Was in Costco Derby today (21.12.10) and they had reduced the PS3 320gb slim & Move bundle to £199.97 + vat (£234.96)
Next cheapest from unknown (to me) on froogle is £269.95
Currys.co.uk £284.99 with choice of one of three games
Play.com (3rd party) £284.99 with one of two games
Amazon.co.uk (sony) £284.99

Thanks and merry christmas

do you have to be a member at costco?
#2
-7 already :) you do have to be a member yes.
#3
please let us all know where you have found this cheaper by the way
#4
why is this cold, ok yes you have to be a member but considering for the price you're also getting a 3-5 yr guarantee with it, you can't go wrong
#5
thank you voice of reason :) we asked about the costco guarentee recently and were told "if you don't feel you have had your moneys worth bring it back"
i know people who have taken back crt tvs, outdoor furniture and 7 year old white goods.
we are not (quite) that cheap
#6
Good deal
#7
well they are getting a bit strict but as depending on who you talk to there, some say 3yrs some say 5yrs, one of the guys said if you stand your ground and say its meant to be for life but you're right who wants to be that cheap, my top of the range sony tv went bust 5yrs in and they replaced that but i decided to take the hit on the 7yr old fridge freezer as yeh thought that would be cheap

cheers rqmusicfan
agreed tdk2bu they are definately tightening up in derby too but i am glad as a lot of people were taking advantage
i do think the membership thing is a bit exclusive but its amazing how many people pay £20+ a year and buy a loaf of bread and 2kg of flora. its there choice though :)

its a bit crap if your not a member of costco let alone live near one...

not livin up to your name are you OP

With only 21 outlets and an exclusive clientele, Costco is pretty prohibitive for the Joe Bloggs of the world like myself.
A great deal if you're able to shop there - but for many not an option hence why the cold votes.

I vote hot, costco is quiet accesable (if you have a useful job) and even taking into account membership costs you still save. Hot for me.

Maybe not everyone can shop there but it doesn't mean it isn't a good deal. It annoys me that people start going on about how they aren't members. Go and join - even with the joining fee you're getting a good deal on this!

And as for the limited number of stores - it's no different from other deals posted if you don't have that particular shop close to you.

Heat from me OP.
#16
great price I paid £284 for this with 1 high value game a few weeks ago

:)
#17
it's a really good price, it's almost worth getting my costco membership renewed.
#18
why don't people who can access costco stores either pay for individual membership OR even better ask some of your mates if any of them are members & ask to be part of their card carriers, costs even less then, that's what I did & quite happy to pay the £13.50 (I think) annually for the chance to grab some bargains.
Oh heat for you OP!
#19
Seconded biggallute :) If you have a friend who is a member they can take two non-card holders in and staff in Derby and Sheffield have never had a problem letting "guests" pay for their part of the shopping on their own debit cards
#20
Needs expired. Asked my brother to snap me a photo of the price label this morning and he says the move bundle has gone

? Please explain what a useful job is and why this is relevant to Costco?
#22
You can usually sign up via big corporate companies, I got my membership, dual if that, 15quid each it worked out. Hot for me :D
#23
Got this for £200 3 months ago
#24
much props, Internetshoppa! Great find, espeically in this weather! How bad was it down?
#25
does the VAT back offer also apply to this?
#26
this is rubbish... it's only in one store ... and they don't price match... why are people voting it hot ?
#27
had a long chat with customer services at manchester
none such package at manchester, none in chester, liverpool or oldham either.
derby does have them burt only 4 more left as of 1800 hrs today.
needless to say.. i m feeling dejected...
merry christmas guys

costco give you a 2 year warranty on electricals and 5 year warranty on tvs.
#29
Cheers Trilink - i'm glad someone is happy
Gigaquad - no
Wyabcp - how do you know its only in one store?
drskm - thanks for confirming derby still has them google maps says its 66 miles and 2 hours on the a515 from the manchester store. you can even call in at mine for a cup of tea on the way back
hadobian - it isn't that clear cut. as stated earlier i know people who have returned white goods after 7 years. the two years for cameras, camcorders, laptops, computers etc as far as i am aware. a games console would be subject to normal costco warranty as far as i have been led to believe

i bought a black wii motion plus bundle from costco for 99.97 plus vat a few months ago but didn't post it as i was told it was store specific and only three left. i was lead to believe this was in other stores

genuinely I didn't mean to ruin any ones christmas

The display price tag was still showing this deal in Cardiff today

Thanks OP, grabbed one of these at the Costco in Croydon. Was two left in stock after I got mine for anyone else looking.

you're right about the TVs but wrong abt the electricals, laptops have become restrcited I can't remember how long they are but a PS3 falls under their general warranty which technically means for the lfe of your membership but as you'll notice from the earlier posts they've started getting a little strict and started quoted random figures like 3-5yrs,

a mate of mine who works there says if you just stand your ground they will accept the guarantee is for the ife of your memshership as that is their company policy

Anyone know if this deal is still on and how good it is?

Only asking as my brother has got enough cash from christmas to buy this, but im sure that u saw ps3 selling for £180-£190 on zavvi ebay not so long ago. I dont really know too much about consoles but this is a lot more than that.
#36
if you are a costco member and have stores close to you your best bet is to ring them to check stock. i imagine there will still be stock in some stores as they only reduced it last week but it wasn't in all stores to begin with apparently
in terms of how good it is. saves you around £50 on other outlets selling the same package. the console on offer is the 320gb (biggest) with the move
to buy seperately a 320gb on its own is currently £34 more without the move on amazon and the move started pack is on average £40
