This game needs no introduction, so i won't bore you with it, but for those who don't know and have been hiding under a rock, this is one of the most sought after games of the year and is a must buy for any shoot em up fans.

Coolshop is now accepting preorders at the new lower price of £37.98 including delivery for the PS3 and Xbox 360, which is about £5 cheaper than anywhere else.
The PC version is also £23.99, which is about £6 cheaper than anywhere in the UK, so there's only one place to purchase Modern Warfare 2 this year.

Don't forget there's also 5% Quidco cashback, making this an unbelievable deal on a game that is a must have....unless you want to be an outcast online lol

Hope that helps. :)

As Winspiration mentioned:

£36.09 with Quidco for PS3/360 version

£22.80 for PC version with Quidco.

This is going to get hot! Although this is quite pricey for a game still, it is the cheapest around!

£22.80 for PC version with Quidco.

Great deal - voted hot. Nearly pre-ordered with these the other week when it was £39.99.

Edit: Also, Tesco sold this for £35.97 and Argos for £35.99 when they both ran 20% off deals, but they both take your money on order, not on dispatch - unlike Coolshop, so this should be scorching! Yeah it's about 10p more than the previous cheapest prices, but at least they won't take my money months in advance :)

thought it was pc version for £23.99 got excited LOL ... still way too expensive at £38

That's the thing, wholesalers know that this will sell at full price, so they charge retailers a premium, as it will sell at any price, as it's the most sought after game and it never disappoints.

cold cold cold, its too expenisve to be a good deal
Do you not understand the idea of this site? It's the cheapest price by a mile right now, so it's a good and hot deal. It's not cold just because YOU think it's too expensive.

Have you seen the prices this game goes for...? It RRP is £49.99, which makes this an incredible deal! Yes developers are been greedy, and £37 may not sound that cheap when other games are closer to £30, but I can assure you this is the cheapest you can get this game for at the min.

£36 with Quidco.

Honestly, I know it's expensive, but I personally think it'll be a long, long time until this hits £30. Look at the price of COD4 now. Two years later and £25 is considered to be a good deal. World At War is the same and has hardly dropped in price. And this will be the case with MW2, if not more so, due to Activision's new price plan.

I've now edited the title and price to avoid any confusion. :)

I couldn't have put it better myself.

You may be able to buy some new games for around £30 but they're not normally of the standard of COD games and this will without a doubt, provide you with 100's of hours of game time, making it literally pennies per hour...and that's definitely good value. :)

im still holding out for ASDA to do the midnight launch like they did with COD:WAW £27.

hopefully they will get it down a little more to say £30?

RRP is £54.99. RRP of COD5 was £49.99 - I will wait for a better offer.

If that happens, I'll just cancel my pre-order with Coolshop and get it from Asda. Win-win. But if Asda or some other supermarket doesn't do a deal, I don't want to be stuck and looking at paying £40/£45 for it.

You don't think £17 off RRP is a good offer then?

You can't expect one of the most anticipated games of all time to be picked up for peanuts.
#14
hmm.. Still too expensive.. Might get the pc version, rather than the ps3 one..

That's why I mentioned the PC version as well, incase anyone thought it was too expensive and doesn't need to play it on a console. :)

I don't know if they will though, as the supermarket offers are sold as loss leaders to attract customers for other products but I say it's probably best to preorder it from Coolshop and if word spreads that it's cheaper elsewhere, then you can always cancel ther order, as Coolshop doesn't charge until the order is ready for dispatch. :whistling:

I didn't say it wasn't a good offer. I said I would wait for a better offer, as I am entitled to do. COD 5 was highly anticipated and there were a couple of offers at launch time.

Anyone know if Coolshop deliver on or before launch date?

And there was me thinking that the RRP was high because of the quality of the game and the development costs...:whistling:

I think the RRP is there because there cheeky and they know people will buy it anyway.

At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!
#21
Whats the delivery like at coolshop? How many days do you think it will take to be delivered?

lol!

In all seriousness though, i'd pay £55 for it. The only game I've really played on my PS3 is COD World at War so for me MW2 will also get plenty of usage. for people who buy lots of games then £55 is probably a bit much! At least it will retain a high value on ebay. I just sold Modern Warfare for £20 after buying it xmas 2007 for £37. I got more that £17 worth of play time from it!

They normally take a couple days but the preorders arrive the day before or on launch date from experience with myself and friends/family. :)
[mod]#24
good price but already ordered mine from tesco as stated.(PS3) have some heat
#25
This definitely deserves to be a lot hotter. It's only about 10p off the cheapest price of all time, and those Tesco and Argos deals went pretty crazy.
#26
The only reason its getting this much attention is the artificial price hike by the publisher, really its only 2 quid less than a normal high street price for any game.

hopefully this time the campaighn wil be longer

A lot of people didn't like the fact that Tesco take money straight away though, so this deal is good for those people, like me. Difference of 12p when Quidco taken into account.
#31
Went to buy, but the whole payment stage is a bit borked. Half of it seems to be in German, and it said payment approved then took me to a screen where it said declined. I've bought a hell of a lot of stuff online, but this has really put me off Coolstuff, so I won't be trying to sort it. Fail.

Not that it matters when you get down to pennies... but Quidco also gave 7% off of the Tesco full price of £44.97, so I got £3.15 off of the £35.97 price...so final cost was £32.82.

So difference of £3.26 lol
#33
Im planning to do the 10.30pm queue. :) Usually a good laff with the others. Will be cheaper at Asda too i reckon....i hope
#34
thanks OP, been resisting the pre-order for a few weeks, at this price I couldn't resist any longer.

Think il hold on for another deal as good as this one is

Haha, I'd almost agree with you.

As good as Modern Warfare is, its horribly overrated. Yeah its a decent game, but not SO good that I should be expected to pay £10-£15 more for it than any other game. RPGs, sports games, RTSs, even other shooters have provided me with countless hours of entertainment, yet I'm able to pick those up for reasonable prices.

I'm not buying this game until its either reasonably below £35 before christmas, or less than £30 afterwards. I refuse to be held to ransom for a videogame, and if more people did the same then we wouldn't be paying these ridiculous prices.
#39
"Low" price?
#40
I've pre-ordered at Game for £40.99 and I'm sticking with them just because I've always had games delivered before release day or on release day every time. I'm still voting this hot though!
