A must have game.

obviously that should say pre-owned at the start.. but the website states

All pre-order games that we sell online go through a rigorous checking system and then, whether they need it or not, are fully cleaned in our state of the art machines. This brings all of our pre-owned games up to full retail standard.

Yeh, its a good game. I have decided to just go for it, based on £10. I rented the game months ago as part of a lovefilm subscription and never completed it so can pick up where I left off with my save game. :)

Note, that Gamestation has a Quidco link also although I am not sure if this qualifies?

GameStation is passionate about gaming and the ultimate destination for real gamers.

Theres a great range of NEW and PRE-OWNED games, consoles and accessories and in all major formats including PlayStation 2, XBox, GameCube, PC, GameBoy, PSP, DS. With a fantastic selection of retro - we have a range to satisfy even the hungriest of gamers.

For genuine tracked transactions completed wholly online, you can earn:

5% for accessories - New
6% for accessories - Pre-owned
2% for hardware purchases

Doesn't seem to list games... soooo.. maybe not but its still a great price, thanks OP. :)

Nowt, apart from the box design - some people have a 'thing' about budget release games

your'e serious? so people pay more for a box that says "platinum" even if the disk inside is identical?

And just how do you refurbish a PS3 game? Polish the disk and Iron the manual?

They just machine polish the disks as far as the quote from N20Y1D states, see above.
I personally am not worried as long as it works and is not covered in dried icecream or something. :)

I think its the actual design rather than them being budget, they look horrible with that yellow.

more talk about the box than the game - this is an excellent game, played through it 3 times, cant wait for Uncharted II

Its a fantastic game, deserving of a real solid platinum case

Actually it's the exact opposite to this. Some people just don't like the "platinum" covers and would rather pay more for a game in the original cover. I know this because I recently sold a new sealed copy of Assasins Creed for £25, when the platinum version can be picked up for £9.99.

I must confess that I am one of the people that doesn't like Platinum covers, not sure why just prefer the originals. That makes this a good deal.

Cheers OP

yes, the box/cover defo affects the resale value, and from a personal & I can imagine most collectors' POV, really don't like the yellow colours/design of the PS3 Plat' range (I think Sony deliberately designed it ugly to put people off from buying the cheaper price games), the PS2 Plat range was much more acceptable, but iirc the top surface of Plat' PS2 discs also devoided of any design, just mainly silver with name of the game & some writtings, very "budget looking", whereas orignal discs usual have colourful design/pictures of the characters on the top surface, don't know if PS3 Plat' range is the same.

so far got about 60 PS3 games not a sigle one from the Plat' range, bought the normal case Uncharted last year from PCWorld sale for £9.97 still sealed in wrapper just haven't had time to play it, read a lot of great reviews so now need to give it a bash.

I would soo love to know how true this is. I know GAME don't test their pre-owned stuff at all, so it's good to know at least GS claim to.

I know they have a hell of a lot of Venmill 3500 buffering machines (these things are like £2000 each :O ) though I don't think you could claim they make games look identicle to new ones. Close, but, there's still blemishes where scratches once were.

And as for rigorous testing, I know how it *should* be done. Stick it in a PC and run the thing through a read-error test (eg. Nero CD-DVD Speed's scan disc tool's read-error check). Even better, stick it in an original console's drive, force to to do a full read test, and have something that reports back any failures (preferably with file names, failed buffer.dat ain't so bad ;) ).

I'm guessing with a blu-ray drive, and so long as Sony are still using regular file systems on their discs like PS1 and PS2 games, that shouldn't be too hard, though it's sure gonna take a while for every disc, and to be truely thorough they wanna be doing it on original console drives, usually meaning original consoles, usually meaning a bit of fun with modding the stuff. As for Xbox / 360, I hope they have some decent modders around, and went for the Hitachi drive with modded ATAPI drivers instead of the ole modded console + FTP route. As for Nintendo / UMD / cartridges / etc, who the hell are they kidding?

I find it highly unlikely they bother with that, even though I so hope they are. But if not, I'd be quite happy to pop down there and show them how it's meant to be done. Like I did in GAME. And got banned for suspected piracy. You just can't help some people, eh?

dunno why sony and m$ use a different design. It's madness , extra design/printing costs for less money.

No one really needs to wait for classic/platinum games anymore as normal prices are dropping to £9.99 fast enough now.

should be just done with it and charge £9.99 from day 1 well £14.99 to round it up as poor companies and supporters will be banging on about development costs. gfx artists pay, coders, printers, advertising, etc

great game, heat added, I'm currently on the "restricted-access" demo for Uncharted 2 multiplayer and it looks great

No people prefer the original, the platinum discs loose the artwork, to be honest I would pay for an original, but would no buy a platinum unless I wanted to play the game and there was no source of originals left, once I could find one, then I would buy it and sell the platinum.

Shops and certain "helplines" which you only ring because your consoles under warranty so you expect them to fix the crappy thing, really don't like it when you know more than they do believe me.

Still the best game on PS3

Heat added!

just bought one, thanks for hte post :)

A good game. This is the only game (so far) that I have managed to get a Platinum trophy on! Not difficult to achieve but just needs a bit of time.
#27
I tested Uncharted Drakes Fortune 2 for Sony a couple of weeks ago. Awesome game, although some mechanics were a bit lame.

I haven't played the first one but the second one was really like a mix between national treasure/assassins creed.

Thanks again to the OP, got mine today and its an original copy, the disk is perfect not a single mark on it. The box is a little scuffed but not too bad.

Quidco also tracked, for an extra 40p discount lol.

So all in all very happy. :) Might even risk Assassin's Creed pre-owned from there now.
