That made me laugh out loud :) Textures really don't take up that much space, and should easily be sufficient on a regular dvd, let alone a dual layer dvd. In fact, it's even easier for a game like this because many things are reused during the trilogy and as such only take up disc space once.

Made you laugh? Have you tried fitting 3 PS2/xbox games onto a single DVD? Unless you decrease the texture quality further, which will look even worse in 1920x1080, they'd have to use multiple discs. It also depends on the remastering and any other changes they make.

Actually the reason is because the Xbox 360 is actually backwardly compatible (if you have a HDD and download the emulator from Xbox Site) with most of the best games on the console, and with built in upscaler doing a good enough job to display it on the screen it's not really neccesery, unlike the PS3 where only the first phat model had backward compatibility and didn't upscale very well.

The only PoP game on Xbox that works on the 360, is Sands of Time, and it is a laggy buggy almost unplayable mess thanks to the awful **** that is the 360's Xbox emulator. And that's if you play it offline. If you play it signed into to live, it just hard crashes the system. So, they'd have had to port the games to the 360, and cram all 3 already DVD sized games onto 1 DVD. Probably possible, but not worth the extra effort.

The 360 can play a small fraction of Xbox games, but most of them have serious issues.
