A good price if you have a PS3. I'm sure someone will find this item useful. Heat added :-) xx

nice, heat added

it's just a USB to mini USB cable. You dont' have to buy one where they have labelled it as a PS3 charger cable.
Having said that its a good price.

Yep, and a 2.5 metre cord at that, perfect for keeping plugged into the back of your pc and having that length to charge mp3/psp or whatever else you have that uses mini usb connectors...very handy, voted hot.
#6
A good price. I must have one... The one that comes with the PS3 is well short too.

Agreed. The way my PS3 is currently set up there is no way you can play while charging the controller as the cable supplied with the PS3 is so damn short. I've currently got a strange rotation policy between my 2 controllers - while one charges I can use the other. Fine, until a mate comes along for some 2 player action and has to sit less than a foot from the tv!

This will solve all my problems and its cheap to boot. Cheers!
#8
Excellent price and it a good/practical length.
#9
I bought a 2 metre USB to mini USB from Poundland, if this helps anyone.
#10
Hmmm, I don't recall getting one of these with our PS3.

I think the pound shop in my town sell USB to Mini USB, no blue lights though.

if anyone's looking at this, i reccomend one of these :

http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;-1;-1;-1&sku=628826

they've got a similar cable to this deal, its got a break-point like the old xbox cables (so it doesn't cause damage when you trip over the cable), and you get a spare controller for when your mates are round, for £6 more or something.
#16
How long should it take a controller to charge up? And should all 4 lights be on by the time it's finished? I left mine charging for about 12 hours and it still only had one light lit! First time I've charged it, not being a big game player.

The lights flash when charging and if you have a single light on then it means that it is currently communicating with the PS3 (ie your PS3 is running, not on standby). If no lights are flashing then everything is charged.
I normally unplug my when the lights are no longer flashing, I have two controllers.

1 light = fully charged. 4 blinking lights = charging

Did yocharge from your ps3? Better to charge from your PC rather than leave ps3 on.

I did the first time, yes. Why is the PC better? Quicker, or less electricity used, or will the PS3 explode?

link dont work

Much better then the free cable you get with the PS3, which is so short you can't really play with the controllers plugged in.
#26
Any old usb to mini-usb lead will suffice, i use one i got free with my digital camera from 5 years ago

Got loads of these leads banging around and i'm not a camera enthusiast by any means. These leads aren't even worth £2.40 anyway so cold from me.
#27
Kind of expensive for what is a standard USB to mini cable.

search hmv for 'ps3 controller' - its the one with 'blister' in its name - £8.99 or something

A PS3 uses about 200W of electricity so a bit of a waste to charge from that if you aren't using it (assuming your PC is on of course)

Only £1.30 delivered from Dealextreme.com here :

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.9804

Even at £1.30 i think it's too much ! LOL

Most people will have this cable supplied with a digital camera, etc anyway !

Voted Cold as they are trying to rip folk off by calling it a dedicated PS3 cable when it's just a generic Mini USB cable.

Only benefit i can see from the OP's one is it Glows Blue when charging ......

From a cable that I think I had spare.
