I'm voting cold as it was posted by a newbie and has a higher power consumption than a small town

This is the rival the the carlsberg draughtmaster, right? Well I was thinking about getting a Carlsberg one (in fact I ordered one to collect in store tomorrow) dispite the rumours that the kegs are being discontinued. But, if i remember correctly, this one can take the Heinken kegs too?Although the sudden drop in prices of all of them makes me think the kegs are going to be a thing of the past. I hope not because I want one.
I read about the power consumtion on the other thread and then heard that they had updated the model since then and that they arent so bad now. Also, one of the draughtmasters i looked at while i was finding a good price, (i think it was this one but i could be wrong) has a function that means you turn it off after it is fully chilled and it keeps it cool for another 2 hours, saving on energy!
Voted Hot anyway!

Plus it's not from John Lewis so it doesn't have a free five year warranty. Brrr...

On the other hand it's not the Carlsberg Draughtmaster. Wonder if it's any good at chess too?

Unless this works out cheaper than the Heneiken £10 - £14 kegs then I'm not interested. If this just takes a Heinken then there is no point - the Kegs can fit in a fridge / cold garage - plus once they are cold they stay chilled for ages.

I'd be interested if there were cheap good get kegs to go in it, I dont mean cheap as it LIDL value beer, I mean good value standard and premium lagers. I havent really looked into it too much, correct me if I'm wrong though. Otherwise this seems to just be a novelty when Heineken is good IMO, or bottled beer is cheaper and finally cans which aren too bad.

Hot from me, but I would be a bit wooried about the availability of the kegs in the future. You can also use it to keep drinks cool and take it with you in the car as it can be powered off the 12v socket

Makro sell 5lt kegs of warsteiner and something else similar for £7.00 a keg, my hubby says they're fine, and trust me he drinks enough of a variety and quantity to know! they are sometimes on offer for £5.00 so we load up the garage then!!!!
#17
So this one will take any make of keg?
#18
ooops sorry we have the wunderbar one and that takes all kegs, this one says its limited to heineken kegs only.

Does he use the kegs with this Beer cooler? If so they must be the same as the Heineiken. How long does it take to get the beer cool and how cold does it get it? I've bought the mini beer fridges before, the type with Budweiser, Stella or similar written on the glass door, and they don't work very well and the beers not cold - well the one I got didn't and went straight back to the shop! The temperature of the beer is very important you know

Edit: Ah, already answered! I wasted time typing when I could have been drinking my cold beer! :-D

I use a fridge

My turn. I'm voting cold as the deal doesn't mention half price Corn Flakes or cans of Sprite in Sainsburys.

Seriously even if kegs were widely available and had a bright and healthy future I still wouldn't touch them due to their ridiculously extortionate price.

I mean you can get "premium" (please let's not start the premium beer argument again ;-)) beers like Stella on offer in cans for about £1 a litre whilst whilst the cheapest you'll ever get beer in a keg for is about £2 a litre - TWICE THE PRICE!!!

I've seen these kegs for sale in France and Germany and the price per litre works out pretty much similar to the cans.

So why are they SO expensive in this country then? Answer = RIP OFF BRITAIN!!!
