Yup. I agree. I imagine you'll be signing-up for years of unsolicited snail mail & a credit check you could do without by opening a Littlewoods account.

Well spotted, though at Play.com, Punkytiptop.

A LittleBIGPrice drop of £10 from last week.

Rastards.

Heat added.

I'm off to buy two copies for Christmas presents...

Thanks.

when you say you sold the nariko character on the game or a figure? I have a sackboy figure just wondering if this is worth anything?

I bought 2 copies from littlewoods & didn't have to sign up to any credit agreement, I just rung them up & paid with my debit card. Cost me £42 for both copies, Sold one on ebay yesterday for £32.99 & i also got the limited edition sackboy figure which i've put on ebay & to my amazment someone has just offered me £27.50 to end the auction early as he wants it (whats wrong with some people).

Even after ebay fees, paypal fees & P&P i have my copy of the game for free & approx £8 in my paypal account. This is not a dodgy deal but an amaing deal, Long live littlewoods. :giggle:

Long live Littlewoods?? ... probably not at this rate.
Good deal though and the people who are voting it cold are those pesky fanboys

wow - thats pretty amazing.

Got mine from Littlewoods with sackboy for £24.55, if I can sell the sackboy for £25 the game works out FREE :-D

Great price for great game - especially since Play are still listing the Nariko character with it. Wish I had waited now (£35 from game with a voucher code, no extras at all :( )

And if people are voting cold because they are 'fanboys' (as [email protected] suggests) - presumably coz they are into 360's, not PS3's - then please, get a life. No deal should be voted cold unless there is a better deal available - never vote cold just because you don't like something! Even if this was available at a quid or two cheaper, it still shouldn't be cold, since the exclusive character is worth the extra pennies :)

No, its better than that its amazing, probably better than that in fact - its the highest rated exclusive title on either the 360 or the PS3 for a reason.
#19
great find, thanks very much
#20
strange that the price has dropped on it. I know a lot of preorders were made at around the £29 mark so retailers trying to sell for £39.99 stood no chance. If it drops to £19.99 in the following week then they must have sold all they are going to sell. Ps3 sales for Xmas might also be responsible for the game price being cheaper as it is being bundled to death with console.

you can get most new releases for around 30 pounds. this is the norm rather than the exception.

FYI:

"LittleBigPlanet PS3 Beta" (my comment #9)

More downloadable characters rumoured for this week: penguin, frog, shark, gorilla, and, erm, the free downloadable sack-eating plant.

They have such imaginative names like “Lilly Pad”, “Hugo”, “Great Blue”, & “Frost-E”.

Apparently there is to be a combined “Animals Costume Pack” so you can buy the lot at once.

These downloadable items complement those available last week:

LittleBigPlanet™ Rare Week 1 T-shirt (Game Pack)
LittleBigPlanet™ MotorStorm Custume [sic] (Game Pack)
LittleBigPlanet™ Spacesuit Costume (Game Pack)
LittleBigPlanet™ Halloween Mask Costume (Game Pack)

OK... I'm now officially "with the programme".

After being unconvinced by all the marketing, hype, rumour & speculation for months, the last 2.5 hours of tag-team offline multi-playing with my 6 year old ("Awww... Sackboy... he's so cute") was all that I needed to understand "LittleBigPlanet".

I tried to keep the game-play to myself for the first twenty minutes of the enthralling introduction/credits/tutorial side-scrolling visual wonderment, but gave in to the seemingly constant interventions by said small child's open-mouthed delight, "Did I mention I hadn't had a go yet, Daddy? That's because I haven't!... When is it my turn?... Come on already, give me the controller" etc.

A review of this title based on such a limited time could never do it justice. We only touched the surface of the ‘Planet, and what it will be capable of.

Any review, however, should include just three words... "Just play it".

It IS *that* good.

But those who know me, or have come to ignore me, should realise I do have something further to add.

Do you remember the feeling you had when you loaded up the first "Crash Bandicoot" title on the original PlayStation when the cheeky marsupial turned to you & raised his eyebrow?

Do you recall the many hours (and coins) spent on "Donkey Kong" as the Jumpman (Mario Mario) Carpenter character seeing how 'High can you go' towards the next 25 metre level only to be thwarted by a barrel that was faster than your little legs could carry you?

And think back to the times spent with the same gaming premise but the differing approaches of "Hunchback", "Manic Miner", "Frak!", "Prince of Persia", "Chuckie Egg", "Commander Keen", "Super Mario Bros.", "Sonic The Hedgehog", & "Tomb Raider"?

Well, throw all these happy hours, nay, years of gaming into a bag labelled 'Media Molecule', shake it up, and stick your hand in.

Guess what you'll find... that's right, "CrashKongbackManicPersiaEggCosmicMarioHedgehogRai der"... a very large score at Scrabble, or the PS3's finest offering to date, and more succinctly packaged with a rather more convenient (and memorable) name of "LittleBigPlanet".

It is like all previous platform games you have ever played, but unlike any other game you have ever seen.

It is familiar but highly original.
It is the title that is the current video games console generation's finest offering to date.

All those involved should be congratulated for their vision, design, execution, and by no means least, their ability to capture exactly what is needed to convince everyone that the PS3 is a more than worthy successor to the previous iterations of the Sony PlayStation brand.

It was just earlier today I was saying that the PlayStation 3 "is portrayed as a device for adults, with very few titles for children, or for families".

This title will change everything.
This title is The Next Big Thing.
This title is the past, the present, and the future all rolled into one.

This is Living.

Now please excuse me, I have to go & have just one more go...

fp.

An awesome game. Creating your own levels is easy but takes a LOT of time though.

I have the same question what is this game?

And what is platformers? you lost me there

I heard of RPG, First Person Shooter, Simulation, Racing, Action, Adventure, MMRPG, etc, but platformers?

I would not mind finding out what's all about this game I thought it was a game for kids.

I guess I will have to do some reading into this I could not believe people are saying this is the best thing in the PS3 and I have no idea about it. Until now PS3 meant MSG4 and Gran Turismo exclusives for me.

It was OK, I guess ;)

Apart from the initial hassle with somebody complaining about some words & some music... together... at the same time (even though the combined work was available before being used in the soundtrack to the game) there is a current issue with some user-defined content (levels) being removed because they are allegedly violating the copyright/intellectual property of other parties.

If you do intend to create your own levels & share them with others, make sure you have the bill payer's permission to do so. Don't run with scissors. Do not press this button. etc.

And certainly don't pass an opportunity to own a piece of gaming history in the making.

Just played it for an hour or two and initial impression was that its a cute platform game with amazing visuals but now bored with it so its going on ebay.

Not interested in creating levels myself so I just cant understand why this is so highly rated. Maybe I'm missing something somewhere but the emperors new clothes springs to mind.
