This is why I think sony have made a large mistake - their handheld will work out more expensive than their home console - personally Id much prefer to have a 'proper' console, even if gt psp does look awesome....
#6
Also don't shopto deliver it earlier than the release date?
#7
Nice price!

not always but they GUARANTEE on release date or compensation
#9
oh look a price thats not just RRP of a new product, and actually deal worthy, HOT!
#10
it looks as though sony have given the trade some proper prices so hopefully all of them will follow in price cuts. I will expect £229 to be quite the norm - eventually
#11
It was currently £244.95 but now has come down to £229.99. Special Pre-Order Price.

It was previously? :P

I was never good at english :-( thanks for the grammatical error lol.

If no-one orders, they might cut the price further! Anyway, voted hot for a good price.

Good price, but I wouldn't trust shopto.

Too many people have had credit card issues with them.

Cold.

Was thinking about ordering a PS3 fat for £180 earlier, but htis is tempting :)

There is PayPal and it is the cheapest deal for the new PS3 Slim. I thought voting was on the Price of the product?

Sorry, but I think you have to factor in hassle as well.

I prefer credit card protection - I needed it last time with shopto.

Very true. Btw, if you buy and register your PSPgo between Oct 1-10, you get a free digital copy of Gran Turismo PSP.
#19
apparently for PS3 pre-orders ONLY - shopto are ONLY TAKING CREDIT CARD

Annoying thing is these are released on a Tuesday. If the suppliers get them in early many won't dispatch on a weekend, as it's not classed as a working day. Only way at all is if it's dispatched on the Friday which seems a little too early for them to post out, but you never know!
#20
this is going to kill the price of used old ps3s. prob not the 60gb but def the 40gb and 80gb.

so is everyone who ordered with amazon gong to cancel and order this instead?

Sorry, I just don't trust this company and considering they don't keep credit cards on file anymore, they don't seem to trust themselves.

Nothing trolling about it.
#23
I don't understand as the PS3 Slim is £229.99 for pre-order on ShopTo yet the PSP Go is £230.00 so your getting a much better console which can be linked to an existing PSP for 1p less lol. Sony need to work there pricing out big time.

Just to reiterate what i put in the other Shopto thread.....

SHOPTO DO NOT ALLOW YOU TO PAY BY PAYPAL FOR PRE-ORDER OR ANY ORDER OVER £50 SO BASICALLY ITS CREDIT CARD ONLY.

Sorry it stinks of desperation, i wouldnt give this company a penny! - they advertise 2 days ago that its £245 THEN all of a sudden its £229 and CREDIT CARDS ONLY.....sorry, but this company could go bust with all your money next week, i wouldnt give them a penny - if they had any confidence about themselves and wanted to provide security they would accept Paypal but they wont (i spoke to a shopto representative this morning who said they wont accept paypal, even on release date!!!!)

Take your chances, but i would rather go into a shop with £250 and come out with the product than try and save £30 but have sleepless nights till 1st September worrying if its gonna turn up and if Shopto have gone in administration with my money!!
#28
I get the feeling that this forum is soon going to be a "PS3 for 1p less than the last deal posted which was 1p less than the post before that which......." you get the picture

I bet this thing will inevitably be LOADS cheaper than this at Christmas, the PS3 is dying compared to other formats (not my words before the fan boys start quoting one good months sales figures!!) and Sony know it, they need to increase their user base even more quickly now that Blue-Ray writable discs are becoming more reliable and cheaper.....
#29
I don't think shopto will go in admin they have a huge customer base, great service and I've never had bother with them. Plus I have recieved games 1 or 2 days before release and I bet many others would be using shopto for this.
#30
For some reason they didnt accept my card...oh well guess il go to HMV with £250 and get a free game.

lol such fanboy. As an owner of all the next gen consoles and handhelds (yes that means including wii and psp) - i can say that PS3 is a brilliant console and its really only online that lets it down but its free so who can complain.

PS3 is just getting cheaper now so they can concentrate on advertising. Microsoft have unlimited money so they can advertise all the time. Nintendo are making money from the let go and their adverts are always on TV and they do have an impact.

They took a risky decision but hindsight is great - i'm sure sony wouldn't have bothered if they knew this generation would be in the middle of a recession.

Mine wasn't a "fanboy" comment thanks (unlike yours m8!!) its fact, I actually like the PS3 but Im still waiting for that "Killer" exclusive to warrant buying one. I chose 360 because all of my mates have them, NO other reason... K?? :-D

If shopto go bust with your credit card orders, you've nothing to worry about. Your card issuer will reverse the charge instantly. It's not like it's something under £100, so nowt to be worried about.

If your details mysteriously go missing and get used somewhere else, well - that's a different issue entirely, but if people are having such huge issues with fraud and getting chargebacks, I'd be inclined to change issuer.

Explain in more detail please, because I get the feeling you are either misinformed, or completely off-target.

If you think Sony wouldn't have developed a PS3 slim because of a recession, I think you need to go back and have a wee think about what you're suggesting
