Not sure if this offer is in all Asda stores, but bought my PS3 slim 250gb today for £230 (labelled £240 in the games section but scanned as £230) which is quite a drop from regular £282 in Asda.

This was the Asda next to Trafford Centre - Manchester

So it might be worth checking your local Asda if you are thinking of buying one! :-)

- Checked another Asda (Hulme - Manchester) and it did not have this offer but had £217 for PS3 Slim 120gb when you buy a top 25 chart game.

I actually saw the 120gb in ASDA (Peckham) today. They have dvd cases that you take to the counter, but the guy told me they are sold out and have been for weeks. Seems like i'm going to have trouble getting the 120. They didn't have the 250gb.

seems good to me

yeah, I went around the Trafford Centre today with the aim of buying one but the 120gb was sold out everywhere (was going to buy one of those for £250) but then stumbled across the 250gb in Asda when we went to buy some cheesecake

Apparently stores aren't getting the 120gb as they're being shipped out to them in time for the release of FFXIII or something (not sure if that's true!) - anyway yes, Asda go go buy buy

They were £199 at Sainsbury's, grab a picture of the offer (somewhere here in the HUKD archives), go to Currys and they will match the price and take off 10% of the difference making it £195, worked for me. :)

Once these go below £200 in price they might be worth considering.
Until then, over priced as always.

its called supply and demand, and as everyone on here is saying demand is outstripping supply, they your arguement that they are overpriced is a bit laughable really!

blu-ray players are around £100.
so you left with a gaming console with more capable hardware than any other console on the market for less than £150 with the best lineup of exclusive of this gen.

waaaaaaaay under-priced i would say.......btw you do know their still making small losses on these?
infact i cant think of another product as underpriced as a ps3......if you can, let me know.

Spot on there mate.

I don't get how anyone can say the PS3 is overpriced when you actually look at what you're getting with the investment.

Good deal. I recommend paying a little more and getting the 250GB.

Its only an internal blu-ray drive, like the ones you can put in yer PC for £50 so not exactly the same as a proper blu-ray player.

I've also heard Sony are now charging customers to replace the PS3. £130 i think.

I have been an avid Xbox fan (not a fanboy) for years and years, ever since the first Xbox came out. I loved the console and everything that went with it. Got the 360 now and in my opinion is fantastic for games and online play...

however

Got a PS3 250 GB for christmas as I wanted a Blu ray player and also wanted to record live TV via Play TV...and all I can say is WOW!!

I still love my Xbox, which I personally believe have nailed online play...but the PS3 is so much more than a Xbox could be. As a multi media experiance, it is one of the best purchases I've ever made...well worth the money. Blu Ray, record live TV, plays DivX and also looks great when playing photo's that I have taken and saved onto its HDD

Have some heat!!

What do you mean?! It does everthing that a standalone Blu Ray player does, and in most cases better...it seems a wierd statement to make, seeing as its not true...:o

Not being a PS3 owner; I am very tempted.

However, this doesn't appear to come with any games - so once you've bought a game and an HDMI cable; other bundles appear more attractive. Cracking deal if this is replacing a PS3....!

Someone has just posted £240 with Uncharted.

has this really finished tody? can't believe its the first i have heard about it...gutted

Cheers OP. Just picked up the following @ Derby Walmart. Offer ended today at 4pm.

1 x 250gb PS3 Slim with Unchartered 2 for £240
1 x 250gb PS3 slim with Eyepet for £230.

Thats both kids sorted for their birthdays over the next couple of weeks. Blinding deals for what is a great bit of kit. We've got an old Phat PS3 in the lounge and it's the best bit of kit I've purchased in years. Now I can hook the kids up to the NAS in some style. Well chuffed.

H&R.
Cheers =]

dont you gies know that HD is almost the same thing as blu-ray and why the hell would you pay £250 for a ps3 when you can buy a HD player for the Xbox 360 for around a fiver.

theres kind of a big difference between a blu-ray player which you stick in your PC and a standalone blu-ray player which people want connected to their living rooms tv's.

wow, what an argument:roll:

so a new release blueray that will cost £15, will only cost £3 as a dvd?

brilliant

FWIW, I never buy films, but using love films cost the same, and I would rather rent a blueray to play on my PS3 than a DVD

Reserved mine at Asda Eastlands today. Went in yesterday and had none in stock. Had The DVD cases on the shelf with Unchartered 2 game for £282 but shelf edge had two prices. One had £282 and the other said £240 reduced from £282. All for the £250gb version so will have to see what I get it for when I'm there. Hopefully it will be £240 with the game. If not then the amazon £265 deal is better
