Well it's being published by Bethesda, and they rarely put out crap games.

Or how about pre-order now while it is £15 cheaper than buying it on release date from steam. Why do people think they matter enough that they can tell others what to do?

This is a site to bring deals to peoples attention not for thrusting your beliefs down other peoples throats.

I just genuinely don't understand people that pre order...
What if this turns out to be a terrible game or more importantly, what if on day one, it is a buggy mess (happens so much these days!).

Also, on day one I will come back to you with the cheapest price I find. Guarantee you that it will be as cheap, if not cheaper than this.

I kind of get your point with the "buggy mess" part but I know what kind of games I like and I know I will at least enjoy this enough to spend what effectively costs less than 2 hours at work.

I have bought a lot of games that have caused people a lot of problems in the not too distant past and they have all ran perfectly on my PC so I am not worried about performance issues (at least not with the game) with this one.

My point with my last post was that I know my own mind and I know what I like to play so it just gets my back up when people come onto every thread for a new game and bombard the steam forum with these DO NOT PRE-ORDER messages.

As to your day one price match, if I hadn't pre-ordered Resident Evil 7 at £24 I would have ended up paying a lot more for it when the glowing reviews started flowing in, again less that two hours work for a game that lasted me 47 hours and I loved enough to play 5 times.

Anyway, each to his own, you don't like pre-orders, I do (if the price is right). Let's just try not to shove our own beliefs down other peoples throats.

P.S. This is not aimed directly at you mikem1989, I respect your opinion it's I just don't share it.

slightly off topic,

what did you think of resident evil 7. I mean I'm a Huge Fan of the originals on ps1 and wasn't so sure about Re games after 4...so hows does it compare with the classics especially being 1st person mode? Thanks

I loved (almost) every minute of it on all 5 play throughs. I haven't actually played 4, 5, or 6 and I'm not really sure how to compare it to the original 3rd person versions to be honest as it plays completely differently but the atmosphere is awesome and the puzzles and item management are great.

I would suggest that you play the demo first as it fits really well with the full game. All demos should be done like this as it lets you get a feel for the game without spoiling anything and adds so much to the full game.

SLIGHT SPOILER:

It was great re-visiting the location from the demo in the full game and seeing what had changed.

END OF SLIGHT SPOILER:

Overall I couldn't recommend it enough and getting unlocks from finishing the game in a different way each time makes the replay value much higher.

I get what you mean about knowing what you like so you pre ordered it. Makes sense, but still doesn't help if it's a buggy mess.
I guess for me it would have to be on a game by game basis.
For instance, I pre ordered GTA V because I love GTA and I love Rockstar. I'll pre order GTA 6 aswell because I know I'm in safe hands as they don't tend to rush games to market.

With Prey, at least it is from a developer that has a okay record I suppose. I remember been so glad I didn't pre order Batman Arkham Knight even though I was looking forward to it. Turned out the game was a mess and by the time it was fixed I picked it up for about 8 quid.
Fallout 4 was one I preempted would have issues so I swerved that until it had its first couple of patches.
Like many other people, I was also hyped for No Man's Sky. Look what happened there. The game became a Joke X)

As for Resident Evil, after seeing great reviews, I purchased it for £24.34. I didn't see a price hike there. One game where I do see your point is Battlefield 1. After that came out to great reviews I did see a hike of about a tenner that lasted a few weeks till the hype died down.

So in short, I agree Pre-ordering isn't always bad but I play it safe and just don't. In an ideal world, nobody would order until a game has been properly reviewed. Therefore forcing developers to have better QC. As no one is going to buy a game which is known to be borked.

But don't get me started on people that buy season passes right away (_;):D:D
I believe that is genuinely stupid and the practice is ruining games. Deus Ex been the most recent example.
I remember the Elder Scrolls Oblivion Horse Armour scandal. That was back when DLC was a relatively new concept and from that day I realised we were all dooooomed! hahaha

So is this some sort of sequel to Prey or have Bethesda just pinched the name and it's got nothing to do with a native American?
