Good price but I've gone for a soft all-encompassing case for when its chucked in my rucksack.

Has anybody actually bought a PSP Go?

EDIT: It would seem from the posts above that at least two members of this forum have.

If you haven't got a case for your PSP\PSP Go then get one. I put off buying a PSP case for months and now my PSP looks like its been clawed by a group of cats several times over.

People are already calling the PSP Go one of the worst gaming hardware blunders of the past 10 years.

Can't really disagree with that.

A download only console is a good idea if you charge very low prices for games (worked well for Apple on their phones) but for a full on games console with retail cost and quality games it just isn't currently reasonable to spend £30 on a game and have no re-sale value (unless you sell your console with it).

Part of being a gamer is getting that hyped game and realising you've been sold a pup. You then sell it to CEX or on Ebay to the next mug and just lose a few quid.

Sony you are barking if you think you'll sell a tonne of these.

However, when they get to £50 might pick one up as a portable media player. Roll on Christmas 2010 :santa:

Actually games are cheaper on the store (~£20), plus you get PSP minis which cost about £5 only. The console is also really really good quality, much better than a standard PSP, and it's just so much easier to take with you. Great piece of hardware, just a little bit too expensive, if it was a little cheaper it would get many more sales.

@product - I'd order but DX has been having major issues lately, with some orders getting delayed for 2 months.

I'm very happy with my PSP-Go, build quality is great, screen is much much better than previous versions, I could not get on with the PSP-3000 screen which had horrible interlacing-style patterns whenever anything moved! I got 4 free games (Gran Turismo, Killzone, Resistance and Loco Roco) and have bought Motorstorm (superb), Tetris (ace), and Fieldrunners (excellent).

Its slips into shirt pocket without poking out like the 'old' PSP did, and is nice and light too. The download time via 802.11b is rubbish so have used Media Go to download stuff, and no form of multi-tasking like downloading something while web browsing, but crucially it does have 'real' controls - too many games on the iPhone are marred with rubbish controls which don't really work - and need real buttons! I've got both so have best of both worlds I suppose now!

This was the case I bought - http://www.videogamesplus.ca/product_info.php?products_id=16356 - should be with me any day now.

I bought a PSP go and am extremely impressed with it. In typical fashion the only people who don't like it, haven't come close to even using one.

I got a brand new go for xmas (£160.00 off Ebay) I have so far been given 4 free games from Sony (as had a slim & lite registered) so have got aroud£80.00 worth of games!!!
I will prob sell the slim and lite but might keep both!!
The go is actually really good, I did not want one until I played on a friend and slipped it in my pocket for size (WOW its small) most people are suprised how small it is (again they never held one or looked at one in the flesh). Battery life is not as good as I had hoped but its easy to charge. I really don't miss UMD's never liked the grinding noise they made and hated carting them around. Anyone who says download is a bad idea must have missed the success of the apps on the IPHONE!!!! its undisputedly successful! .On Xmas day I could sit there and shop for games from my house!!! no need to queue in a shop or even drive out!!!!!!!!
The minis rang of games are nice and always cheap, so too are PS1 games (I am starting a game on Vagrant Story, cost under a fiver!!) Assassins Creed is awesome and Ratchet and clank inspired!!
I do agree though, the Go should not cost £225.00 its a joke thats not even funny. Sony should have launched at around £149.99 or less but also heavily publicised loads of free downloads to hook people in (some downloads are so cheap they can't cost Sony much to begin with!!)
Oh well, nice little gadget but sadly destroyed by poor marketing and high price point.
Only chance for its survival is some Killer games or a price reduction.
I am very happy with mine though.
