#4

Which is 50% more money, and a week or two wait for delivey. :?

How can you vote this cold when you cannot officially get the dualshock in this country so for the average joe this deal is great! This is what p*sses me off about this site! You try and help people out and this is how they thank you!
#7
good deal voted hot,

but i have to ask as well, when did M&S start selling PS3 asscessories ?
#8
Wow check out those prices on the rest of the PS3 stuff, full retail anyone!

I wonder how many copies of Marvel Ultimate Alliance they have left @ £49.50 a pop!

But I guess you are paying for the quality?

LOL

Not sure when they started selling PS3 stuff but the Handforth store is very large so i'm guessing only these flagship stores will have them, worth a look anyway. If anyone wants one I am going again tommorrow....ade

Yes but with rumble built in, I got one for about £25 and it makes games so much better.
#11
It's also worth noting that the Sixaxis makes a good PC controller.
#12
Voted Cold. Pay an extra tenner and get a dual shock 3 which is 'future proof'. When the dual shock comes out in April or whenever to the uk these original six axis will be about a tenner!

Could you provide a source for this information:

a. Dualshock 3 being futureproof.
b. April release for Dualshock 3.
c. Sixaxis will be about a tenner.

There is NO point buying a Sixaxis now. You can import a DualShock 3 for around a tenner extra, and when the DS3 comes out here in around a month or two, the Sixaxis will be worth nothing.

99% of games have already been patched for rumble, so the DS3 is a must-have accessory.
#15
:?mispriced? so it's not an offer they are doing?
#16
Nice find n3tto, voted hot and +ve repped dude
#17
i have to admit that the dual shock will be the way to go. Sure enough, economic sense tells me that when they're released here the standard sixaxxis will lower in price.

Although this is a pretty good price for a sixaxxis right now, it might be worth waiting a little...

I would akin this to the current HD-DVD situation. There are currently some fantastic "deals" that will allow you to get a player and several films for peanuts....but is it a savvy move considering that what you're buying has already been superceded? I wouldn't recommend to my friends to spend money on HD-DVD equipment - no matter how good the deal is.

At least you'll be able to continue to use your sixaxxis if you choose to get one - making it slightly different. You won't be wasting your money. If you can hold out for a little longer, you might find that the price will go down more (but then, isn't that true of everything?)

this is not just a ps3 six axis controller
this is a M&S ps3 six axis controller

There is still no official European release date for the Dual Shock 3, April is for the US only and has no bearing on when we'll get them officially.

No-where near that percentage of games have been patched for rumble, plus not even all new PS3 games have rumble from the outset, certainly not 99% anyway.

How much does a Dualshock 2 cost?
They have been superceeded twice and are based on technology that is about 8? years old?

You 'sir' are talking out of your back passage.
#22
Xbox 360 had the "must have" rumble from launch years ago!
#23
It's a bit cheeky that Sony released the PS3 without a rumble controller bundled with it IMO. They made all the fuss about making sure it had a Blu-ray drive then leave out one of the most important things to enhance it.

I suppose they had another agenda with Blu-ray though.

To be fair the DS3 has rumble and SixAxis so it's not that dated.

*Sigh* why bring the Xbox into a PlayStation topic? the DS3 would have been there from launch but for the Immersion lawsuit. Yes Sony were silly when it came to dealing with Immersion but it's sorted now.

I still don't see why you had to bring up the Xbox. Please don't turn this into another generic HDUK console war topic .

They couldn't for legal reasons.

I am talking about the Dualshock 2.
If the release of a new model plunged the price down so much, the Dualshock 2 should be available for £3.
#26
thesaint;1671343
They didn't release it because they couldn't legally release it.

Oh well, it's still annoying and shouldn't have happened. They should offer a free upgrade or some sort of trade-in.

Fair dos, it's before 10:00 so I accept no responsibility for the slowness of my grey matter at this time :p

Why should they? Do any other electrical companies compensate their customers for early adoption when a newer version comes out?

I have to say the comments on this thread show the qualities of the types of comments that annoy me too. But I'm on the other side of the fence.

Some people think this is a great price for a sixaxis controller and have said as such and voted hot.

Some people think there's no point in getting a sixaxis because the DS3 is available on import, are just around the corner for a uk, and will pretty much make buying sixaxis obselete. These people have voted the deal cold.

Now surely this is the point of the voting system and, to a certain extent, the comments section too? I'm in the latter category, I can't see the point in buying a sixaxis now so have voted cold. Some people would then say "But for people who don't want rumble then this is a great deal". Fine, you disagree with me, vote hot then. But I still retain the right to my opinion and I can still vote cold. Moaning about it gets you nowhere. OP, if you get so riled by people voting your post cold then don't post. Every user has the right to vote cold if they wish, for any reason they wish. If your deal is genuinely hot then the hot votes generally counterbalance the cold votes. The deal is currently at 96 degrees, is a few cold votes really such a problem?

I agree, but I would say that most of the cold votes are based on unsubstantiated rumours and pure conjecture.

I have a Dualshock3, and wouldn't ever buy a regular sixaxis, but think I would vote this deal on it's own merits.

If there was a release date and a price for the DS3, then I would vote Cold.

Surely we are voting hot/cold based on the particular deal and not similar product? This particular deal is hot because the price is lower than that currently found anywhere else, you can't vote cold because you might be able to get a different product in a month. Just my 2p
#33
Hahahahahahaha how can Sony steal the motor (the vibration) off of a dildo!!! that's why DS3 has taken so long... because Sony are a bunch of thieves... alie?

I agree with you.

The point I am trying to make is this:

If the DS3 had a release date of 10th March 2008, and it had an RRP of £23, then I would vote this deal cold.

Most people are voting this deal cold based on what they overheard down the pub.
#35
Back to the deal - can anyone confirm this is nationwide, or just an in-store misprice - we seem to have got to 112 degrees without knowing if this offer is only available in Handforth :? Their web price is still £32..............:whistling:
#36
To be fair - They are cheap enough that you can buy all three major ones and the handhelds... I'm not so certain the DS3 will see light of day over here for quite a while yet...

This is exactly my point really. I can vote cold, for whatever reason I choose. Nobody has the right to tell the other users by what criteria they should judge posts by. There are no guidelines on this site as far as I'm aware stipulating what criteria you should judge a post by.

Your criteria is that this is a hot deal because it's cheaper than the same product bought elsewhere.

My criteria is that £20 is a lot to pay for a product that has limited functionality and will be obselete in a few months. I personally feel that going to the trouble and expense of importing a DS3 or waiting for the UK version is a much better alternative to buying a sixaxis. Buying a DS3 > £20 for a sixaxis=cold deal for me.

I don't want to get into a debate with anyone over the merits of buying a DS3 versus buying a sixaxis. I've stated my position, I think the sixaxis controller is a cheap piece of junk and I wouldn't pay a fiver for one. Some people think they're worthwhile. We disagree. Fine. The point of this post is nobody should tell other users how to vote. You can state your position and justify it, even get into an argument. But it should be a reasoned argument, not 'I am right, you are wrong, you shouldn't have voted cold'.
#38
Still pretty expensive for a controller that will be obsolete within the year :(

EDIT: Or, what he ^ said :)

EDIT AGAIN: Except the fiver part. £5 isn't a bad price if they won't be used much..
#39
They`re still selling for more on Flea-Bay,so voted HOT!
