Ditto. I watch Bluray films via my PS3 but I'm quite happy to use the controller until the remote is dirt cheap...but I'm tight that way.

Yeah I'm the same. I'd rather have the remote but I can live without it, rather spend the £15 on something else.

Thats said, it seems a good price compared to other places.

Wasn't sure it was that good of a deal till I saw this, but picked mine up for £5 yesterday at WH Smith

Bought mine for about £18 nearly 2 years ago, love having it there to use... at least you can't accidentally skip some of the movie with this, lol
I know it's still not cheap at this price, but if you would use it a lot then it's definitely worth it - just a shame that they didn't make them rechargeable too. But saying that, I have had some duracell's in mine for at least a year and they're still going strong.
BTW, I use this app called PS3 media server so that I can stream the content from my PC to the PS3, it even transcodes mkv files so that you don't have to recode or anything... just thought I'd let you know in case you have a use for that :)

£5 from smiths yesterday as well. anyone who pays £15 for a remote and thinks its a good deal is crazy.

lol @ OP saying at £15 it's a steal... its a 'steal' of your money tbh.

Considering LBP is £8 - i think that a remote for £15 is very overpriced

Sweet. I will take at look at some point. I do use my PS3 to play DivX movies but in the past I have simply copied them across or played from my external drive.

Good price for the controller, considering it's Bluetooth as well. I bought mine for £17 but was quite happy to do so, since it was worth it purely to avoid frustration of accidentally hitting a button on the controller!

Hot!

If you can find a WHSmith by you they are selling for £5

No worries, it's a great app, you don't even need any codecs installed on your PC pr anything, it's all handled by the app... I use the windows version at the moment with no probs with any files I've played. When playing an mkv it can take a minute or 2 to get going because it's buffering the content and after that it plays perfectly.
The linux version I found had a problem playing AVI files, so I had to workaround it by installing the windows version in wine.
Anyway, basically the windows version is bug free as far as I've found and have been using it to play all my stuff for several months or more now.. hope you like it ;)

Agreed and voted cold for that reason. Even though I paid £30 for it when the PS3 was brand new.

*Hangs head in shame*

I went to my local Whsmiths today and they dont even have the remote for sale there.

So with some people who said its not £5 in their local .... and people like me who have found out their local smiths dont stock it at all .... this deal seems to be reasonable.
