wait after christmas, more better offers,

offers on Ps3 are getting better weekly.

Even bigger sales in March 2009- unofficial ps3 price cut. 2 years ps3 birthday. rumours of big price cut.

Most people will wan't the ps3 for christmas though. Things always go down if you wait, and march is 3 months away. Also I would say this bundle comes with the best games(save lost). Wonder if I could be cheeky and ask instore if it can be swapped for something else.

I think most people this xmas that haven't already got this generation of console may be swayed by the 360 to be honest with the aggressive pricing and deals on that, and the credit crunch hitting hard, its the cheapest option.

Seeing you can pick up at Zavvi a 360 Arcade for the price of a Nintendo DS.

console alone for me, waiting till £200 ish, be it jan or march! skint now anyway!

Yep, you're dead right. That's what I did. Couldn't resist that Game GoW bundle for £185. I was determined to get a PS3 for Xmas but got drawn to the dark (well technically lighter) side.

This deal seems to be best by far if you want a PS3 for gaming, however, like I've said before, go with the offer you're happy with. I'm still determined to get a PS3 eventually, but by the time i've saved i wonder what deals will be around?

P.S. - IMO they should replace the Lost game here, it's just padding, maybe a Platinum game, Heavenly Sword or Uncharted, how much more would that cost them... just few extra quid?

thought electronics were going up in price if anything due to the terrible performance of the pound.
Bluray players are coming down in price i guess but then this is 'like' a xbox and one added together in a more convenient package so price isn't too unreasonable until the bluray player price becomes REALLY low.
Price has already come down somewhat anyway hasn't it? weren't these about this price with 1 or no games on release?

Or just wait till March 2010 as they'll be cheaper then....or howabout March 2011.

(for the record Sony have officially denied any price cut in March)

It's all very well saying that xbox 360's are cheaper than PS3's, but nobody ever seems to consider the price of required additional accessories.

For me to buy a 360, I personally would need to buy the wireless network adaptor (approx £45), xbox live gold membership (approx £30) and the plug & play charge kit for the wireless controllers (approx £12). So that's £77 of accessories that'd have to be added to the cost of a 360, which are all included in the cost of a PS3.

If I bought a 60gb 360 with one of the game bundles at around £180, then bought the wireless network adaptor, plug & play charge kit and 12 months xbox live membership, that'd cost about £255.

Compare that to this 80gb PS3 deal with 4 games for £290. There really isn't much difference in price for what you get, and the PS3 is also a blu ray player. You can also do a DIY upgrade of the hard drive for a fraction of what it would cost you to buy xbox 360's biggest 120gb hard drive.

Perhaps if you have the luxury of having your router near where your console will be, then you don't need the wireless network adaptor. And maybe you don't want online gaming, so you don't need xbox live memberships. In which case, yes, the xbox 360 is cheaper than a PS3.

Tried all the £5 voucher codes online and they do not work with console bundles! read the voucher description so there for works out at £296 online. Lets hope they drop the price later on today!

I totally agree with you.... the thing that initially put me off the xbox was the cost of all the extras. As you say i'm lucky, have router next to TV and online game via PC anyway, so really just after Hi-def gaming without buying a new PC.

The PS3 is certainly the more capable console straight out the box, need more VFM for £300 though, extra controller, more choice of movies/games...IMHO. This deal seems best at moment but i've seen the bundles improve every other week

About time somebody pointed this out. The whole '360 is so much cheaper' myth only applies to the portion of people who don't want/need online play and have no intention of upgrading it in any way.

Yep some people don't really see the whole picture, and thats why I choose a PS3 over an xbox a few months ago, that was before the xbox price drop which made it even more attractive. Least PS3's dont red ring too which also put me off.

everyperson needs is diferent but most will agree xbox still cheaper.
I sold my US ps3 for £280 a few months a go and buy a 360:
I paid £90 for a xbox arcade (after selling Memory and free game on ebay) , £20 to upgrade HD and receive free 3 months of XBOX live . ( I don't need anything else) I bought a packet of 60 bateries in costco that last me more than a year :-D
maybe next thing I will need is a £27 for 12 months xbox live so the total is £137. if you are going to use it only to play games XBOX still a lot cheaper for me. and remeber GOW2 is the best game of any console this year. If I need blueray I will buy a Blueray drive for around £60 for my HTPC and also will be Region free. the real price of this deal after selling the freebies on ebay is £210 . maybe next year with any decent esclusives after my xbox live expire I will consider to buy a PS3 again but not now :santa:

60 batteries you bought, inconveince buying everything seprate just to try and compete with he best PS3.

PS3 is better, those of you poor people cant afford it, course are gona moan and groan and talk how xbox is cheaper and betterr (it aint better). Even with its huge price cut and beenout more then a year early. Ps3 sales have been more.

Continue to post deals for PS3.

Ther will also be huge price cuts in March 2009

I have both and i think the xbox 360 is better but still the ps3 is good and will get better..though my opinion is based on having the 360 for a year more
