Been in the market for a PS3 for a while now and this is the cheapest I have managed to find...without having to use a specific credit card or whatever...

If anyone knows where you can get it cheaper, I'd be very interested to know...

I will give you £50 myself if you can tell me somewhere that you can get it cheaper either online or instore with no vouchers/credit card deals...

well said bigsven, there are far too many ppl on this site who criticise posts, vote it cold and don't back up big talk, let's see if they do this time?
#6
I think people will vote this cold because it is the old 40GB model, presumably with sixaxis controller, for £275.
For another £15, you can get one from Shopto.net, which has the 80GB hard drive and Dual Shock controller.
There's also rumours of a £160 model coming in October.

The only one I'd be interested in is one that's backwards compatible. I'm kicking myself I didn't grab a 60gb model before they disappeared.

You mean 160GB model? One is coming.

There's no £160 model.

There should be. Until retail prices come down to the 'damaged box' arena there will be a large amount of consumer hesitation.

PS games don't interest me (although I'm sure it's a fantastic platform for games), but I want one because it's a good streamer & blu-ray player. However I'm not forking out £250+ only for a blu-ray player + a media streamer (which a modded xbox1 does adequately).

Maybe at christmas time they'll come down to £199 and I'll be on board the PS train :-)

I understand everything everyone is saying - however, if someone was looking to buy a new PS3 today, then they wouldn't be able to get one either in the shops or online for cheaper than my post...

...oh well, I seem to have misinterpreted the meaning of this site.

I had no idea you had to factor in future potential price changes, whether a ps2 upscales, how much a different model was a few months ago and how much any new models might be...

Lets make this simple - if anyone can post a cheaper brand new ps3 online or instore then do so, if not, surely (for what it is) this is a good deal?
