Forgive me but that's a classic example of voting cold because it doesn't suit your particular circumstances which is not what the voting system is about. It's like voting cold because you prefer two weeks in Warsaw! How is £177 for 2 weeks fly drive in Florida anything other than a hot deal?

I dont want to put a downer on this deal but maybe some of you have never been to florida on a fly-drive holiday before.

Be prepared to have to splash out around an extra £200 when you get there for the pleasure of being able to drive the car on the road.

The car is included in the price, but what they don't tell you is you have to pay extra for car insurance.

So you can all thank me later.

wish I could get time off- what a brilliant deal - well done

Don't take the car, just get one from someone else.

Don't do the fly-drive, just do the flight only and save your money. The fly-drives are scams because the required insurance is more than you could get a car rental from another company!

More to the point, just catch a coach/taxi, book into a beachfront hotel for 2 weeks and then take excursions to Disneyland, etc. Stuff the car.
#24
This is so hot you could fry an egg on it. Much like Orlando is now becoming.

I am attempting to book this now, meanwhile hot and rep.
#25
Monarch have a very, very limited seat pitch, just FYI, I'm only 5'11" and I wouldn't want to fly all the way to the US with them. Think EasyJet levels of space. For 9 and a half hours.

ERR?? so you would rather pay to hire out another car from somewhere else when its already included in the price of your holiday and then you will still have to shell out the car insurance to drive the car no matter who you hire the car from, LOL.

They do tell you - in red - on the website :

NOTE: The package price includes flights and car hire with third party insurance. It is vital that you purchase further adequate cover & we highly recommend that you purchase one of our two upgraded car insurances at the time of booking.

This is still a fantastic deal.

BTW, we found it cheaper to buy our own car hire through Dollar rather than buy the car insurance only through Monarch.

Haha a beachfront hotel in Orlando florida, oh please you have obviously never been to Orlando before, the reason why they offfer you a car in orlando is its just miles and miles of a concrete road, your in the middle of nowhere in orlando there are no beachfront hotels.

Wow vuittion, you have managed to go from highlighting a valid issue (insurance) to sounding like a right spiteful so and so. Is it really necessary to be so condescending to people on here?

The suggestion for choosing flight only and getting car hire elsewhere that khizman mentioned was a good one. It looks like it would be a cheaper option.

Likewise, was it so necessary to be so spiteful in response to Fat Bird's lack of familiarity with the landscape of Florida? Plus to be honest, I know a couple of families that have been to Florida without hiring a car.

Or perhaps FatBird meant stay at the beach, and just travel into Orlando 2 or 3 times to do some Disney? It's only about 90 minutes away by bus. Sounds like a plan to me. Well said FatBird
Perhaps you should go to Disney, Vuittion - you do a very good impression of Grumpy

I think if you check out the price of Car hire - With insurance you will find it cheaper than the over inflated insurance that is heaped onto the fly drive deals. Usually the same car hire place is cheaper if you do the package through them than take a fly drive car.
That is what the post earlier was meaning.

Its a great deal for Flight only though.

Car hire - I used http://www.airline-network.co.uk/carhire/ a few years ago and can highly recommend their service. I do think you can still do a deal direct cheaper though - book online with www.Dollar.com or the like.
Just Checked airline network and you can get a car with insurance plus the return tank of fuel (Car is small hatch) for under £120. Maybe a few state taxes on top but that is far cheaper than the £175+ that the Fly drive stitch you up on.

Fly Drives are so cheap because they make their money with stealth tactics. I hope I have helped a few people - Just wish I was going. :(

Great deal for a bit of an adventure! Definately hot. Can't believe anyone would vote this cold.
#34
Wow that's an amazing deal indeed, whatever people might say. At that time of the season, you wouldn't find any flights under £300, even by booking early.

We have a few friends in Miami so we don't need the car but even if we had to pay for it, at £141 it remains significantly cheaper than regular tickets!

Voted extra hot, plus some rep' for the nice holidays some of us will enjoy thanks to your post!
Great find!
#35
any1 actually booked this or just said 'wow gd deal'
#36
Sorry to sound so rubbish, but is a hotel/b&b included. If not, that's cool, but how do you reduce the price (I don't have a driving licence).

Thanks :)

What a load of nonsense, just book separate rental car insurance for about £120 for a years policy, less £20 cash back via insurance4carhire website. You don't have to pay the holiday companies inflated insurance prices.

I like the irony of the £18 per person 'late booking fee'

Voted Hot - just a shame these late deals are no good for me
#39
Booked car hire from Sanford for flights in early July (much dearer than this!!)

£250 for a premium car for 2 weeks, gold package : unlimited drivers, full tank of fuel, all insurance(s) paid.

Better than booking the flydrive and adding the £200 for insurance.
#40
I went to Florida last year and booked a Lincoln for 15 days for about £240, all insurances included.

The fact is, it's a really cheap flight at a time when most companies are asking £500-600 plus

How come these bargains never crop up when I've booked time off and could take advantage:x
