don't forget quidco
#2
Sorry, I am a bit green with Quidco!!
#3
I got an excellent deal with mine right before Christmas, using a 10% off code with Play. I got it for £251.99, but this is a really good deal, too. Well worth it.
#4
I remember this Dixon deal being on a website called pre-order-ps3 from earlier in January, but I never ordered as they were always out of stock.
#5
Can somebody tell me whats so great about this deal? Most places like Gamestation do a PS3 40GB WITH a game for £299.99. By the time you a have bought one £30 game this deal is the same as everywhere else. Voted cold.
#6
tried to use £10 off code but didnt work:x
#8
Guys, is there a deal better than this anywhere?

Please help! :)

Yeah, at about 99% of other retailers who sell bundle deals - like HMV, Game etc.

I got mine with an HDMI lead, Orange Box game(s) and my choice of Blu-ray DVD from the entire selection for £320.
#10
I don't see how a **** game is worth £30 though.

So I can go to game and buy the console + a game which would cost no more than £25-30 and pay £300... how is that better.

Not bothered about a blu-ray title really. Have orange box on the PC, and have a HDMI cable sat in my desk at work.

Thoughts?

Gamestation is £299.99 including ANY game :p

Makes an excellent blu-ray player, and then you can get some games later on.

But yeah, if your after games most places have better deals. Amazon have got a smashing deal for £350 you get a PS3 + 3 top games.

That's all a matter of your own opinion.

If you feel the deal is right for you, go for it.

Whatever way you look at it, the Dixons deal is not a 'good' deal, its an 'average' one. Even if you just wanted to watch films get the Gamestation deal and trade in the game for a couple of Blu-rays!

Would have to agree with Simbak2K that amazon offer the best package for gamers.

Is this instore? As Gamestation website list only several selected titles with their £299.99 deal:

http://www.gamestation.co.uk/discountaddall.asp?discountid=347

If you are interested in bundles, you might like to check out Amazon and HMV:

In terms of just a PS3 without any additional extras, I believe this is the cheapest if you include a voucher and Quidco.

Good deal, although Sony are widely expected (rumoured) to drop the price of the PS3 soon.

HeHe..this runour has been going around for a few months...i suppose eventually they will drop the price but not for a little while yet.;-)
#23

what games were on offer with the asda deal?

At the time RFoM & RR7 but now Lair and RR7.

The way I worked it out was RR7 worth £30, controller £30 or thereabouts, so £240, then got QuidCo (£8) too.

In essence £232! :-p
#25
Would the 3% egg cashback work with this as well?
#26
So this is the asda deal?

http://www.asda-electricals.co.uk/shop/product/sony/playstation/black.html?

30 quid more (well 35) is good?! Any codes?

Edit:

Cex pay £16 for Lair and £13 for ridge.
#27

Yup - depends on whether the games are worth £30 to you if you want to keep them (best price to buy them); or you want to sell them. (checkout Ebay too - you may get more when selling)
#29
This is a pretty good deal considering a lot of places will charge £25 postage on top.

Plus it does a stonking job of blu rays, so worth it just for that.

20gb - Black shiny strip
40gb - Silver matt strip
60gb - Silver shiny strip

what is it witrh companies - first the "premium" 360 has that awful tacky silver drive fascia whilst the basic model had the much better looking plain one and then sony giving the 20gb PS3 the best strip, whilst the other models look like some garish nightmare... =]

They DID reduce the price a few months ago. This is a new rumour, of a price drop to $299 in the USA (which will probably be a £200 price point in the UK).

September and March are the time sony usually drop prices in europe, so maybe worth waiting a couple of months if you aren't desperate.
