Use code CONSOLE

The PS Vita is the feverishly anticipated portable console brought to you by PlayStation. Two versions of this ingenious handheld have been released, the PS Vita with Wi-Fi, and the PS Vita with both 3G mobile broadband and Wi-Fi enabled. The PS Vita has been engineered to be the best of the best when it comes to both entertainment and gaming, with this keenly developed internet connectivity also providing an incredible social experience.

The PS Vita has completely revolutionised handheld gameplay with the use of two touch panels, along with a front and rear camera. The front and main screen is a five inch OLED (organic light emitting diode) touchscreen, which provides the best quality visuals possible, all graphics revamped and giving the user a visually stunning gaming experience. The rear of the portable system is a touchpad, creating possibly the most innovatively developed handheld console to date. Combined, this duo have engineered the most unique multi-touch gameplay around, as players can directly interact with their games through "touch, grab, trace, push and pull" motions with the use of their fingers on the pad and screen.

It wasn't the Vita that got hacked, it was the ps3, in order to do that.

@neilwad its only fifteen quid more than that if you get the amazon deal with a 4gb memory card

Really starting to get into my Vita, only bought it because of store credit at Gamestation before they went into administration, but glad I did, really impressed with it. It does make me laugh a little when people complain there's no games for it when it actually has the best lineup of any previous consoles to date in comparrison to it's release date. I remember how the 360 and PS3 started, they were not even remotely as strong.

Pretty good. they say around 5 hours for gaming constantly but as a uni student with limited time, mine lasts a week with just light gaming every day or every few days.

Have to confess even owning one of these the lack of hardcore games is not good to my liking.

The Vita had the biggest, most varied set of launch titles for any console ever.

In my opinion the launch list was decent with quite a lot of AA titles (although no AAA titles just yet) and there are some really nice games coming out for the system as well as pointed out above. However very little of the good upcoming games have a release date at this time.

This is what some people just dont get. Lots of this big hitters were announced but with no release dates or any screenshots/videos etc.

E3 will be tough for sony believe me. All this talk of loads of big games being announced is all wishful thinking. Nothing has been confirmed yet.

"Skype Coming To PlayStation Vita On 25 April"

Posted on 24 April by Manrique Brenes – Senior Director, Consumer Electronics Group at Skype
Skype is happy to announce that the Skype Video and Voice calling app for PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) will be available for free from the “Media & AppsSocial” category of the PlayStation Store from 25 April.

From then, you can enjoy Skype calls on PS Vita. Now you can keep in touch with gamers around the globe while you’re on-the-go as Skype video calling is available for both the 3G and Wi-Fi models.

The Skype app includes free Skype-to-Skype voice calling, as well as high quality video calling that utilizes PS Vita’s front and rear cameras. The Skype app for PS Vita also features a “background mode,” which allows you to run Skype while you are playing a game or using other apps, so you never miss a call.* Plus, with a little Skype credit you can make low-cost calls to landlines and mobile directly from your PS Vita.

Additionally, PS Vita is equipped with a 5″ OLED touchscreen, dual analog sticks, precise rear multi-touch screen, two cameras and a built-in microphone that can be used with any Skype-certified headset.

Please visit eu.playstation.com for more information on Skype features for PlayStation Vita. For feedback or questions please visit Skype Support. Happy Gaming!

*Certain games will shut off network connectivity during use, which will stop incoming Skype calls. Voice and video calls will require a Wi-Fi connection in some countries.
