Every man needs a tent! especially once a month! :whistling:

Got a 2 man tent last summer, far far too small! Would not reccommend actually using this for 4 people! :p

Hot though :)

1200 mm hydrostatic head !!!!!!!!!!
Could do better !

Buying a crappy, cheap tent is definitely false economy as you'll end up regretting it when it leaks. Plus it's more likely to tear and be poorer quality.

So whilst it is cheap, it's cheap for a reason.

And this would be better suited for 2 people, 3 at a push.

I bought one of these last year, I go camping all the time and I can't fault it whatsoever. Absolutely brilliant tent. Doesn't leak at all. Don't get drunk and set light to it though, it didn't like that.
Oh and it's not really a 4 man, it's more like a large 2 man with storage.

But what about when it gets set on fire at the end? surely it isn't a false economy then :)

Pro-Action? Sounds like a pornstars tent.

they'd be best off describing tents in terms of midgets rather than men. Whatever capacity tent it is, you always deduct two from it. ie: 4-man tent = 2-man tent. You always need room for storage of daysacks, boots, firearms etc etc.

Perfect festival tent.

Off to first glasto this year, this should do the biz! :D Maybe a bit oversized, but meh. I'm sure I'll have company...maybe... ok probably not :s
#16
Bought 2 of these last week between 4 of us for the V fest.....they're just 'ok' quality, cheap enough to leave behind if too muddy or ripped.
They are also being sold for £25 for in Homebase and a couple of other shops but, Argos have an adjacent offer running 'buy any tent, get a tent light (pack of 2) half price'......£10 instead of £20

Hi, thanks to OP for the deal, got one yesterday.

Just a quick note, it's not 14.46kg, which would be very heavy, I believe it is just 4.46kg. More portable and probably more flimsy, but still a great price.

Tempted to get one of these so i can use the 95p a day camping vouchers in this weeks Daily Mirror . (over 150 different sites throughout Britain and ROI)

1200mm Hydorstatic pressure is incredibly low. Even cheap tents normally manage 2000mm. Good ones are more like 5000mm.

Would porbably leak like a sieve in anything more than a drizzle. You have been warned!

UPDATE: According to Halfords website: "An entry level tent with a hydrostatic head of less than 1,000mm, is really only showerproof. For a tent to be classified as waterproof it must have a hydrostatic head of at least 1,500mm."
#23
During a British three season period, Spring, Summer, Autumn the hydrostatic head of the tent should certainly not be less than 1000mm. Any less and water seeping in during a storm is very likely. Bear in mind also that wind-driven rain requires a higher hydrostatic head. The MOD consider 800mm as waterproof

Haha. I'm off to Glasto and this is far from the ideal tent to take. 1200mm Hydrostatic head isn't enough to put my mind at ease.

I had a 1800mm for Glasto last year and at times though it wasn't going to hold out

So for for a newbie festival goer...and newbie camper (ooh-err) you don't suggest this one then? The wife and I are off to V this year so would like to be a comfortable as possible (within reason obviously...im not expecting the ramada inn.)
I've bought one of these but kept receipt just in case....saw a 4 man tent/mutlipack deal at asda earlier that looked pretty good.....was up and it was plenty big enough for the 2 of us plus you get 2 camping chairs and other stuff included for £40 gonna get back down there later and check it out...what would you suggest to look out for when buying a tent for festival going.

I work at Millets, and even our dirt cheap "wouldn't be seen dead in" tents are 1500.

This is almost a fake tent.

Interesting Mr Millet that you don't mention that they are distributed by AMG group ie VANGO!

Don't believe you stock that brand either
