sorry if its been posted, i had a look but cudnt see one, and also its my 1st deal post

SixAxis /= DualShock btw.

This is for the new pad not yet released here and £36 is about the price you'd be paying at most places.

I have one, got it last year and its a really sturdy pad unlike the flimsy sixaxis. A must buy and not much more expensive than if you waited til march and bought it here!

ppd_2001 NONE of those are what is listed at CD-Wow

That's not the same controller.

You need to compare like-for-like when voting on deals.

For all those linking to amazon, shopto, play etc this is NOT THE SAME CONTROLLER!

Its a dualshock 3, which hasn't been released in the UK yet. Its like the normal sixaxis but more weighty and has built in rumble. Excellent price though, well found. Cost about £45 on ebay/import sites.
#6
this is the dualshock one that vibrates not the same one that use have found
#7
As stated this is the Dual Shock pad!
This does not deserve a cold vote at all, voted Hot

It's alright, someone has removed his posts to preserve his dignity.

I removed them myself, so not to confuse other people

Do any of the current games support rumble? probably a stupid question ;-)

Yes. Motorstorm, Resistance, Assasins Creed, Ratchet, UT3, Drakes and Kane and Lynch I can confirm as supporting rumble!

Also patches are being made available on the PSN to add support to already released games, Warhawk for example.

I've quoted the list of game titles already supported previously.

When I connected online with "MotorStorm" I had to download a patch before the "DUALSHOCK 3" controller would 'rumble' as intended, but with "Tekken 5: Dark Ressurrection (Online)" & "Resistance: Fall Of Man" the 'rumble' feature was already in-place (maybe because these two have been updated more recently with Map Pack Add-Ons for "Resistance..." & the "Online" feature for "Tekken 5").

I went for the Black'n'White 'Stormtrooper' model of the "DUALSHOCK 3" to distinguish it from the current SIXAXIS controllers I have but, in any respect, you can switch the 'rumble' feature off via the PS3 in-game controller settings if it does not suit.

Oh, if you put the "DUALSHOCK 3" down when watching online bouts in "Tekken 5...." with the 'rumble' feature enabled, the controller is never where you leave it when it is your turn as the vibration causes the controller to move great distances! :)

yep but you'll run the risk of import fees??
#24
mine's been on order for a week or two now, the stock keeps getting "delayed" good price, but it was meant to be posted out friday, and was put back till monday, and then put back till today, so i dont hold out too much hope of getting it quickly

I got mine from YesAsia for £31, delivered, and I didn't even realise they had quidco, so could have been cheaper.

Black DS3: http://global.yesasia.com/en/prdTransfer.aspx/pid-1005069402/
White DS3: http://global.yesasia.com/en/prdTransfer.aspx/pid-1005069416/

I did find a $5 voucher on the net though, but if anyone buys one, you'll get another two $5 vouchers here http://global.yesasia.com/en/specials/coupon/index.aspx

YesAsia post to the UK, and then re-ship to you, so no customs charges either. Took a week for delivery.

No they guarantee no tax, as I understand it they ship to their UK warehouse which is then shipped to you.
Just had a Pink DS from them no problems and no import duty etc. Received 4 -5 days after placing my order.

Why didn't Sony release this sooner? So to get rumble support you have to buy a seperate controller, damn Sony.

My PS3 is a UK/PAL release date 60Gb model, and all the boxed game titles are UK/PAL editions.

("Tekken 5: Dark Ressurrection (Online)" is, of course, a download resident on my hard drive).

Sony were sued for the rumble technology they used in the Dual Shock 2 prior to the PS3's release, so they ended up releasing the console without vibration in the controllers.

It wasn't ready to be released sooner as it was still in development when the UK (European) PS3 was released.

The Japanese/Asian market had the new controller first.

I believe the current "date" for the official release in the UK is currently "Spring".

bottom line is there was a lawsuit with immersion who claim to have copyright over all vibrating controllers. until it was sorted out, sony left vibro out, claiming it wasnt needed for next gen consoles or some such. they've settled the case, so now have dualshocks again - i suspect at some point in the future ps3s will come with them as standard in the box (and the 6axis will die out).

for me, its not worth paying an extra £30 just to get vibration in games, but when i break my controllers i'll probably upgrade to these
#32
PS. I'm sure it doesn't need to be said, but if you have a 40Gb PS3 console, and you are planning to buy more than two "DUALSHOCK 3" controllers, you may find that after a heavy gaming session the "rumble" feature has drained the controller batteries to an extent that you'll have a queue of controllers waiting to be charged in the 2 on-board USB ports.

Buying a USB hub may be an idea as well! :)

Yup... that's just what I did. Just replaced the one broken SIXAXIS (out of the four) I have.

The next PS3 Christmas bundles (around September/October) will probably be available with the "DUALSHOCK 3".

To be honest, I don't use the "rumble" feature. I didn't miss it with the standard SIXAXIS, but I do try it with every PS3 game title I have, then switch it off again.

I'd advise saving your money until they have been readily available in the UK for a few months & the prices start to drop.

Seems quite expensive to me, even if it does have rumble. Considering you can get PS3 games at a lower price. I'll wait til the price drops and get a white one.
#35
i got mine delivered from www.yesasia.com for £35.50

they said it would take 4-5 weeks for delivery, but it didnt, it took like 11 days or something.

free delivery as well.

and yes i live in the UK
#36
Seems really expensive, Microsoft balls up with the flawed gpu on the 360, Sony balls up by making you have to buy the proper controller at quite an expense later.....
#38
heat added but is this compatible with current games???
#39
got one of these in japan at xmas for £18
as to charging them i just charge em on my pc
annoyingly ps3 has to be on to charge em
works great with gt5 prologue

as was said before will work with a lot of current games rfom etc

Try reading the rest of the thread which lists the games that have rumble.
