Awesomesauce, been waiting for this to come down. Need to add some girlyness to my gaming set-up.

Do you still need the gamecube adaptor for the Wii U though?

As mentioned in the description, you plug this into a wii mote and it acts as a wireless pad.
No gamecube controller adaptor is required with this pad.

Fair enough. Maybe check some reviews to get feedback before investing more cash. There's a nice video at with loads of info at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GC94j8-ssas

I've gone for a couple of the hori ones to get Mario & Luigi versions.

I'd prefer something wired tbh. So we'll see. I really want to see some deals for Hyrule Warriors and smash bros, but everywhere is sold out x_x

My findings are if you're in the market for one of these go for the Hori version, the buttons are more true to the GC pad, and the top triggers are the correct way round. I've played smash with a wired Gamecube pad and the Hori pad, wired is ever so slightly better but it's nothing too far ahead in performance.

I knew there was something off about the PDP ones... Might try a Hori one next

Yeah the Hori pads do beat the pdp versions in a few areas. there's a pikachu version coming out too, play Asia have it up for pre order. They look amazing.

Does it need to be a Wii U remote or could I pick up a cheap Wii remote and use this with it?

Honestly I dont know for sure. I would expect the regular wii mote to work as the wii mote plus just adds extra sensitivity to motion controls (which obviously dont feature on the pad). Don't take my word for it tho! Maybe google it to make sure

Yeah i've seen that, looks pretty sweet! But I was looking forward to the Link one until I just realised it's made by PDP :(

So you can connect this to a Wii Nunchuk and this potentially becomes wireless?

Also, will this work with Super Smash Bros Wii U?
#17
Wiimote, not nunchuck. Yes it will - this is the main reason for it.
