Saw this a few days ago and was pondering if I should post it, heat added.

Does anyone have one of these and care to comment? I have one reserved to be picked up tomorrow but it'd be nice to know beforehand.
#3
I'm tempted to buy one of these, but it doesnt have very good reviews. Most people have said its not really good for adults.
#4
Looks the same as mine, attachments are pretty bad, taken mine off. The bench also moves around a little, can be a bit annoying. Otherwise it's pretty good.
#5
Think I'l give it a try tomorrow, I'm 6'0 fairly slim build so hope it will "fit". If not I imagine it would be a pain to dismantle it..
#6
Sounds like leg extension bits might be light enough that many people would outgrow pretty quick. If it's a sturdy bench and will take a total of 200kg, though, that's a reasonable price for the bench on its own.

Checked the reviews and "Annomous from Cheshire" says: "Definately not for anyone over the height of 5ft 6 inches as you will struggle to use it".

Having said that, (s)he can't spell 'anonymous' or 'definitely'... Does that mean they know so much about weight lifting that their brain has changed into gristle, or are they just generally a dumbbell?

I bought a very similar one from Argos a couple of years back and have used it every other day since. I never could figure out how to use the fly/peck attachements properly so took them off. I use the leg attachement and load it up with a couple of small weights first then a large one, 30kg is the max I have tried on the legs as anymore I think it would snap!

Exactly the same as mine and I am 5ft 11 inches, maybe they left the leg curl unit on whilst bench pressing, I guess that would be painful!

Same as mine - will be a body builder on in a minute who says its crap, but ok for amateur.

Just really have a think about if you will use it as it's an expensive clothes drier!

Couldn't have put it better myself haha. Somehow I can't believe that only "midgets", as another reviewer put it, can use it. Will let you know how I get on tomorrow

Had this last year as a Christmas present. I'm 5ft 11, 12 stone and this is fine for me. Wouldn't advise for anyone over 6ft.

Fly attachements get in the way when doing bench presses.

Does wobble around a bit, but every few weeks I check everything is still tight and together.

Had a similar thing when I was younger. Forget the fly attachments, they're not put together properly (hinges are in the wrong place) so you can't do the correct movement for the exercise. The leg attachment is effective and would carry enough weight for me when I was a little less fit than I am now.

Chances are it'll get you sorted initially, but you will grow out of it very quickly.

Damn you argos! Bought this second hand last week as the price didn’t seem to be shifting. As others have said the fly attachments aren’t great and the weights seem to pull very hard on the plastic bushes making the movement very juddery. However I find this more useful than the leg extension.....30kg is not a great weight and if you’re a big guy (or gal) like me then you’ll struggle with how narrow the bars are for the leg extension (think gentleman’s area).

I exceed the max user weight of 110kg and it feels sturdy enough once everything is tightened however there is a little movement in the front legs (next to the leg extension)

The bench is a little short I would say and you will have to remove the leg fly and chest fly if you want to bench – a little annoying if you want to do a circuit as it disrupts the flow but it will only take about a minute to remove or attach the 3 components.

Does anyone know if or when the offer ends?

No wonder, if that's you in your pofile pic..

At least it will be a cheap way to see if I am disciplined enough to use it and "grow" out of it. Otherwise it will still double up as a clothes hanger, so there's still value there

Fair enough point LssL.

I personally would spend a little more, maybe on 2nd hand bench and get one with wider gap between you an the arms for holding the barbell. The one here is very narrow and makes benching more dangerous. And yes its me.

Some thing like this http://www.johnlewis.com/230545973/Product.aspx would be better and hold more (upto 270kg inc user weight) - meaning at 15 stone you would be able to bench 175kg odd on top without it breaking - and not many can do that.
#22
Thanks for the pointer Matt. I am 12st / 75kg for 6'0'' / 1m80. I think I have a while to go before I can bench 175kg! My aim is to tone up and just have more definition, not to massively bulk up. So I think in terms of price/lack of experience I will go for the argos one, but thanks for pointing out that John Lewis one, seems like a good deal. If I feel the need to upgrade in the future, I will sell this one and look up your suggestion again.

Good luck :-)

Did you get it?

Reviews look poor, I just want one for home for 60kg of bar weights. Don't know what bench to get, that John Lewis one is pretty steep.

seems to have gone up in price again...
