I think you maybe right !

I'm waiting on this one this year. Bought the last two out of stupid loyalty, even though I knew Fifa had taken over.

Pro Evo on the PS2 was amazing, and now... well.... it is not.
#7
do they take money now or when its despatched, cheers
#8
take money upon ordering to let people know
#9

Hope this isnt a dissapointment this year!

pro 10 was out and out a better game than fifa 10 - not a fanboy as i play/buy both

the only thing that let it down was the online play which was shockingly laggy (sometimes 2 seconds).

will be giving konami 1 more chance to get online right or will be fifa 4 life

hot

Take a look at Pro 2011 demo gameplay on YouTube, awful

You can download the PES11 demo at the Playstation store. Only Plus members though!

Looks good to me, but it's not until you play it you'll know how good it is. It's about gameplay, not watching some pretty pictures.

my brother is playing this now, might give him a ring and see how it is going.

i havent bothered with pes for ages but i believe pes 2011 has only one online trophy so i may get it this year as i hate online gaming.

All Platforms:
PES 2011: 8th October
FIFA 11: 1st October (except Wii, which will be released 3rd October)

Demos for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC will be released on 15th September for both games.

If you're on PlayStation + you can download the demo now, as it was released 8th September.

I'll be trying both the FIFA and PES demos, but if PES doesn't have any significant improvements, I'll be sticking with FIFA, since it has been miles better over the past 2 years.

I played the Ps3 demo for about 45 minutes and really hated it. It's not a patch on last years FIFA.
#18
last years pes was just about the worst football game i'd played... everything was so robotic
#19
tried the PES 11 DEMO

Worst Game thn before - Graphics are like 5 years Old -
#20
Will wait to see the reviews this time!
#21
You can never tell from the early demo, often is significantly different to the finished product.

Good games with bad demos... I'm sure a handful must exist but I can't think of one.
PES has a lot to do this year, I hope the crowd chants are better.

Graphics is a funny one to complain about - That is the one area I thought Konami have got right in the last 2 outings (Just a shame about the gamyplay being a bit hit & miss).

I have high hope of this years - but I say that every year.

I think FIFA is aimed at the more casual gamers / footie fans. Whilst Pro is for those serious about football.

The new version of PES is like a whole new game. I was lucky enough to play the Master League Online Beta last month and have to say even at 60% build it was the best PES since PES 6/WE10 in 2005. Be warned it takes a while to get used to but investing the time reaps rewards, you can score a myriad of different goals. The demo is a finished build so when you play it apparently that is what the boxed version will be like. Good deal and heat from me.

this is made by people who call football soccer..

I used to be a devout PES fan from 03 through to 07. Then FIFA 08 came and it has been trouncing PES ever since. I feel sorry for PES. I pity it.

FIFA IS A MUCH BETTER, WELL-ROUNDED, FOOTBALL GAME

PES now sucks

PES has gone completely down the drain. After holding a cult following in the mid 2000s, they have step by step made the game worse and worse and worse. It is almost like they are doing it deliberately it is so bad. Fifa is such a better game now

Exactly.. I think that comment was about 4 or 5 years late

The demo is already out for PS3 if you have a Playstation Plus membership.

I cant get my head around how Fifa and PES release the same game each year and people buy it as if its a completely new game? Surely they should just release a patch each year with the minor updates that they seem to incorporate in each version and charge maybe £6.99 for it or something?
#35
I have downloaded the demo pn Playstation Plus and I would encourage others thinking about returning to PES to do the same. BUT you really do need a good couple of hours to re-learn the game if you think you can just press X and ping pong the ball around forget it, everything has changed. How people can criticise the graphics must be having a laugh!!! If you loved PES5/6 on PS2 this is the next-gen game you've been waiting for. The old feeling is back. Download the demo on PSN/XBOX on the 19th September, spend an hour with it and tell me it doesnt bring a smile to your face. BTW videos on youtube are usually compressed and speeded up, play it for yourself and see.

I find it funny how people can say the gameplay an such in PES is terrible yet playing Fifa is so rigid and narrow, its like your playing with 11 bricks, PES certainly isn't amazing or anything but still better than Fifa.

Back in the PS2 days I would have agreed completely with you, however I think things have changed a lot now, I can remember when there was no way I'd ever willingly play FIFA over Pro Evo, how things have changed.

Saying that, I'm not sure if I will bother with the new FIFA this year either, I tend to buy it every other year.

Really, is that why you can rap in 35-yarders with ease after 5 minutes playing, there's about 3 trick moves and it hasn't even got the real team or player names in most cases? I'd wager most serious football fans would insist that their team weren't called something stupid and had their proper kit for a start...

Used to love Pro Evo, it reached its peak in Pro Evo 5 and has gone downhill every year since.

Use one of the superb option files out there fof kits, names emblems etc. If tricks 'n kits are your thing stick with FIFA. Shooting takes time to get used to this year so you must be some player, I take it you have downloaded on PSN+?? Demo 15th Sept

Most people would completely disagree, including me.
