Holding fire cos I guess there will be a huge price war on this one.
#2
Haha, True...

I'm personally looking out for a good pre-order of this on xbox 360 format so if anyone can beat this pre-order I'd actually be a happy geezer :)
#3
i dont know whether to 360 or ps3 on this, im leaning to 360 for acheivements, but i can see this being the next supermarket price wars game £25???
#4
That's a great price! Anyone know if this company charges you right away? Or on dispatch?

I sure hope so.. :-D
#6
Yes companies only charge on dispatch!
I know this because i pre-ordered this item weeks ago, and some companies like amazon do price match guarantee as well, so if you find it cheaper on release day they will match it for you.

few haters voting cold already!

really good pre-order price. Also hoping for the price to drop even more.

but how would this work if u pay by paypal? they have to take the money first i suppose.
#8
4,99 shipping for Europe.... that's a LOT
#9
It's about bloody time they brought this game out.

Re: supermarket wars - I'm not sure the target demographic is as large as say, MW2 etc. Hopefully I'm wrong and they'll fall over themselves to give us this on both formats for cheap, but I'm not yet convinced!

It's a shame it'll be multi-disc on the 360, but I'm still excited. Previously, the Final Fantasy series would have been the only thing that convinced me to buy a PS3!
#11
From previous experience they aren't the fastest to deliver so I would hold out.
#12
When is ps3 final fantasy online due out it says early 2010??

Didnt amazon scrap the price match guarantee?

never heard of them doing that for the price match guarantee. could be wrong!? Amazon states at current "Pre-order Price Guarantee: order now and if the Amazon.co.uk price decreases between the time you place your order and the release date, you'll be charged the lowest price."

Is JackOfAllGames a reliable site? It dounds dodgy to me lol

Im waiting for a good Collectors Edition price, also, undecided between 360 and PS3 - Someone said 360 version is multi disc...Leaning towards PS3 now!

If anyone has both a PS3 and a 360, it would be better to get the game on PS3. Square Enix have confirmed that the 360 version will have lower quality CGI and Audio, whereas the PS3 version will have full HD videos and audio (which altogether amounts to 32GB of data!). The 360 version is also on multiple discs, most likely 3 discs, but Square haven't confirmed anything yet.

I expected that the PS3 version would have a mandatory install, but according to Squeenix, there is no install as the game is using PS3 as the lead platform.

There is apparently not much difference between the two versions according to 1up, but we'll have to see really when the game is released on both systems. If the minor differences, and the lower quality CGI and audio don't matter to you, then go for the 360 version.

I'll probably get this on PS3 just because the blu-ray is much more durable than a DVD disc, because I had a problem with FF8 years ago, where I had to borrow a friends 3rd disc because mine was scratched.

FF8 was on CD :whistling: being on the PS1 an all ;)

price is alright but it'll go lower, have a hunt nearer the 9th of March

Yeah I know, but DVD inherited it's older brother's scratchability (made up word). Whereas with blu-ray, the discs are like brand new, even after hundreds of hours of use. I just don't want to have that problem again.

What was more annoying for my friend was that I kept asking to borrow his game every few weeks because I kept replaying FF8 :-D, so I'm hoping this one is good as I want to replay it often.

I'm gonna keep my TheHut order for a while yet, it's another 2 months till it comes out, if it gets closer to the date and TheHut are still charging as much as they are, I'll switch.
Gonna keep the link in my bookmarks, thanks!

copy to the hard drive on the 360 ;) its all good. plus load times are slower on the ps3

1 disc is nice though although i'm used to multidisc ffs, nobody complained about ff7 being 3 discs

Because they didn't know any better, now obviously if you have the choice of having 1 disk or 3 disks, 1 disk is better.

Also, xbox 360 version is compressed audio and video to fit on the dvds, ps3 is uncompressed and higher quality on a single blu-ray dual layer disk. Whether the difference will actually be noticeable i don't know until i've tried them both.

As disclosed before, Final Fantasy XIII on the PlayStation 3 will featured lossless audio, and 1080p cutscenes, something which won't be present in the Xbox 360 version of the game. Famitsu didn't release the amount of compression that will be found in the Xbox 360 version, but they confirmed that it will indeed be compressed - even though it will be coming on multiple DVDs, it simply couldn't fit. The PlayStation 3 version is going to take advantage of a single dual-layered Blu-Ray disc

I don't know where you've heard that specifically for FFXIII the load times are slower on a ps3 then xbox360  The only load times will be going from a town to a field.

Also in Japan FFXIII is a ps3 exclusive, so i highly doubt they would make it a lower standard then the 360 version that is only getting released in europe and the US.

And if the above doesn't bother you, then just get the game on the console with the controller you prefer, for me, it has to be a playstation pad for final fantasy, i'm used to that.

I've heard this is quite a lot like FFX, and I hated FFX. Absurdly linear A-to-B jaunt with no exploration or fun stuff in between.

Squeenix does seem totally oblivious to why people loved VII so much. :(

Hot price btw.
#24
I do hope this comes down in price a bit more. I'm fed up with having to pay £30-£40 for a new game I want.

Only 5 1/2 weeks left!

Cheesus....

Go check out the trailer http://www.finalfantasy13game.com/#/uk/media/trailers/international-trailer

I now want a ps3. Havent missed a Final Fantasy since 7.

I despised FFX, simply because I couldn't navigate the world map in my aircraft properly. I need to have another 'Island Closest to Heaven' and 'Island Closest to Hell', not to mention the various other 'hidden' areas to find as a result.

Ten lost it's touch because of that in my opinion, along with the dark aeons blocking your progress at the end of the game - it became FAR too much of a grind for me, at that's coming from someone who simply always must get to level 100 (or equivalent) in a play-through.

I really hope this one isn't the same ...

Thanks abel_8 for the brilliant deal, your post has been featured on Dealspwn, the Hotukdeals gaming blog. Thank you for all the great deals!

Yeah people just don't seem to GET that.
#29
I've heard reports that the game looks noticably nicer on the PS3, according to people who have played the 2 versions of the game side by side.

Sadly, from what I've heard, the gameplay is a bit of a mess, and sounds like it has been gimped down to accommodate 360 owners, which was always my biggest fear when I heard the series was going multi-format.
#30
How long should I hold out in case Tesco do a very good deal? Like when do they announce their prices?
#31
I'm wondering the same thing. I want it on launch day, but i'm not paying more than £30 for it!

Yep, sadly all the stories are now appearing about the "doctored" 360 screenshots, anyone with both consoles should definitely get the PS3 version.

I have both HD consoles so should I also buy Bayonetta and Bioshock 2 etc on the 360 then ?. as that is not going by some news story these games are out and we know they perform best on the 360, why have you not recommended any 360 versions over PS3 versions of any multi format games to us dual console owners ?.

I am more concerned with how the game will load on both systems and how it plays(360 has 2 disc changes throughout entire game we don't know if we are going to end up with another MGS4 load system on the PS3(I would rather do the disc swap than have to go through all the load waiting and then install parts as in MGS4).

So I will leave the Unsound news story's and recommendations to the fanboys and will make my choice when I see them both running for real....

In previous multi-format games you have recommended one version over the other, i'm doing the same, all signs point to a superior PS3 version, i have heard nothing (yet) about mandatory HDD installs, however the other stories about inferior graphics and cutscenes DO make a difference if you own both, i haven't bought a FF since VII so i probably won't buy this one. The small installs on MGS4 make no difference, better to have 5 x 2 minute installs than 1 x 15 minute install. There is a reason why they never ported to 360.:whistling:

You really are the worst type of fanboy,, as for the MGS4 load time installs you have quoted there are you sure they are 2 mins !!! we are talking the same bit where he smokes the fag right ? " I will have a look later" I may be wrong but I am sure I waited a whole lot longer than 2 mins before I could continue.

No one said anything about the game being bad so why are you taking it in that direction ? Isn't that also what they also said about FINAL FANTASY XIII before it was announced for the 360 :whistling:

You see this is another example you have already used this excuse in other posts when you try and justify what you say, "Oh look you said something so why can't I"

You know full well at that time when I said that(MANY MONTHS AGO) it was to a now banned member who was constantly trying to disrupt every 360 deal but that is neither here nor there as since December I own both consoles so I know what a fanboy is,maybe I was one for mostly commenting on anti 360 posts on "360 deals" .but you NEVER comment on any negative things said on 360 posts in fact you often join in and support them but you will always comment on any negative posts on PS3 deals or just about any thing related to it.

I now have MGS4
I don't need to say more your Final Fantasy posts speak for themselves...... ( I think you have made at least 3 posts on different deals on exactly the same thing 1 of them being on a deal for an Xbox 360 Elite FF bundle)
