Might be worth putting ShopTo in the item description. I'm a 360 lad myself but heat added anyways.

same price at ebuyer(actually ebuyer is a few pence more), both good deals, have some heat :)

edit to add, don;t forget quidco, another 4% on top makes this way better than the ebuyer deal

WHAT? -11?

The ebuyer deal is free delivery but within 5 days! My deal is much better.

With quidco it's actually about £229 and next day, but again no suprise you can't satisy people here even if it is cheaper!
#5
good deal but no quidco for hardware only software!

i have both and xbox is far better ok you have to pay to go online around £30 a year buy you can get as low as £23.99 sometimes much better than the laggy ps3 and kicking out of every other game you play online service is much better on the xbox plus its cheaper to buy
the only thing that lets the xbox down is no Blu-ray player
everyone has head sets on the xbox (as they come free in the box, people are too tight to buy them for the ps) so that means you have the joy of giving the yanks s * * t whilst online too

At this point in time yes, the PS3 has a stronger games line-up than the 360 coming up in 2011.

360 has a great back-catalogue though and has the better online service.

I'd sooner pay the extra pence and get it through ebuyer. Had problems with Shopto in the past, they are a nightmare if anything goes wrong with the delivery!

Strange that it clearly states

'Useful things to know

Cashback is not valid on hardware, bundles or pre-orders.'

but good luck with it anyway

How so? A lot of games these days are multi-platform. Plus the 360 is half the price

I still think the 2games and 250gb from play.com is better deal for £200 then for £40 i am sure you could get a bigger hard drive.

my husband got the PS3 a few weeks ago when it was on the great £168 moderation deal, he has played it a couple of times mainly the GT5 but since then he has gone back to his old faithful Xbox 360.

it purely depends on how you will be using it. if you want something JUST for gaming, id recommend the xbox as it seems to have a much bigger games collection and they are often a lot cheaper than the ps3 versions of the same game. The xbox does have facebook and msn messenger aswell but I dont find myself using them often as my phone can do the same. Live is also quite popular and seems to connect faster than PSN with less errors. Cost wise the xbox is a lot cheaper as you can get a barebone system and then choose yourself what additional parts you want (hard drive, wifi etc)

If you want something for more than just gaming, id recommend the PS3. Its got bluray as well as iplayer/4od/itv player compatibility. Online is free aswell. I find myself using the iplayer feature a lot more. There aren't as many games as there are for the xbox and they do tend to be more pricier though. I have no idea how 2011 will change the games line up but that is my opinion so far. With regards to online gaming, I have tried both xbox live and psn. Id say live is marginally better as PSN lags every now and then. Personally, I dont use live anymore as PSN satisfies my needs.

Another thing to bear in mind is accessories. PS3 accessories can be a bit pricey compared to xbox.

They're contradicting themselves as they say both but the latter being out of the way to the side, most people won't think to look to the right after reading "for all sales".

Op should remove the quidco part from the deal as it's misleading. :)

Used as more than just a gaming machine the PS3 is a VERy good pieve of kit, I have an orginal launch model tha tI upgraded the harddrive to 320Gig, and have put 30+ of my favourite films ontot he hard drive + my fav music, so its working brillaint as a media player, its also a 3D ready blu-ray player and upgating the firmware is easy, as otehrs have stated you have internet browser, free live service (not a patch on the xbox though), I personally think its due another price cut soon, £199 would make it sell like hot cakes. Oh the playTV add on its fairly good if you want to use your Ps3 like a sky+ box.

i think it'd be safe to say this doesnt exist...

Wouldn't it work out better if you got the following:

PS3 160GB Slim (£204.99) - Same CHEC version - Not expired as I received yesterday,
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/sony-playstation-3-160gb-slimline-p/842311

Samsung 500GB Hard drive (£33.59)
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/samsung-spinpoint-m7-500gb-2-5-hdd-33-59-38-38-scan-ps3-compatible/872742

Total £238 - More hard disk space, plus an extra 160GB (from ps3) left over that you could sell or stick into a caddy..?

also if you get a problem with the console like my release day 120gb, they dont want to know tried to fob me off to sony 1 day after they delivered it. needless to say they paid for the collection and return after i gave them a piece of my mind.

In my opinion, others will hold alternate views, if online is your thing - I'd recommend an Xbox 360. If it's not, and you don't mind poor ports, get a Playstation.
Though the Playstation has a good line up, I'm sure Xbox has a lot of secret ones in waiting, not to mention the fact 9/10 mutliplatform games look better on Xbox, most noticeably with anti-aliasing.

What's the benefit of having having more disc space with the PS3?

For my comp, it means more pr0n.

You can copy stuff like mp3 files and .avi videos to the hard drive. Also, if you jailbreak it you can install your backups to it too.

Explain Anti-aliasing without using Wikipedia.
Who cares about poor ports when you have such superb exclusives to play, I haven't needed to buy a multi-platform since MW2.

You could store porn on there 2! and as a bonus when using the ps3 controller you can fiddle with 3 knobs instead of the usual one.

variety is key
