Have a little heat. I use an Omega boar. Its quite large compared to the others I've see first hand. Doesn't feel a full as it first did but still does the job. I have an inkling badgers are a bit softer but I wouldn't want anything softer than this. Even with this I need to effectively stiffen the bristles to penetrate thicker hair growth.

btw with this brush and a bit of stubble to clear, you don't need a bowl of lather - for me this brush (with a good soap like Truefitt and Hill) can carry enough lather for 3 passes and touch ups. This is also based btw on the concept of lubing the skin - don't need a thick covering of lather IMO.
