A variation of this was posted a while ago, but this has now change. Bear with me, this is a long one!
If you take out a health insurance policy with Prudential, you can obtain gym membership for free, depending on how often you go. Quotes for health insurance start from less than £25 per month.
How does the gym membership work?
You choose you gym from a participating network including LA Fitness, Cannons and Virgin. A £25 activation fee is charged. Now monthly gym membership is calculated on how often you visit the gym. THere are 3 rates...Regular (twice a week or more) Occasional (once a week) Infrequent (less than once a week). Prices are £0 a month for regular, £25 for occasional and £38 for infrequent (with a £5 supplement on each for Virgin gym users).
For the first 3 months, everyone is charged the occasional rate, but after this period, your rate is calculated based on your average weekly number of visits in the previous 3 months. Therefore, if you continue to go twice a week you will pay nothing for your gym membership.
The added bonus is that if you go through Quidco, you will receive £115 which will more than cover your £25 activation fee and your first 3 months of occasional usage gym fees.
Seems like a pretty good deal to me! But remember you do have to pay your health insurance premium on top but I think this is something worth having!
