Gamestation (in Stockport) are currently selling pre-owned 120Gb PS3s for £138.99 including a Dualshock 3 controller. Personally thought it's a good price.

Have also checked in the local Grainger Games and they currently have the same model for £139.

They give a 12 month warranty with pre-owned consoles, and you can turn that into a two year warranty for an additional £34.99 I think.

Hmm... wonder how much I'd get trade in for my psp 3000 towards this.

Good price.

CEX seem to offer £50-60 credit depending on which colour it is and whether it's boxed, usually a good guide for what you can get from Gamestation with their price matching.

Just to make everyone aware, there's rumoured to be a price drop announced at E3 - so this probably isn't the best time to be buying a pre-owned PS3.

I need a 3rd ps3 after the others have gone wrong (BR drive & YLOD) so tempted by this but if theres gonna be a price drop at E3 i will wait

Wasn't there just a deal on here the other day about a 500gb western digital drive that's PS3 compatible? I mean I get this would be an out the box 500gb solution, but wouldn't Sony be barking up the wrong tree there?

Heat for the deal. DAMN I miss my gamestation, they shut the one in my town down, just got GAME now :(

Mmm, been in the rumour mill that a newer version may be dropping soon with hardware revisions to prevent hacking as well as better power efficiency. Not sure but price of all consoles is getting nearer to that £150 sweet spot for a second console (that is with HDDs and not the Wii).

nice one

Bear in mind, your buying a pre owned controller with a non removable battery. Who knows how much longer it will last.
#12
Theres also apparantly been a lot sold on in some stores and the users buying Xbox 360s as the XBLive service kept running whist sony wan't and people wanted to play Black Ops and MW2 online.

Pretty easy to replace though if you're able to remove a few screws. Quick Googling have them at £3-4 each.

I fix consoles for a living and have never had a battery fail, they are cr2032's just like pc motherboard bios batteries and should last 10 years.

Seems a good price, a genuine sony controllers alone is £20-£30 on its own, voted hot

Im not saying they fail, im just saying they will inevitably stop charging. Just ask around on some game forums. The point being you could be getting an old heavily used one that wont be cheap to replace unlike say xbox battery packs

Good deal, at this price makes it worth considering over a newbie

Really hope for the sake of your customers that you are trolling, as it's pretty obvious for anyone that repairs consoles that the battery inside the controller isn't a CR2032!!

Very hot deal IMO, almost tempted to sell of my fat 60gb and get a slim just for the massive power savings alone!

I think he means stacked up CR2032 on top of each other to make a single cell.

Replacement batteries don't seem too expensive at all, probably cheaper than the Xbox ones.

This is actually tempting. I've got 45 Xbox 360 games and I only play a few of them, time for a trade-in bonanza!
#21
Gamestation in Nuneaton were offering a 40gb Phat for £150..........Your deal is miles better!
#22
Has anybody found this in any other stores? Hoping it's not just Stockport and others have managed to get one.
#23
Damn just got a fat for £110 (still mainly want it for iplayer and blu-ray anyway plus a few exclusives)
#24
Not been able to find any in Southampton :( Ah well hot deal for those that manage to get it!
#25
anyone seen this elsewhere?
#27
hellohello
is this same package as the new one at £159.99

It's the pre-owned one shown on that page - my receipt showed a price of £189.99 and then a "Price Match" adjustment to bring it down the £138.99 price. The new model on that page doesn't seem to have been in stock for a while.

just rang eltham branch and there not doing it at this price they are £189.99
#30
Don't suppose anyone fancies ringing the Stockport branch and finding out which store they're price matching? Or does anyone have any clue?

Guessing it might be Grainger Games as a lot of these GAME Group price matching offers originate from there...
#31
Expire this deal is not available at any other branch in the Uk and Stockport are now out of stock

Just checked and seems they are matching Grainger Games who currently have the same model in stock (in Stockport) for £139.

But it's a 120GB so the controller won't be that old, unless the place is a bit** and gives us an old lame pre-owned PS3 controller which didn't come with that 120GB :s
