Is this gonna be another one of those where Additions decide (in 3 months) that you weren't eligible for the discount, and charge your card anyway?

Suggest you read the relevent thread and the 20% voucher thread recently posted http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/189255/20-discount-excluding-electricals-o/ - plenty of people have used it recently and successfully for high-priced items. Voting cold for no reason is just pathetic, if you have a cheaper deal then please post it for all.

with all the damn game installs is 40gb enough?

I've voted hot. As a game bundle console its very good.
It might be the Gt5 prologue console (that comes with GT5P) so that is why they arent listing it.

Also, usually Warhawk from the shops comes in a pack with bluetooth headset. It doesnt indicate it, so possibly another bonus.

Also, you could probably get 50-60 quid for all those games if you dont fancy them, so bring that new shiny console inc. Quidco, etc down to a nice £250

40gb is enough and you can evetually buy a 250Gb disk off ebuyer for £51 if you wish.

I have 10 movies (avi) on mine, about 12 demos and at least 1, maybe 2 games with large installs and stil have some room left.

Recently isn't my problem.
The thread you refer to is only a month old, the cases (that are well known by now) had their discount charged back many months later.
All the cases, where people have been charged for the discount they weren't eligible for, the purchase went through the checkout with the full discount applied.
It was many months later people started getting surprise deductions on their credit cards, and with the various trading standards departments still undecided (some find in favour of the customer, others in favour of the retailer).
The big problem is, using a discount code that's not meant for you is always going to have some element of risk involved.

Order it now, and let us know in six months whether you got charged for the discount you shouldn't have received.

I've had a good many posts voted cold, purely because of the retailer.
Why should this one be any different?

Can we all have your personal guarantee you'll pay us back, if Additions decide to collect the discount we shouldn't have received?

Because if you read the latest 20% voucher post, people have confirmed receiving the discount - I don't see any complaints of not receiving the discount several weeks or more after being ordered :whistling:

If YOU read it, and READ my comments, you'll see they have been given the discount, and I say all the affected purchases went through WITH THE DISCOUNT APPLIED.
The entire post is only a month old, and none of the posters say when they purchased, so it's very difficult to simply assume they purchased six months ago, and haven't been charged for the discount.

Oh, and the :whistling: thing.....Could you be any more cocky?
I see this as you simply sulking because your post has gone negative!
#12
Well you came on and almost immediately invited cold voting by berating the deal, without knowing whether you're right or wrong. Only 6 weeks ago another poster put a similar -but not as good - PS3 package offer from Addtions which reached over 500 heat - I didn't hear any complaints afterwards of not getting the discount from that thread! I'm sure too the mods would remove the discount posts for them if they weren't honouring them, there's enough of them about.

At the end of the day, it's a bit like the misprices threads - if you get the product, then you've bagged a great bargain, if not so what, you haven't lost anything. Voting cold just deprives people from maybe getting a good package deal.

But with the added complication of actually having the product, paying the mis-price, yet getting the retailer chasing you for the extra some months later.

The "six weeks ago" deal wouldn't have had time to result in the chargeback from Additions - Maybe give it another 3-4 months!

I remember one of my Pixmania posts going negative very quickly (with you being one of the negative posters), even though the price was a good 25% cheaper than anywhere else (at the time).
The reason it went negative?......People not liking the way the retailer does business.

As for this post, it's getting even more negative, so it isn't just me that thinks this retailer is a slightly dodgy place from whom to buy stuff.
As for the price - It's a very good one, but since when (on here, anyway) did a good price have anything to do with a negative or positive result?

Might as well expire then as everyone seems to think they won't get it.

Oh they'll get the discount.
Whether they get to keep the discount is another matter.

There is, of course, one way to ensure you'll get the discount (if planning a major purchase like this).....Register on their website, send off for a catalogue, and don't order anything.
Within a matter of a month or two, they''ll be offering you increased levels of discount to get you to start shopping.
Wait for the 15% or 20% discount, then buy one :) (which is exactly what I'm doing - the last discount voucher came in at 15%, so I'm waiting a little longer to see if a 20% one turns up).
