Go ahead, people wont beleive you, and i will still make my profit.
#10
don't you lose 10% selling on eBay - £400 less 10% = £360
so not that much of a killing
#11
Actually by doing market research on ebay the average selling price is £450 for just the console. I would make £83 per console and probably atleast £15 per game. Voted HOT!
#12
if people r mad enough 2 pay mad prices, gd luck 2 u.

that doesn't make any sense - they can see the link, I'm not asking them to trust me.

As I said, hope you lose your shirt on this, and every other deal you strike after seeing an opportunity on here.

Fancy that....the hogs on here shove their noses in the trough and there's none left for anyone else...Thatcher would be proud.

#18
Thanks for the deal, I ordered one, most probably for personal use. I'll definitely sell the games on though.

still shows in stock for me

As I remember Empire Direct have a habit of not updating the website when an item goes out of stock - they send you an email of phone you up after you have ordered and let you know all the stock has gone.
#21
Yeah ive had that happen before, couldnt resists this though, ordered. bargain compared to what the 40GB is selling for and with the games as well
#22
The website allows me to checkout but your better off checking the stock levels first.

I feel sorry for you...with an attitude like that you must be a very lonely bitter person.

Ha ha - very good.
Me thinking you're selfish and grasping makes me lonely and bitter? I'm sure that makes sense in your head.

Quidco has tracked for my purchase £6 ish off...

(trying to keep this thread on the straight and narrow :whistling:)
#26
if someone wants to make money why object
#27
When people come on here with their little winky emoticons saying that they've bought loads and hope to make a killing, what they're actually saying is "I've got loads and am hoping to fleece people who didn't see this deal".
It's a disgrace - the laws of supply and demand say that when there's a lack of supply and demand is strong the price goes up. So these people try to ensure that they control the supply and can screw people on the price. It's selfish and should be called when you see it.
"Capitalist society mate, communism didn't work" is the most common reply to that, but THIS site is a sharing site, where people post to tip off others of a good deal, it's the very opposite of selfishness, and so when people use it for selfish means, I think I've got the right to have a pop.
#28
Some very bitter people on here tarring everyone with the same brush, Judge not lest ye be judged! I dont give a toss if someone buys 20 wii/psx or whatever the in demand item is, and sells for a profit, if they have debts or bills they need to pay who are you or anyone else to moralise about them screwing people? Id rather people make money from selling a few wii or however many they have, than selling drugs. Buyers will pay what they want to pay, because they can. If they are stupid enough to be pressured into it when they cannot afford it thats another matter. Its their choice at the end of the day no one is forcing anyone to buy.

lol some people dont seem to understand business here...

Every product you buy has markup on it.

I doubt people would have to do stuff like this for extra money if it wasnt for rip off britain.

And this site is not the very opposite of selfishness, there is alot of selfishness here, alot of deals exploit the retailer to get the prices... even if the retailer does make it possible, this site makes the methods public. All the misprices etc that this site tries to get people... its not exactly moral, but no one cares because they are "big firms".

So whats wrong with normal people exploiting the normal people, if normal peope are allowed to exploit the big retailers?

I personally would have no issue with selling stuff on ebay for more money if i had the bottle to do it, i know i need the extra cash, hence using sites like this...

Everyone has an equal opertunity to buy these products... If you miss it, its just life!

Still in stock btw... so seems a bit fishy.

I have already found a PS3 60gb for my desperate uncle this week, and to be fair it wasnt much effort, it took 2 days. So if anyone cant find a PS3, your not trying hard enough.

I thought I was reading MSE for a moment. Other bargain forums ban users that gloat about multiple purchases. I thought this one had a little more class.

There was a time when everybody got a bargain, but it's been ruined by the profiteers.

Keep dreaming.

If(Big if) they did, then the ones ordered yesterday can simply be returned and money refunded.

Chris your exactly right, me selling stuff on ebay is no diferent to you popping down to tesco to buy food, or down to argos to buy a tv. Its just because i am an individual that its seen as evil. I am a student with limited funds, i need to make money to pay my bills, when i see an opportunity i take it. And comments like "As I said, hope you lose your shirt on this, and every other deal you strike after seeing an opportunity on here." are just uncalled for.

Who would actually wish that on anyone apart from a really evil person?

Oh and i didnt buy 50, i bought 2, i could have bought more, but i thought i would leave some for other people.
#34
that's fair enough if you think about it! You can buy the ps3 40gb now anyway and the 60gb has been in stock for ages. People now are just buying them beacuse there rare and not because they actuall want them. i got mines at the original price of 425 and can probably got 450 now but wont sell! If people were ignorant enough not to buy them before knowing that a shortage was coming, they should pay more!
#35
******! Doesn't look they have any stock after all, so my order won't get honoured! :(
#36
Thanks to OP. Ordered one, time will tell whether it comes or not! Now have 360, Wii and this! Not even into gameing much, love the Wii for the kids, got the 360 free from a friend and want this as a BluRay player. Anyone want a 360?
#37
I phoned their customer sales number 0870 120 1122 to see whether my order was going to go through. Got told they were out of stock and wouldn't have any until after Xmas.
#38
There is a 01 number for that 0870 one - 0113 2351770. I called them to check if mine went through, i ordered it last night and it hasn't. He said they are on minus 100 whatever that means. He told me that was the last of the 60gb's ever....but he may be wrong...
#39
sony discontinued the 60gb version so unless a supplier finds a crate of them in the back somewhere, they wont get any more
banned#40
I've got a 60gb could sell it for more than i paid, but i really dont see what the big difference is between the 60 and the 40 unless you have a huge collection of ps2 games that you still want to play, in which case i dont see the point in getting a ps3 at all if you arent going to make the most of it. As for memory size you could get a 40 and fit a 250gb drive forless than you would pay on ebay for a 60.
