Are these any good?
#3
No they are pretty poor

same in Netto for £29.99.
I've used one of those when we didn't have a cooker in some temporary accomodation. I continued to use this oven after we moved because it's so practical for small roasts and easy to clean (and quicker cooking times). It does take up surface space (not really practical to store in cupboard) but if you have the space, I can recommend it.

goretex, can you explain why they are poor. Did you try to cook in one?

I use mine quite often, great for when you dont want to heat a great oven for a few part bake rolls etc

mine came from makro as JML, £19.99+vat

Great little oven and there's never been anything I haven't managed to cook in it.

On second thoughts, t's a bit difficult to do toasted cheese as the fan blows the cheese off and bread flies round and round inside the oven...

I have been using one for about 12 months now, I cant remember the last time I used the gas oven.

I've done cheese on toast loads of times with no problems, cooks both sides at the same time, much better than under a grill.

These are fantastic. we do not use our normal oven anymore. Use this instead pretty much every day.

The oven is only use for parties now.

Same comments as almost everyone else - brilliant machine that has virtually replaced my oven and grill - faster, easier to clean and uses a lot less power.
#17

Got a JML 1 few months ago and gets used nearly everyday there great.

Ive cooked roast meats in mine, also cakes. The only thing I havent done yet is a stew.
Oven chips are great done in these. I also use mine every day.

I was considering one of these, but I've heard a few people complaining that the halogen bulbs don't last that long - and that's the end of the oven, as they're not designed to be changed by the consumer.
#27
£30 at Coopers!
#28
Cheers for all the replies, I'm almost convinced! What is energy use like compared to an electric oven?
#29
Common problem with rust if you use the self cleaning function.
#30
Yes they are easy to clean, they are much quicker than a conventional oven and cook really well. I hardly use my microwave, or grill and would always use this before the oven. Only use the oven when I have too much for the Halogen. This is my best kitchen buy ever.
#31
Can someone please tell me the min/max watts this thing uses.
#32
i heard the glass on halogen ovens can shatter? bit worried about that, otherwise was willing to overlook the fact the bulb might die. but don't want to risk losign my eyes or being shredded with holes from flying glasses.

anyone can speak from long term use-experience, if that is a real danger?
