The (discontinued) OLED model is currently on sale in a bundle at GAME. You can buy either the 3G version or the Wi-Fi only version for the same price. You will receive the console, a 16GB memory card and a download voucher for 10 games. The individual links for each bundle are in the first reply. This is a great chance to buy the (in my opinion, superior) OLED model before it disappears forever.

The following games are redeemable with the download voucher:

LittleBigPlanet PS Vita
WipeOut 2048
MotorStorm RC
Little Deviants
Frobisher Says!
Ecolibrium
Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters
Lemmings
Hungry Giraffe
The HD Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character

Wow, that looks like a great price! Anyone with even a fleeting interest should pick one up. It's a seriously good console.

I agree with cannibal. This is a really good price for the oled model, especially with a 16gb memory card. With quite a few good vita games dropping in price recently, this Is a good time to purchase one.

Especially the 3G model! Though the feature is essentially useless, the mere fact that it's there would fetch you a higher price if in a fit of madness you decided to resell.

What games have dropped in price? I'm still looking for a good deal on Killzone Mercenary. Wish I hadn't missed the £2.99 GAME deal for Trigger Happy Havoc either!

Yeah 3G is useless but it's nice to just have, especially considering it was more expensive once.

And well it depends what you see as a good price. Killzone was £12.99 once but now you can get it for £14 if that's cheap enough? Tearaway again was £12.99 but now £14. The Sly Trilogy is about £15, Final Fantasy is £18.85 but you can get it for about £17 using Flubit. Borderlands was £15 but it went back up in price, although it might be a similar price somewhere else. So not a lot but still a decent hand full. Plus GAME stores may have a few cheap ones if you're lucky. Eg. Toukiden for £3.

Went to my local GAME the other day, they have literally one shelf for the Vita and everything is RRP! Same for the Wii U. It's a real shame, the whole shop is dominated by PS3/4 and 360/One.

Think I will pull the arbitrary price of £10 out of my crack for Killzone. At least that will delay it until I can shrink the huge mound of unplayed game a little!

Heard bad things about Borderlands (played it on PC anyway), got Tearaway (platinum I liked it so much) and Sly, not a big FF fan but may get it if it's cheap at some point.

Good recommendations, thanks.

Ah, my GAME store is the same. The Vita section is actually smaller than the PS4 accessories section :| There's hardly any games to choose from.

And that shouldn't be too long of a wait then as I can see Killzone dropping to £10 soon, and fair enough about the others. And no problem :)

This is such a great underrated console. So many awesome games both current gen, ps1 and PSP available. Several of the The indie games in particular are perfect on vita, and several are cross play - fez, terraria, spelunky, tearaway, guacamelle, sine mora, velocity ultra, limbo, monsters ultimate, luftrausers, steamworld dig, TxK, lone survivor, hotline miami, retro city rampage, dragons crown, shooter ultimate, surge deluxe, child of light, rogue legacy, Olli Olli all worth getting a vita for alone

All consoles are dying.

It looks like the future gaming model is software > A gaming OS and you feed the hardware. Steam OS is the first, we'll see how it goes. Rather than the set in stone limitation of consoles, the last generation 360/PS3 were a joke, 7 years of stagnant hardware, although plenty of decent games on those platforms. I think the consumer now doesn't want pc gaming expense but wants flexibility in the hardware. So now we've got gaming operating systems.

Console's are dying??

What a load if rubbish.
The sale numbers for PS4 and even Xbox One are way ahead of already high predicted numbers.

other form of gaming is thriving and if anything is getting non gamers buying a console eventually!

I'm inclined to agree with handheld consoles though, certainly I would prefer it if Sony made games for Android that had the quality of Vita games... chances are they'd have a wider audience too since the Vita wasn't a good seller. 4 million Vitas sold as of january 2013, guessing they haven't broken 10m sales by now, compare that to an SGS5 with 11 million sales in the first month and easily enough power to match a Vita since they didn't have time to bare-metal optimise games much. Then consider every other high end phone and tablet. What chance do handheld consoles have.

Phones are good for puzzle games but for most other games, on-screen controls are no match for dedicated controls.
You can of course, buy a bluetooth gaming pad (I have one) but that adds extra bulk, is an extra device to carry & charge and then there's the fact that phone batteries are not optimised for extended gaming (the bluetooth is extra drain too).

As and adult with a full-size console, I'll only use a handheld while on public transport or while away from the home for a few days so I don't get much chance to play these days but it's easy to forget (as I "mature" ;)) that the primary handheld market is kids...
A lot of kids aren't allowed phones for obvious reasons so I think that handhelds will remain.

As for the quality of mobile games, some are very good but software is very easily pirated on mobile platforms so they might not always attract the same level of investment as the console market.

As for fishmaster's comment about the death of consoles, it won't be any time soon...
An unchanging hardware platform gives a very solid test bed and allows developers optimise their games so you tend to get more stability on console games (EA excluded :p)
I agree that 7-year-old hardware isn't ideal if you want the very latest visuals but the dropping price of the hardware reflects it's age so you're getting what you pay for.
