Ok so not a fantastic price but sub £30 and if youve not preordered from a site (postal strikes blah blah) then you might want to pick this up. Personally no interest in the game, will wait for it to be £15 but i know there are die hard fans out there and this may interest someone. Again as with the smackdown post it was spotted on page 60 of the daily star, sorry no picture but im sure someone else can verify that., and again its from midnight tonight.

am with th OP on this one ,will wait as its for xmas anyway so wil wait for price fall, but good price for anyone wanting it now.
#3
cold as this seems to be the price in most places give or take a few pence
#4
shame, this used to be the best game ever. reviews have not been as high as Fifa. Seems a good price though
#5
i've played this years demos of both fifa and pes and i prefer pes.

personally i dont care much for the licencing, pes "feels" better, like the players arent weightless objects skating around on ice. the lack of licencing isnt an issue,

same price at zavvi / thehut and they have quidco

ok if you want it now - dunno why cos the reviews arent great.

Well I've always been a PES man but this year, after reading the reviews, I decided on FIFA 10.

After playing it for 3 weeks I sold it to CEX for £29 yesterday (bought it for £25!). The game is full of bugs. Manager mode alone has 70+ bugs many of which are game breaking and as I generally play the manager side of the footy games it was just too much for me.

The gameplay in FIFA is bugged too but when you are playing manager mode and find your players disappearing into other teams, your budget suddenly going to £-20 billion, players names turning to random numbers and crashing the console, manager mode becoming inaccessible, every game played in the rain at night, player form making no sense at all, all injuries lasting 1 week, getting sacked for being top of the league, and much, much more it becomes an excercise in determination rather than fun to play the game.

I was particularly annoyed by the fact that I have not seen ONE single review that has mentioned any bugs despite many of them being so obvious that it is impossible to play for more than an hour without coming across them. It's also disgusting behaviour on the part of EA to publish a game that they could not have failed to know was bugged to unplayability.

The final straw for me was when EA finally published details of the promised patch. They had addressed just SIX of the 70+ MM mode bugs. And then said that they have no intention of producing any more patches.

Some say that FIFA's gameplay is better than PES. I was more than willing to give it a try this year (I only buy one footy game a year) but after 3 weeks I can say a few things:

1. I don't want to pay to be a beta tester.
2. I don't want to be treated like dirt by a company I have paid money to.
3. I no longer trust reviews of games.
4. I've NEVER bought a console game that is so bugged before.
5. I'm shocked that a company can sell a game that is simply not "fit for purpose" and then refuse to fix more than 10% of the bugs.
6. People say that FIFA is more realistic...I have to say that my experience is the opposite. Yes, it is better paced but there are some serious problems with gameplay which make it no fun to play.
7. Realistic or not, I want to have fun playing footy on my console.

So, come tonight/tomorrow I will take my £29 and buy PES 2010.

Went FIFA last year after PES 2009 was poor, going back to PES (why did I ever leave you??) and the above has made me much happier with my decision. Only played the FIFA 10 demo and decided then that I was going back.

Whirly my friend, I am glad someone is talking passionately about FIFA being so poor. Makes you wonder why I have seen practically no-one highlighting this, especially as FIFA 10 was the FASTEST selling sports franchise EVER and the biggest number one since GTA: San Andreas. Must be a lot of people playing bug-ridden "soccer" just because they can do a couple of tricks and kick-ups with Kaka (or Lee Hughes).

sad man! you sat down and counted the bugs :whistling:

cant say I have comne across one

why are PES trolls so easy to spot lol
#10
Nope, didn't count the bugs...take a surf across to the EA forums and there is a list reposted time and time again. It's hard to miss. The players thought it would be useful to the developers to patch the bugs...they were ignored.

Full list (made BY FIFA fanboys): http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/fifa-10-sony-playstation-3-microsoft-xbox-360/697121-manager-mode-questions-answers-178.html#post11539748

And if you want an idea of just how p****d off the FIFA fans are then try reading the whole thread. It's just about manager mode and the problems. It's currently at 218 pages. Yup two hundred and eighteen pages of FIFA fanboys saying just how disgusted they are at the game.

BTW, if I was a PES troll I would never have considered buying FIFA 10. I did buy it because I wanted to play the BEST footy game this year and the reviews convinced me FIFA 10 was it. Actually playing it and being part of the FIFA community convinced me that although there may be a great game in there, it's drowned under the weight of its bug and the developers disdain for their customers.

If PES turns out to be bugged to hell and the developers refuse to fix more than 10% of the bugs you can be sure I'll trade PES as well.

CSIMAN...I have a vague memory of you being temporarily banned from HUKD recently? Is that you? Probably not.

I would like to say that it would be a good idea to do a little research on exactly WHO is reporting the bugs before you accuse them all of being biased PES fanboys. They are not, they are real, loyal FIFA fans who feel let down and betrayed by EA and the terrible state they find their favourite game in. Almost all will stick with it but very few are happy. Fortunately I am in the position to choose as I have enjoyed PES for many years and I am used to it's eccentricities, so I can swap. Others would find it impossible to leave FIFA. You should feel sorry for them instead of accusing anyone who has a less than stellar opinion about FIFA of being a troll.

now if i remember correctly pes 09 was full of bugs, so the both as bad as each other, both rushed out.
i will still buy, but not at stupid prices and as said above i aint a beta tester, so wont pay £30

hardly anyone buys fifa for that

GAMECENTRAL 7/10 - Yet another current gen disappointment that can't hold a candle to the ever improving FIFA series.

In other words, its rubbish :giggle:

Last year's Madden was completely unplayable in Franchise Mode because of all the bugs as well. EA often don't bother to finish the games, just sell them and use the buyers as beta testers, which is ridiculous. They have a tendency to not really fix much with the patches that come later and supposedly sort all the issues out as well. One memorable comment from one of the Madden programmers last year basically said that we shouldn't expect them to spend too much time on the patches because that would take away from the time they could spend working on next year's version of the game.

I switched to FIFA 09 last year because PES 2009 was so pointless (exactly the same as the previous version), but it doesn't surprise me at all that FIFA 10 is bug-riddled.

PES 2008 was terrible, PES 2009 I thought was ok, the demo of 2010 looks, plays, feels (almost) perfect. Really got high hopes for this edition of the franchise.

ASDA are a shambles though, I did their preorder, and rushed down there at 6am. No one on cusutomer service knew about it. Eventually found someone on checkouts who told me that "they hadn't come in although they were expecting them" Couldn't even tell me the price, although I heard last night it was 29.71. Waiting for a CS manager to get in so I can complain. If Tesco are same price I will go there on principle

Trolling is very sad csiman, I feel sorry for you.

To everyone else...you pays your money you takes your choice. Which game you feel is better is down to personal taste. I tried the FIFA variety and found it sour with a bitter aftertaste. Others will find it sweet and full.

I picked up my copy of PES in Asda this morning for £29.71. I bought FIFA for £24.99, sold it to CEX for £29 so a little bit of maths tells me I paid £25.70 for PES this year on release day. I'm happy with that.

I had to pick up a pressie for my daughter this morning as well and PES was £29.69 for those who can't make it to Asda or PC World.

For anyone yet to buy, liamis2cool is reporting that Tescos are selling it for £22.71 on the 360.
