PS3 Slim £109 - when you trade in your old 60GB PS3

This beats - GAME £125 and Gamestation £119 trade-ins.

When I reserved mine, the guy at the branch was pretty honest, and said he wasn't that confident of them having any supply on release date 1st September, but, I'm not in that great a hurry, so I'm wiling to wait a week or two. Fully refundable £20 deposit

Ask Gamestation to match the price/trade and whatever bundle Blockies have. My local Blockies is useless, most new releases on Blu Ray to buy never leave the back counter shelving!

Any idea how much if you trade the 40GB ?

Yeah - would be interested to know this too.

So you can buy a new slim @ £229 - which means that they are giving you £130 for a 80GB PS3 (or £120 for a 60GB PS3!). I am sure you will get more on these forums for your PS3 (and do a favour to another HUKD member!)

That said - since they are giving less for the 60GB console, I wonder if that means that backward compatibility is coming via a firmware update?

Well it will be a maximum of £110 - probably less. Why not sell it on the forum for £120 (to include your postage costs) - I am sure you will get at least that on here.

Nah its because they have no clue about the console. 60gb oh lower harddrive, bad marketing.

You could get £144 cash from cex for a 80gb ps3, Not to mention forums here or ebay so this seems quite poor to me.

Price match CEX at Gamestation, they'll give you £199 for your 60gb console. Leaving you with only £51 left to pay for the slim

Well Adam on their defence they might be considering the fact that the 60gb version is the one that uses a lot more power, etc, and bla blah blah, but I doubt it.

But I think you are quite correct and they just see it as size of the hdd.

I own a an 80gig PS3 and there is no way I would swop for a slim , its a great piece of kit but I plan to stick in a 320gig hard-drive for only 39.99 at Amazon . There is nothing different except the aesthetics and I actually prefer the look of mine .

Surely it's even better than that as a new ps3 slim is only £229, Just an extra £30 :)

Yeap, and well add £30 more for the PS2 in case you are worry about backwards compatibility :p, but chances are you probably got one

I can see the appeal if you take your PS3 to multiple locations like a freinds house on a regular basis or something but apart from that i dont see the point in swapping your standard (Much better looking) PS3 for the slim version especially at the prices being offered for your console in this deal. Bit of a joke those trade in prices if you ask me.
