Depends how tight your budget is - this may be all some people can afford! And not all those consoles have equivalent 'can get new with games' offers elsewhere eg the ps3 40gb.

Maybe to put people off the deal so there will be some stock left for the cold voters to buy.

Ordered several times from them previously with no problem whatsoever! If they were dodgy, they wouldn't be allowed on here. Suggest you read up your facts on this company - http://www.buyithere.co.uk/help/about_us

Bought a "Damaged Box" PS3 a few months ago and when it eventually arrived it was clearly a customer return that had seen heavy use and had a damaged network port to boot! The box even had a sticker on it addressed to the returns department. Returned it and got a full refund (eventually).

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

Unlucky, my experience was the opposite. Sometimes they state that the consoles too are returns, but these are box-only damaged. You have to remember many people return stuff for no other reason than they need or want the money back, or having bought at full price originally, found it cheaper elsewhere, or because it's the wrong colour, or not what they expected etc etc - who hasn't done that @ Argos or anywhere else?.

The 40Gb for £219.99 is a good price though, many people buy them as media streamers so the extra disk space isn't needed.

Might pick up a second one at that price.

Kingston Woolworths are doing brand new PS3 40gb for £225.00.

Good price I guess for the Xbox Elite. :?
#17
Wouls you really want to take the risk of getting a damaged customer return this close to christmas though?
I wouldn't.

As stated previously, you're using 1 console example - others they have don't have any 'with games' better offers anywhere ie ps3 40gb @ £219.99

Is it just me who doesn't see the point in buying a console without a game?

In days of old, you wouldn't buy one of these bundles because the games were pants.... Much like the current bundles for a PS3 at Dixons. But with these current deals where, for a mere £40 - £50 more you could get two good games and a film, just seems like a no brainer.

If money was that tight, it would seem pointless to by a new console and wait a month or so for a game.

I guess there is at least a fair selection of downloadable demos to keep you going.

Just my 2c. I didn't vote as I would rather pay £5 more and pick one up instore from Woolworths, as previously stated.

Stupid argument - people will no doubt receive games as presents - they can also wait a few weeks when games will be even cheaper in the run-up to xmas...

I'm looking at buying a ps3 but am trying to look at it from every angle possible.......i can understand both sides of the argument that buying a box set with games a Hdmi cable and a blu-ray movie thrown in is all well and good ......but how many people ever get the game ,movie that they really want...?.....this is a good alternative for some who just want a basic ps3 albeit at a 40gb model .....seems to me good value for just the console....many of the games are platinum now....ie Drakes Fortune,Ratchet and Clank etc.....and the price of Blu-Ray's seem to be falling....and also to claim that a bundled HDMI cable is worth £17.99 is a piece of twaddle........Rant over......Hot for me just for console on its own and if i want to upgrade HDDrive its a piece of cake job on these things......theres even tutorials on you tube for those that have thought about doing it.

As already stated there are many many people who don't even use a PS3 to play games. The PS3 is the Only Media streamer you can buy with an Integrated Bluray drive and will happily stream most formats in both SD and HD.

for streaming use the HDD size is irrelevant and just getting the PS3 Hardware only at the cheapest price is is the aim.

I've had no choice but to buy a console without the games as there hasn't been a package around that has games that the kids would be interested in, so just because you think it's a better deal with the 2 or 3 games, whatever, I think, what am I going to do with games that the kids won't play and how much would I get for a trade in. So what's the point :?
#31
I have ordered from this site with no problems at all. I got a pink psp have plugged it all in and it is perfect.

The one I ordered was supposed to be a 'damaged box' console, but as I say the console was basically second hand, and was damaged too.

Everytime someone posts a buyithere.com deal like this there are always mixed opinions. Some people get a good buy and others don't. So there clearly is a risk involved in buying one of these, but for those who get lucky then it could be a good deal for them.

I just wanted to give people a heads-up so they go in with their eyes open.

Not really a stupid argument as others have picked up on it. I said it was my opinion which are obviously based on my circumstances and that of my friends and family.

I do believe I'm still allowed an opinion.

Agreed. That I didn't think of and I believe is the reason why my brother is going to get one. He wants the bluray and media streaming.

Rep for a polite and constructive answer.

I'm sorry to hear that there hasn't been a package your kids would benefit from but I (key word) would still rather pick up a brand new 40gb version from my local Woolworths for £5 more. Especially as some are reporting the consoles ARE used and not just a damaged box.

Also, some of the packages come with games like Little Big Planet which still comand a good trade and resale price.

This is just y opinion. Not looking for a flaming!

Have to agree. this is one, if not the worst ps3 deal out there and the OP looking to put down comments to the contrary is just plain sad.

LOOK ELSEWHERE. This is a rubbish deal. :whistling:

Have to agree with others, why buy a damaged box/return when you can buy a new mint console for the same or even lower price after selling/trading the extras.

Damaged box, means these have been dropped or thrown about, meaning console could have incurred damage, not worth it.

A lot of people don't want the hassle of selling unwanted extra's. Some people buy the games/accessories in anticipation of getting a console later on when they can afford it.

Or...It could be perfectly fine. You are covered by the Distance Selling Regulations, and the Sale Of Goods Act in any case.

Buy with a credit card, and it's pretty much sewn up.

I took a chance on saturday and ordered a Wii with a damaged box. It arrived today and only has a very small dent on the corner of the box and the box itself is still sealed.

We didn't want to buy a Wii bundle as none that we saw had any games that we wanted, so this was the best way to go for us. All in all i'm extremely pleased with the price and the speedy delivery.

Thanks to the OP for the link!
