Currys will be selling slimline Playstation 2s with eyetoys game for £50 from tomorrow (sunday 25/02) morning, when I discovered this not even most of the managers knew so theres a very good chance of getting a console, as you are allowed to reserve them also.

This is nationwide, so I assume it will also be on the website, they will also be selling ps2 games from 47p

If it is online also use this voucher to get a further 5% reduction.

Excellent find :) Thanks pawnstails ;-)

im 50/50 on this one - very tempting.
#4
You could reserve at the higher price tonight £95. Go to pick it up tomorrow - if they have it in stock and try and charge you £95 say you want to cancel your reservation and buy the one in stock at the sale price.

Might work you never know....

what about waiting till just gone midnight?im watching most haunted live and it finishes at midnight, it is worth checking it out

After missing out on the asda deal, I am going to be getting up early to make sure I get this one.

Any confirmation of this deal from elsewhere though?

I haven't heard anybody else talk about it.

There is a big difference - there appears to be stock on this one!!

So certainly does deserve its own thread....

Guys im confused a little......if i was to reserve it online i would not need to pay but the 5% code doesnt work for R&C and also the item i am reserving does not mention anything about eyetoy? Is the offer purely instore?

lol, you can reserve it at the higher price and buy it at the lower without cancelling. I reserved mine today on my lunch break.
#12
I've not seen anything online but the exact thing I got told in store today was.

'Our slimline PS2 are going to be £50 tomorrow and the ones we have available come with a free eyetoys game (they then went on to demonstrte what eyetoys is which was quite funny lol), it will be nationwide if the stores have stock in' and one member of staff believed that some of them came with singstar but couldn't he couldn't guarntee this as they didn't have any singstar packages in at their store (warrington)
#13
hi which one is it please? i cant find it at £95? thank you
#14
try this link, however instore they said its currently priced at £99.99 so maybe the net one doesnt have eyetoys since, net one is currently advertised at only £94.99
#15
Ta pawsntails, just to add is it the all important silver or black i should be reserving?!
#16
That I don't know I never bothered to ask lol (stupid but my time was running out and it didn't occur to me)
#17
thank you! i am guessing it will be the cheaper one - the black one - like asda....which i missed out on...but there is now great hope!!
#18
Jeeez, £50...it's worth getting one to use as a DVD player.
#19
i hope this is true cos i really want one after i missed out on the asda deal...luckily theres a currys bout 5 mins down the road from me :p

i jus tried reserving one but it says they are doing some maintenence...do u lot reckon they will update the site with the new prices?
#20
I hope this has ruined the day of the punks that are listing the Asda units on ebay. :giggle:
#21
does it include remote? to use as dvd player or can you buy remote?
will it play divx movies?
#22

Not sure, all I was told by staff is the above that it would have eyetoys and be slimline. However I'll be grabbing mine in morning, so will post on here when I get it. The problem is if you wait they may have sold out
#24
are u lot getting confirmation emails when u reserve this. Cos I just reserved one from a store near me, and one thats in town and I havent got a confirmation email for either
#25
The price you pay is the price shown on this website, even if it is cheaper than the usual in-store price

That was taken from the 'Important Information' thing when I reserved mine... Does this mean if it is 50 quid in store, but still 95 quid on site, do I still pay 95 quid? And if i chose reserve and collect, can I not go and buy it, and not pay anything?
#26
u dont have to buy it when u reserve...I think there a time period on how long the item can be reserved.

No, it can barely play DVD's. :P

I have just added my choice of store of reservation and some other chaps details are there! A Mr A Packer! I got his number and email add!!

Whats going on?
#30
i think that sometimes happens with an enclosed network.... not sure if you're not sharing with someone else...

And how sure are people saying that if the price does go down we'll definitely only have to pay the 50 quid, not the 95 shown

I am using a standalone machine with a cable modem only.

User pawsntails' direct link to the ps2 also contained a sessionid in the url, so it could be that users details (assuming you used the direct link from that users post).
#33
it is only the ps2 with the eyetoy packaged in the box on offer as they are old packages apparantly. the stand alone ps2 will still be £95 so i have been told.

You are right just opened a fresh window and everything is normal again.
#35
lol, weird that some elses details appeared from my link, as I'm not a mr a packer nor did I reserve online, i reserved instore
#36
Does anyone know if this will be available in branches of "currys.digital" ?
#37
Interesting.
#38
see my post above
been speaking to a mate who works for currys and these 47p deals etc are for clearing out the old stuff left in the business. there maybe only 2 of these 50 pound ps2's in the south east for example but 1000 goldeneye games left on the whole chain and as someone else has already said, if a currys have got a bargain ps2 then the chances of it finding its way onto the shop floor are slim at best
#39
I got Mr Packer's details too!!

I just thought it was a standard set up but it does look like it could be a "real person"!!
#40
Well i don't know about other stores but Warrington staff didnt even know about the deal, the manager remembered it just as i was leaving the store and shouted me back. They had 3 so i reserved one, my friend did, and I'm pretty sure someonme over heard us and then ordered the other ps2, but before that no1 in their store knew about sale even most staff, so I thought it maybe like this in other stores
