dunno, argos are selling it for £400 for the same deal and teco comes with point things for your s=tesco card.

there are also some tesco codes although i couldnt get any to work with the xbox 3660 elite deal although maybe it is because it is a pre order?

anyway, it would be nice tp know why it is cold.

People voted cold because its PS3 - same old same old. Voted hot myself, good deal.

oddly it is why i posted an xbox 360 elite deal and the ps3 deal

so the fan boys could stick to their own deal rather than get into some pointless arguement on which one is better, worse or looks like

"your momma" :?

if it is a good deal for someone than it is hot, if they dont want a ps3 then why are they looking at the deal? if they can get a better deal then it is cold.

i have noticed recently people voting cold on items they state they have no interest in or dont like:thinking: . they havent judged the deal on wether it is cheaper than anywhere else for the same item which i find very bizarre.

oh well.

seems like a good enough deal. well found. voted hot

Get an elite and watch it break after 6 months, these things are built to last, voted hot because it's a good price anyway, and before anybody starts I have both machines.
#7
voted hot. i think some fanboys are just voting it cold coz "they dont like ps3".
#8
I'm undecided about this, considering £425 is the RRP. After quidco it is a decent deal though and the clubcard points probably amount to a couple of quid.

Voted cold. Same old arguments. I was a big Sony fan, now I'm not. Why?? Because £400+ is a RIPOFF!! You're being conned. The Yanks wouldn't stand for it and they got discounts. We think £400+ is a hot deal, so we will. But not me.

1st of all your not being conned just depends on wat you use it for. as a bluray player this is one of the cheapest bluray players. as a gaming console this has the most powerfull machine out of all consoles and has a very good future for gaming. this console is well built and more reliable than a 360.

Trouble is, even if this console was 1p, lots of people would vote cold. Sony are arrogant, but its just silly how people jump on the bandwagon.

I would have agreed with you at one point, but I don't know a single person who's 360 hasn't broken and all MS have given them is excuses and inconvenience in return.

I got my PS3 from Hong Kong, I joined Sony's UK online gaming network for free and they gave me a free copy of casino royale for my trouble. IMO, this is the bandwagon to be on. :)

Quidco is only 5%, because when you order, it comes from 'Tesco Direct' and not 'entertainment', and remember also cashback is pre VAT

wrong, it comes from entertainment. check the xbox elite thread for conformation.

infact as you appear to be randomly posting wrong things, i went to the trouble of posting soeone who has actually ordered it and got confirmation

neilka
Just to confirm that this has tracked into Quidco as £266.80 x 10% = £26.68.

lol, Id expect a lot more thrown in for £425 mate. A consoles target audience is probably aged anywhere from 5 up to 18 at a guess? The price tag of the PS3 is laughable, how anyone can defend Sony's pricing policy with this console is beyond me. I have a house full of Sony gear, Ive always been a "lover" of everything Sony but no way in hell are they getting £400+ off me for a games console which I then have to spend another £40+ on a game!

Not a fanboy, but a realist. These things are a rip off! Nintendo had the right idea, ok the graphics arent up to the standard of the PS3 or 360 but the games are going to be great fun, as is usual with Nintendo, but the price tag is something people, especially parents, can afford without having to remortgage their homes!

It would seem around 7 million people (when comparing against the 360) and nearly 6 million (when comparing against the Wii) would tend to disagree with you there :whistling: In fact those figures, even though we could question their credibility, do make the PS3 sales look absolutely horrendous!

I guess it all depends on what your needs are - if you're just after a games console then it probably does represent below average value for money. If you do want a blu-ray DVD player though, than you'll find no better value.

Take a look at the latest 360 model - £325 is the RRP and that doesn't even have the HD-DVD addon. The bigger HDD can be bought seperately ontop of a core or premium pack so there's really no point in it.

The majority of these new PS3 offers are excellent value compared to the 360 and are probably worth going for. I don't understand the argument with it's pricing - what exactly is everyone's problem with it. If you don't want a blu-ray player then fine, but don't moan about the price of what's on offer.

Also, where do you get your target audience estimate? 5 up to 18 is probably accurate for the Wii but the 360 and PS3 really aren't aimed at kids, given the variety of titles on offer.

yeah but how many people will be buying a PS3 when it reaches sub £300? The PS3 hasnt been out long so the price tag is slightly high for the 'new factor' premium. I reckon that the console will really start to take off this christmas when it becoes cheaper and people want it more.

Hmm. An educated guess methinks not.

Can anyone tell me how exactly this works? I'm new to Quidco, but whenever I go to Tesco via the quidco website, it takes me to what appears to be a previous version of it and there's no PS3 category.

I tried to set up a fake purchase for a 360, but when it got to the checkout, it wouldn't apply a discount.

If, and its a big IF, Sony do drop the price for Christmas then of course it will sell, also add the fact that many parents these days seem incapable of saying no to their kids. Unfortunately Sony seem to be sticking to their guns with their pricing in Europe, but do you really think theyre going to drop it by at least £125 in less than 5 months time? lol come on get real :giggle: As for the "new factor" premium, can you honestly believe that Sony will be happy at the sales performance of the PS3? yet they still wont drop the price, that in itself says a lot!

If someone puts a question mark after a sentence, what do you think it indicates? ;-) I say "target audience of 5-18" as I doubt even 20% of over 18's play video games, I could however be wrong, I dont claim to know everything :p

On a side note, you dont have to defend your console of choice to me, I like them all and I think the PS3 is a fantastic piece of hardware. I wont buy one yet however as it doesnt offer me anything over the 360, which I already own, and I have no desire whatsoever for a Blu-ray player yet, and when I do it will be a standalone not one built into a console. At least MS gave owners the option of paying a premium for a Hi-def drive that most owners probably dont want.
