GLad I'm not the only person that thinks the gloss black PS3 looks better than the cheap looking new one..

A great price for a great console.

they all are to some point mate
#7
but is this qute resistant against it or will it fail quite quickly?
#8
wow, think this might get a little warm in here. Great find

The "Original Version" is 60gig with backwards compatability for PS2 games more USB slots and card reader. The Phat models after that look the same but simply aren't as good as they have less features, plus all the "non slim" models are prone to YLOD and the joypad is not a "Dual Shock 3" it's a "SixAxis" which are a cheaper version without the rumble feature.
Worth £150?? i doubt it but you can at least upgrade the HDD easily

It looks tacky compared to the original ones with the chrome trim. Plus, the old models are noisy as hell, where as the slim stays at a constant low noise level, and considering its stowed away under a tv, looks dont concern.

Saying that, the design is a lot better than the tacky new chavtastic 360's (the glossy 250gb version that is). The touch sensetive buttons are literally the worst thing ever implemented on a console. Want to plug in a USB cable? BOOM console turns off.

Only the very early consoles were prone to it, and it was still a rare occurance, with most consoles that died lasting 2-3 years before it finally happened, unlike a certain other console.

WRONG

NEW 80GB Model! Now comes with the Sony Dualshock 3 Controller.

Did you even look at the item ?

I personally think the original PS3 looks at tacky as hell compared to the slim (despite the extra USB ports and memory slots), the silver trim makes it look cheap and its nearly as big as the old Xbox 1, and consumes far too much power.....however this is a great price for anyone looking for a cheap PS3.
#15
I sorely miss those extra usb ports. I have the slim. This looks a good price

Just buy a 4 port adaptor, that's what I use for any extra usb ports, I tuck the lead under the console so it is not strewn in front and makes a nice neat appearance having four ports at the back and still a spare port at the front for when you need to plug in a USB stick, memory card reader etc.

Still in stock at Gamestation at same price.

I prefered the slim over the phat, the phat looks like a sammich maker.
#24
Not expired - still in stock at Gamestation, my order went through fine.

Actually it is advised as coming with a dual shock 3 controller. This version was the last to be released (along with the 160gb version) before the slim became available. It is less prone to YLOD because of this.

I hate the old skool Playstation logo with the horrid spiderman font too...whatever were they thinking?

Thankfully all games since the release of the Slim have the much more appeasing logo that fits in line with the PS2 and PSP

Much prefer the Phat PS3, much classier looking, Unfortunately its prone to YLOD, but if its new, it should last a while

The Slim is tacky, the plastic feels like its out of a 1995 Renault Clio, its not quieter either, the Slim has a really weird air cooling system, it needs all the small gaps cleaned every once in a while otherwise it will soon sound like a lawnmower
#33
Seems to be back in stock at gamestation

You got a HDMI cable? That's ****, mine only came with the standard SCART cable. Nvm, got plenty knocking about.

Looking forward to toying around with mine when I get it set up
#38
Did you guys have your sealed in the main box? mine had one sticker over another and it looks like it was opened.
#39
Mine had the main seal still intact and then another smaller seal on top of that sealed. Mine definitely hadn't been opened before.

These come with the FW 2.36 - it takes me back to the days of the old system startup and logos. Is anyone else not planning on updating these? I'm using this is a secondary PS3 as I've already got a slim.

mine was a box within a box , the inner box had been opened
