Hi all
Was the RAC voucher code the latest one around as I used that one already!
#15
another great game. Had a feeling it would be on at this price range somewhere, glad I held off from the gamer offer of £25 last week now!
#16
at this price, you could buy it & play it, & if you dont like it, you could trade-in at HMV for cash - doubt you would loose any money, maybe even make a profit :)
#17
nooooo lol

Have to say, I was really dissapointed by this game. Looks pretty and everything, but is very repetitive and I quickly lost interest.
Bitter enough that I paid £6 to rent it!

The Prince of Persia games have always been pretty much the same format, you either like them or you dont. I love this type of game and ive ordered it along with Tomb Raider.l At 17.99 you cant go wrong!

I'm gonna have to disagree with that. Sands Of Time was t he best Prince of Persia in my opinion and its been downhill ever since.

The new one doesn't play like the old ones in so much as the story seems to take a back seat to the open world, the platforming is so easy that it practically does it for you and shows you where to go and you can't even die. And when I say open world, all you can do itn it is choose which area to do first sometimes and each one plays out the same, its like rinse and repeat, feels like a chore.
The combat always takes place on those little preset stagesand is also a pain. It just feels overly polished and bland to me *shrug* =p thats my opinion.

Nice graphics though.

Order placed, w00t!

Good job I've got the receipt for the one I bought from Game on Friday :P Save me £7 ;)
#24
Just ordered this, cheers op :)

I was initially really keen to buy this but even at this price I don't seem quite sure.
The 'handholding' worries me a lot, I might as well spend the time trying to finish DMC4 instead.
#26
Just ordered this and Pure for xbox 360 , great prices, made even better by using Nectar (quidco wont get on Play site at moment) plus used the RAC 5% code (3rd time used now) so actually cost me £26.58 after RAC discount , cant be bad.
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

i think the only reason i kept playing it was it gives you about 5 trophies within a few mins from the start... whereas tomby doesn't and it gets really boring... i don't know y i buy tomby, i never finish them, zzz - i'm a girl, so i don't buy for the freeze frame gusset lmao
#28
Not really a fan of the Prince of Persia series to be honest. But at this price it's worth a shot even if I just get the trophies then trade it in:thumbsup:

To be fair, as someone else stated (and made a great point) the inability to die is actually a good thing - You do still have the consequences of death (e.g. Falling into a chasm - And being brought back to the start of that area, much like a checkpoint just not obvious, or losing to a boss but not dying but the bosses health goes back to full) except you don't have the additional time waster and frustration of a game over screen.

In my eyes, that sounds spot on. Maybe it's just me?

I haven't played it yet, ordered it earlier, but I reckon it'll be worth a go :) That rationale sounded fine to me, not so much hand-holding but more of a different approach to death :)

I can appreciate how some people will like this game, but personally I like more of a challenge in my games, something more stimulating.
Still, if this is your cup of tea, it's a very hot deal
#31
I got myself the Tomb Raider Underworld instead but good deal
#32

I think it's good as well actually, I didn't like the sound of it when reading reviews however it doesn't make the game easier instead it just makes it less repetitive. You still have to the entire platforming sequence it's just when you die you don't have to do all the ones previous to it again. What I often found annoying in previous games which still happens in this game is that sometimes the Prince will jump off at a random angle or the camera will swing during a jump which means through no fault of your own you fall to your doom.

I'm not very keen on the combat at the moment as I preferred the combo style from the old games which just felt a lot more satisfying plus there is far less combat in this game. Can't believe this is down to 18 pounds already, I thought 25 pounds was a good price...
