Looks like a very good deal with 2 of the best games, the deal it starts on Friday.

Sony PlayStation 3 PS3 Console with 40GB HDD
PS3 is the most advanced computer system that serves as a platform to enjoy next generation computer entertainment contents in the home, realised through the combination of Cell and RSX processors. I hear 'The Club' has followed the trend of multi platform games performing worse on PS3 than on Xbox 360.

This is still a hot deal for the most future proof and fully featured Blu Ray player available tho...

Don't know about Ninja Gaiden but Drake's Fortune is a very good game so yes very good offer.
voted Hot!

i may have dreamed this but isnt there a new special edition ps3 coming out over easter? if so perhaps better deals then, however voted hot as 2 hopefully decent games and console for that price is outstanding

Not surprising as Bizzare Creations have quiet a bit of experience on the 360 hardware with PGR 3/4.

Anyway, I heard DMC4 and Burnout Paradise perform better on the PS3...

Thanks for the heat. :)

Do you have proof of this? I have searched online but can't find anything apart from the psn issues. I have a 360 and PS3 but I've ordered both versions (will sell one on).

Most EA games were **** on the ps3 compared to the 360, however that seems to have changed with Burnout and Capcoms DMC.

I like this deal but is it worth waiting to the new models come out and get a beat deal on this (dont care about backwards compatibility as i havent played a console game since ps1)

ps3 version not as good...

Good deal, though I got the one during the recent ASDA promotion - Burnout + FIFA games.

This is a PS3 + games deal, what does an Xbox 360 have to do with this thread?

Well said. Surely it's a thread for people who have decided they want a PS3 now and are looking for the best deal they can get at the moment. It is 100% certain that there will be a slim version and a price drop in future, but nobody knows when - it could be a year.

Again...how? Is it your opinion? If so, it doesn't really matter.

No doubt there will be a newer model released with a bigger HDD, but they are so easy and cheap to replace (standard sata 2.5" drive) it is really not worth waiting.
#14
Right.

DMC4 is equal on both...Capcom to alot of time to set that right....Burnout was created for the PS3 and ported over for the 360. So naturally the PS3 is slightly better. But its almost unnoticeable.

Remember cashback is now available.

Very Tempting!
#17
good price - im tempted as with my student code it would be £285 - and with cashback on top possibly £270ish - for a Blu Ray Player thats decent, plus 2 great games.

cashback how,

Drakes is stunning and something the 360 will never be able to achive. Must own title.

1 million ps3s sold in the UK now, faster than the xbroken. Dont belive all the bias from US controlled blogs, this is Sonys year.
#20
What is the PS3 like for say streaming DVD or Divx from a PC (connected wirelessly to a router) somewhere else in the house to the PS3 which is connected (wired) to a Linksys 54G router
Is this arrangement possible ?

Superb deal. The PS3 deals are basically better than the Xbox 360 deals now. Although there are maybe better games on the Xbox 360 right now things will change over the next year. Not least once the number of PS3 sold over takes 360's sold later this year. Plus, now that Sony has won the HD fight they can concentrate fully in pounding MS even further by beating them with the PS3. The only way to do that is with games so expect Sony to start subsidising games companies to produce some pretty amazing games over the next year.

For those willing to wait I saw this in T3 this month. Due out probably in time for Christmas.

HOT deal > personally, i'm waiting for the White PS3 to come out [match my PSP & X360] :)

but why did the above poster have to go & spoil the comments section?
do you have any proof the X360 will never be able to achieve the Graphics in Drakes Fortune?
also, both consoles have good games coming out this year > i think it'll be close, but the PS3 will gain quite a bit of ground by the years end [& because its the best Blu-Ray player]

Very objective...

It is a good price, I have to say.

With the online mode, Xbox Live is in another league compared to what PS offer. It's a wonderful experience even though you have to pay for it. There's no games except the new Metal Gear game that intrigues me for the PS3 to be honest. Metal Gear is no Gears of war though.
#27
funny how these deals always turn in to console banter/wars - geez grow up fanboys

great price tho and drake is probably the best ps3 game to date I have played yet on the machine (i get multi format games on 360)

voted hot
#28
Hot deal. Fanboys please go home, there is nothing for you to see here.;-)
#29
Voted Hot - PS3 with two new good games at a decent price.

I'm still waiting for the console to hit £229 or less before I buy one, Which will probably be 2009.

The differences in games on either the ps3 or 360 only matter if you have both consoles.... Why it needs to be brought upin a thread for a console is irrelevent.

stop being such a fanboy you idiot. The graphics infrastructure on the 360 and PS3 is different which means each console can out perform the other in different ways. Also, the 360 has continued to outsell the PS3 during January in the UK... so come again? lol

Great deal though. Im waiting for this rumored 120gb/160gb edition (although only if it has backwards compatibility for my PS2 games).

Thanks for posting it.

I still the HMV offer is worth considering - I paid £349.99 for PS3 + Ratchet + Uncharted + Spidey 3 2 disc on BluRay + Casino Royale on BluRay + HDMI Cable + £60 booklet of vouchers off various BluRay titles. I don't know if student discount applies at all, I'm guessing not.

Given that Ninja Gaiden was in sales at £19.99 at Christmas and can be had for that on PlayTrade and the like, I think you're better off going for one of the deals that includes the whole list of Sony games (including Ratchet, Singstar, Uncharted et al)

As someone who is platform neutral (WIi, 360, PS3, PSP, DS, Blu-Ray and HD-DVD) I've been somewhat disappointed so far with the PS3, particularly online, but I already have a lot of the big name multi-platform titles on the 360. The PS3 is finally coming into it's own more.

student discount works for it online, dunno about in store

It's ten quid more on line though, although if you're getting £35 off and free delivery then it's hard to moan!
#35
Any deal for the PS3 is a hot deal. They are an incredible piece of kit who's full potential has yet to unleashed. I grab one of these in the old virgin 60gb thread and have to say that they are excellent not just as a console but as an all round media utility.

As with all consumer electronics prices will always drop.

You will not be disappointed:) Blu Ray all the way:whistling:

Voted hot...best deal around at the moment and very tempting but I'm still gonna wait 'til later in the year before taking the plunge.

Don't forgot there is always a chance of being stung for import fees when the console arrives from Jersey, which may make this offer not so attractive. I have purchased lots of items with small value, up to £50 and never had a problem but when you are importing £300 in value, customs may want some dosh! :x

T&C's from play..
# If your delivery address is outside of Jersey, you may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Any such additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you. Highly unlikly, Iv ordered loads expensive of stuff from play (phones, ds lite etc) and have not once been charged any import fees, also have never heard of anyone else getting stung.
