PS3 FIFA 13 £0.01 at tesco instore!

Saw the shelf price of £8.50 and thought it was a bit much for an old game... Took it to the price checker and it's coming up at the much more reasonable price of 1p!

Bought all 147 copies available in local stores.
Reported misprice to Tesco.
Voted cold because it's not a Moto G.
Logged on HUK to brag about it.
Did a funny little dance.

This is clearly a misprice on their system - I have called Tesco Customer service to inform them.

Great find OP, which store of tesco was this in? Heat added xxx
#4
This was in the Corby store... And no, no double the difference ;)

I actually bought this for 1p a while ago and found it funny. I had already paid and received my receipt, but the girl serving thought she might not be able to sell it to me...after I had already paid xD.

By the way, don't bother going to your local and expect to find one, it has been removed from sale. OP got lucky.

Yup, 1p seems about right for 1p. Although I thought 0.5p would also be good for 1p.

can guarantee you when you try put it through a self service checkout / normal checkout it will read not for sale, these items often default to 1p when the company is clearing them from their shelves and returning to their supplier, or in the matter of flowers in supermarkets when they go past there sell by date they default to 1p which the tills wont them go through as a sale for the everyday customer as there seen unwise to sell with a 7 day or so quality guarantee and giveaway free to staff in the case of flowers or manage to salvage the good flowers for local charity organisations, sorry to be the bringer of bad news

Tesco give you vouchers if you report misprices to them (head office, not instore). Had a few £25's and a couple of £20's. Obviously only for the first person who dials in.

overpriced twallop

Most of this stuff is binned when it goes to 1p.

Ah. Should I take it back to the store to get my 1p back, or open and play it?

That's not true at all as many people who have secured 1p,4p items will tell you.

Discontinued stock goes down to 1p if there isn't any of it left, as they just want to get rid of it. Same with any supermarket that puts prices down low.

It's not a misprice. It would be if it was Fifa 14 for PS4 or Xbone

Yeah it's right. My store sold thousands of games for £2 each to staff. They will bin them rather than sell them for a penny but you get lucky sometimes.

I was in my local Sainsburys last Friday and the England car flags that were 9p for 2 were in the reduced section with a 1p label on them, so I bought the last 5, when I got to the till the lad put them through and they came up Not for Sale, so he called the Manager over and she said just void them and give them to me for free.

It makes me laugh when supermarkets have collections for food banks and yet they throw loads of stuff away rather than give it away.

Probably that cheap in Corby as would only be stolen anyway ;)

Hahaha - got myself the last 4 at my local tesco! Easy money, here I come!

Thanks OP! Heat added.

good, got 8 copies of from my local tesco, and resell it to cex for £2, easy money

as an employee for said company . 1p stock is discontinued to be wasted. if this go's to a manned till they should inform you that the item is no longer available.

they would normally not be found on the shop floor.

however any retailer has the right to refuse a sale.

the goods will normally be sold to staff for about a £1 in the internal staff sales where all monies go to charity.

hope this clears up the penny items for you.

They go for ~£8-10 on eBay (New) - I can make about ~£30 for essentially doing nothing. There are always idiots on eBay who buys this crap.

Wrong way round! If you pay more than the price shown on the shelf you get double the difference back. Worked out nicely for me once when I paid £40 for some bedding that was marked up as £20 on shelf. Needless to say I went and bought them all before telling them about their mistake!!

This is not a misprice. Tesco reduce prices to 1p to indicate to staff that they are discontinued and are to be removed from sale. ASDA use a similiar practice were they reduce products to 2p that are to be removed from shelfs. This is just a situation were the store hasn't noticed that they were meant to be removed from the shelf and destroyed. Some managers can sometimes be generous and let you have the item but all comes down to store managers discretion.

What, a couple of quid each, if that, after fees on Ebay? That's not worth anyone's time.
#38
Great price, but I am going to wait until the price falls just a little further.
#39
Cheap as chips, it's a pity I don't have a PS3.

Most of this stuff is binned when it goes to 1p.

Goods such as this and laptop cases etc, apparently go to local charities, according to the man I spoke to in Tesco. He said that I *could* take them, because he wouldn't stop me, but that charity would not receive them. I didn't take them.
