PS3 GT5 Prologue £15.00 - ASDA Living

Went into the ASDA Living store in Lincoln to find GT5 Prologue for £15. This is the cheapest i've seen it anywhere. They had loads in stock. Not available at this price online.

Just thought i'd share the love...

not bad deal for a rushed out mini game :)
#2
Don't see where that comment fits in. ;-)

I'm voting hot!

To be honest for the £20 I paid, 40 single player races and all the online races, it's a bargain.

If people want to use that logic regarding the size of games, then that means most games fail in comparison to Oblivion and the likes. Oh hang on, that doens't mean squat!

For the record I've got a 360 as well and harldy get to play both before we turn this into a playground brawl!

*sighs*

Good find. I shall pop over tomorrow and pick up a copy.
#4
will this not be the same for a normal asda supermarket?
#5
I love racing games, but I really don't rate this.

Not worth £15 IMO. I got it included with my PS3, but had I bought it I would have felt a bit robbed.

Sorry, cold. It's not worth the money - its nothing more than a big demo.
#6
Good find, awesome game... heat added
#7
Great find, n fab game!

Never thought to nip into Asda Living before to look for games, being a bit out the centre! Voted hot!!!
#8
want this but standing firm on principal...WILL NOT BUY A DEMO!
#9
this is going to hurt people trying to sell theirs on in the fs'ft forums lol
#10
im with the majority here, it's probably not even worth £15, please dont buy this thinking its going to be GT5 because it's not, its a glorified demo.
#11
Getting this with my 10% discount tommorow if they have it. Heated anf repped

Paying for a demo lol

Following the crowd "lol"

"lol"

"demo..lol"

Some of you are pathetic.

Great deal, voted hot.
#14
Excellent game, and certainly more than just "a demo" - there's plenty to entertain, and for £15 it's well worth it.
#15
yeah , paid £17.99 for mine and love it , i too got a 360 and play this more than forza 2
#16
anyone who calls this a demo has obviously never played a demo before.

have you guys ever tried playing a REAL driving demo? please download the sega rally, dirt., motorstorm and need for speed demo.

all the aforementioned demos have about one car, one track, three laps, no multiplayer and no setup option.

prologue has considerably more content than the FULL (yes *** FULL ***) sega rally, motorstorm and dirt games. It even has better multiplayer and split screen which some of the aforemention FULL GAMES don't even have and yet people still call it a demo. please be reasonable - 15 pounds is not bad for a game that contains a decent amout of content.

Exactly, its like saying GTA IV is a demo version of GTA V.

I've rented this from Lovefilm and was most impressed - the ability to race other people over the web is a great incentive to keep on playing. It's also got its own 'TV' channel with features on upcoming cars. I wasn't expecting much before renting it but I have to say that I'm seriously considering gettign this now - definitely worth £15...
#19
This really couldn't be considered a demo. It took me about a week and a half longer to complete this than it took me to complete Uncharted, Drake's fortune, and it argueably has more replay value. Then there are games such as Heavenly sword, which can apparently be completed in even less time.
Prologue is a great game for £15, and those that don't buy it because they feel they are upholding a principal of not buying 'a demo', are biting off their noses to spite their faces.
#20
Voted hot- this is a great game!!
#21
I think too many people have got hung up on this being a paid for "demo".

At the end of the day if this was released as a full game, by a different publisher, under a different name but at this reduced price (compared to the usual price of new releases), I think it would have got a rather more positive response!

Just my opinion....

Erm, it *is* a (very good) demo...the clue is in the title of the game ;-)

Good price for those willing to pay. Voted hot

errm, in most people's vocabulary a demo is FREE.

prologue doesn't mean demo by the way.

Just been to my local asda, it's £19.17 not £15.00, so not nationwide i'm guessing?

Ahhh...but will any of the content in GTA 4 make it's way to GTA 5? My impression was that most (if not all) of Prologue will be incorporated into GT 5 "proper". I might be wrong.

OMG...really? Call a rose by any other name my friend...and then stick a price tag on it!

EDIT: If it's a FULL game why not charge a FULL price on release? The publishers and developers KNOW they're being a bit cheeky with this one everybody!

well, you just voted the price HOT so you just contradicted yourself with the game being a DEMO. since every gaming DEMO is FREE. also you said the DEMO description is in the name, well no it isn't since prologue doesn't mean demo. so no, the clue isn't in the title.

I have not contradicted myself...this is evidence that you can pay for a demo. Not very flexible in your thinking are you? :-D

well not really because if a demo is free, which is something you agree with then why do you think it is worth paying for?

When did I say that a demo is free? Voted hot because it's the best price you can get it for. That's all.

EDIT: Can someone confirm if most of Prologue will be incorporated into GT5? If so, it's a demo. Doesn't stop people charging for it.

don't you understand a DEMO is free in the world of gaming. This is a definition of a demo. A free sample to enjoy the actual game.

Have you ever played a racing game on the ps3 or wii?? GT prologue has more content than any (save the awful Need for speed series) FULL price game on either the wii or ps3. So now, do you think GT prologue is a DEMO? The game arguably has more content than any other PS3 racing game. To call it a demo is pretty ignorant. The game is limited compared to GT5 but compared to almost any other PS3 racing game it actually contains more content. Hence, the cheaper price.

A "demo" is a demonstration of what a full product can do. PhotoShop Elements could be considered a "demo" of the full product but you still pay for it. A lot of content does not constitute a full product. Prologue is a euphemism for demo:

Yes, it's a demonstration of what XP Pro can do :p

My point is that "demo" does not equal free.

The GameSpot review pretty much sums it all up when it says "Gran Turismo 5 Prologue may be only a practice lap for the real thing..." and "paying 25 pounds (or US$40) for what is essentially an extended demo of an upcoming game still doesn't represent good value for the money".

But at £15 I think it's not bad...it's a very good game!

ASDA LIVING stores

Very few of these types of stores and definately £19.97 in normal asda. Use the Asda store finder to find one close to you.

voted hot, as someone pointed out earlier, other games can be completed in half the time it takes to complete GT5 and these other games are the final release. Anyway, I was under the impression that Prologue meant introduction or preface!
#40
Voted hot. There is a LOT of gameplay to be had in this one, so anyone claiming that this is just a demo hasn't played it. To complete it fully will take some time, especially when you add the Spec II update. I bought the Japanese edition on ebay about a week ago for 6 quid but for the Nihingo-challenged this is a bargain.

Now if someone can find a similarly great deal for a steering wheel (preferrably one with a clutch and gated shifter :)).
