These days, we seem to take more and more electronic devices on long car journeys with us, yet vehicles have only a limited number of 12v sockets. Power point resources are increasingly stretched with the increased use of satellite navigation systems, radar devices, DVD players and mobile phones to name but a few. Our clever cigarette lighter extension meets your power demands, providing superior quality, design and functionality. This Twin Cigarette Socket Adapter plugs into your car cigarette lighter socket to give you two sockets instead of one.

I can't find an exact image but athey looked like the image shown, only in silver

If they're anything like there cigarette usb adapters, I wouldn't bother.

only buy this if you have a 12v power access socket and know the ampage for it, not a "cigerette lighter socket" -

The reason is that the wires connecting this socket to the battery in older cars are very thin as are only made for cigerette lighters and mobile phones. You could risk melting the wires - although hopefully the fuse would blow before this. They wont have a very high ampage fuse on older cars for these socksts ither, so you may just blow the fuse...

Is this for chain-smokers??

The PC term nowadays is "Accessory socket". Use of the "C" word is not allowed

And the other thing is coin holder or cashtray, and not an ashtray

I use one of these from £land - albeit a different shape, and it copes with any of the general things you tend to want to plug in to a car. Probably best not to plug 3 inverters in at the same time though

These will probably be fused internally to avoid burning out your car electric's.

Yes - they're likely to fuse internally by catching fire. ;-)

There is ,and you cant use them with cigarette lighters as there is no internal pop up spring.

I don't know whether the one I got was different, but mine was fused inside the plug, and it was sprung to fit a cigarette lighter (sorry, 'accessory socket'!!).

I ran a sat nav, PSP and TV screen off it, and it did work fine, albeit a little warmer than I would have liked. The screen was the worst offender, its rated at 1 amp for some bizarre reason!!

Although I am a bit confused, the title and the image is the three socket one that I have, but the description is for a double one?

make sure you are insured for fire before using one of these, especially if you own an old banger like mine :-)
