£30 pounds in Tesco but if you dont have a Tesco near you then I guess this is worth it if you are after a PS2 still.

So heat added.
#2
£40 not bad for a slimline one, plus it's ideal if your old one has gone pop and you have a million ps2 games still!!
#3
worth it just as a cheap DVD player for the kids bed room:thumbsup:
#4
Is this not so when you buy the 'New' PS3, which I've read just doesn't do PS2 games, you'll still have something for them?

Naughty Pirate Pete! Buy original movies ;)

I cant beleive PS2's are still going. Just shows that PS3 isn't having the same market penetration.

Ah, the Toshiba SD-190. Picked one up for £30 from Argos lately, so the same price as a PS2 in Tesco.

Typical HUKD comments list... taking pedantic to a whole new level. If nit-picking was a sport, wow we'd have a championship winning team right here!

HOT. h&r

Actually, if you are going to use abbreviations, you should at least use capitals for the H&R...

:whistling:

Now to resurrect another HUKD special, the Sony vs Microsoft argument. I do find it odd that the 360 killed off the xbox 1 very quickly, whereas there are still 'new' PS2's available alongside the PS3. Although it does work in our favour in that Xbox 1's can be found for £10 or £20 second hand, while PS2's still cost a bit more but are new. Both are quite cost effective routes into playing a huge range of games that, with some exceptions, compare favourably to 'next gen' games.

Wow do people still play on these? Haven't powered my PS2 on for about 3 years!
#24
I just gave my PS2 away to a work colleague lol.
#25
I never had a PS2 so I may just buy one at this price.
#26
Like the idea of this, need a DVD player for the kids room, plus you get the benefit of the games - I have plenty! Dixon50 is yours a slimline? Can I have it - that would be a HOT Deal!!

Use mine for the guitar hero series, can't see the point in rebuying the games and controllers for the 360 - games are much cheaper on the PS2 and if you get the NTSC versions then you can get Progressive Scan - or all the Rock Band series have it by default.

Don't really give two hoots about the background imagery, just need to see the notes coming down!

I've got a Wii and 360 for newer games mind. PES 2009 for the PS2 just looked awful.

I'm actually planning to go back to it and play those games that I never really had the chance to buy when I was younger. I don't really care about graphics, I prefer storyline and gameplay.

they have now gone up to £69.99 went to get one today, bummer........................
#30
Some of the best games ever made were on this console.
Metal Gear Solid 2 + 3
SSX series
GTA series
All can be had for next to nowt.
I still use mine and its not even the slim version, bought it when they first came out. Run the games off a hdd I fitted to it to save the laser.
#31
I still have my fat satin silver PS2 which like the above user, I use to play games off a HDD via HD Loader to save wear and tear on the laser.
