Fantastic deal.

I just renewed my policy as Tesco wanted £238, Esure was the best at £198, but need my proof of no claims within 10 days, but Tesco will only send that when my policy expires in 14 days. I checked the price keen for my £50, but the swines managed to massacre the price. I suppose I must be Privileged in somebodies eyes. They quote £181 so I will cancel my other on and take this one out. If you are about to renew then you might be lucky. I used Gocompare, Moneysupermarket .com and confused.com and some of the direct companies like more, aviva (Norwich Union) and some others. Confused had me at £298 so I am still in shock at the price difference. Heat added and I will go to Morrisons and get some of the bottles of Grolsch for a pound to celebrate.:p:-D:w00t:

Confused.com have never come up with anything within a mile of best price for me. Most of these comparison sites have commercial arrangements with insurers and don't even include some of the majors.

Ironically, the Tesco comparison site has proved very good - pointing me to good deals NOT with Tesco! Worth a look if you're shopping. I've also found it worth calling your current insurer if you get an increased renewal letter - they will often review and reduce, in one case to much less than the previous year! Works for household too. Weird stuff insurance.

do they have a minimum age? good deal tho!
Not being funny, but this is now (surely) misc and random?
Insurance is way too subjective; what's good for one is rarely if at all the best for anyone else. The quidco stuff is nice, but this isn't a hot deal as such

Oh and for the record, voted cold accordingly for those folk who say we should comment when voting cold
You can swap insurers whenever you like. However, bear in mind you will lose your no claims you have built up within that year. Say you been with the insurer 7 months, you'd have to start those 7 months again, when your only 5 months away from another year.

I got 5 years, so it dont make much difference to be honest.
Do the cashbacks on quidco only apply on a renewal or can swap insures at any time and still get the quidco cashback?
My wife always insured her Fiesta with Direct Line. This year for fully comp, protected no claims and full no claims discount it was about £170. I went onto confused.com and there were lots who were cheaper, about 3rd from top was the Post Office at £113 and it mentioned £50 discount. Anyway we took their insurance online. Yesterday we got a Postal Order for £50 in the post  Bargain car insurance and she's taking me out to dinner :)
