Went to the new Tesco that opened yesterday near me and found PES 2008 for xbox 360 for £7.71.
Couldnt find this online and not even sure if this is nationwide but i thought it was a bargain.

EDIT...looks like this is nationwide

would anyone pick me up a copy of this game

i paid 29.99 for this when it came out and wouldnt pay 7.71 for it now if i hadent of bought it. Was the worst pes ever and a complete let down, fifa beats it hands down. Unless you want it for achievements or to improve ur game collection wait for pes 2009 or fifa 09

Hot deal for that price but the game is dreadful but still a great deal if you can find it:thumbsup:

What are you on about?? Fifa is for babies and people who try and score from the half way line. This is the most realistic football game going. Brilliant game, esp the Master League.

Too many thieves in my area for the large Tescos to stock any games. They used to stock games but stopped.

I agree with the first bit, game is wack, fifa wins hands down, awesome game,
but dont agree with second bit, wouldnt pay a penny for it, PES 2008 is simply awful, and has been for last two years. FIFA has FINALLY overtaken as the football game of football games!!!

U obviously haven't played the new Fifa games... educate urself before making dumb comments. Play both, then have your say. IMO the latest Fifa is better than the latest Pro Evo
#21
Remember
PC WORLD price match TESCO at 110% so you can get it for cheaper than £7.71
#22
aah, the age old pro evo versus fifa debate. Fifa is not fit enough to polish pro evo's boots (even with the bugs) played them both, fifa is all style over substance with very loose, sloppy controls. Pro evo is how the game is supposed to be played.
#23
Tesco Extra (norham Road North Shields) Don't have this, but do have the better FIFA 08 for £15
#24
Abit of education

Pro evo has always been better then fifa, fifa is more for kids and pro evo for adults i like to think.

However the latest fifa is there best ever and the latest pro evo is there worst ever. So even tho i didnt buy fifa i have played it and i rate it better then pro evo THIS time around only. However i think pro evo makers will defo rectify the problems and the next pro evo 2009 will be top quality im sure.

Heat added btw

I used to like Pro Evo on my PS2 but since Xbox have become a FIFA convert, this years Pro Evo is horrible, FIFA on the other hand ia a masterpiece.

In the wrong kits, fictional teams along with horrible laggy play?

A mate who works at Tesco just picked me up the last copy from his local store. 6 quid something with discount!

i have got both pes2008 and fifa 08, and although fifas graphics are better i still prefer pes game play. I find fifas really slow. I must admit that fifa has come a long way since the ps2 version when pes was the one and only good footy game.

heat added btw

Fictional kits - aaargh , only people under the age of 14 should care about this!
Fictional teams - can easily be rectified!
The laggy gameplay i must admit is a downfall, but its only when playing online and i can put up with it as the gameplay is so good.

The only reason FIFa has got a bit better over the years IS because they've tried to copy Pro Evo. Unsuccessfully I might add. Fifa will never be anywhere near as good as Pro Evo in playability. Pro Evo set the standards, and I used to play back when it was called Winning Eleven and Fifa 98 was out. Those you disagree haven't a CLUE. Great price for a great game. Only reason Pro Evo haven't got the correct names and badges is because Fifa bought the rights solely, hoping that would be their selling point over Pro EVo.

Gota agree with a few points their and i also use to play it when it used to be winning eleven :D

I've played both PES and Fifa and both have their good/bad points.
PES for £7.71 is a hot deal.
Why all the squabbling? My dad's bigger than your dad...etc etc

When Pro Evo was on the PS2 it was superb! This version is a bit laggy.

However..great price! Heat added!

Off to Tesco's tomorrow!

I didn't pay attention when blindly purchasing the game - here's my story:

I went to tesco direct in Staines, and picked up the last copy on the shelf.
The game is in a plastic case which staff need to remove when you pay for it.
I was busy with my pin number and the girl serving me put the game into a carrier bag.
I left the story a happy bunny.

At home I realised there was no plastic wrapping on the game. Looked closer
and you could see that a sticker on the cover had been removed, with a little bit of it still left on the cover.
On closer inspection its plain to see the cover is not new, and surprise surprise, the disc was definitely used, and in fact heavily scratched too.
Tried to play it and the 360 complained that the disc was dirty.

So at lunchtime I shall be going back to tesco to have a fight with a manager.
I'll let you guys know how I get on.

Anyone else got a second hand useless copy of the game??

How did you get on?? I picked up the last one on the shelf in Ilkeston. When I got home, i tried to open it. Ripped off the wrapper, saw a red plastic security type thig where you open the box. The xbox tag was already broken. I had to lever the red thing out with a knife thus slightly damaging the green case. The red platic thing popped off which allowed me to open the box. However, there was still a long red plastic thing inside which stopped you pressing the middle 'button' to release the dvd. I had to practically bend the dvd out, it must have been sooo close to breaking.

Did it in the end though!!

Happy days!!
