Been looking around for PS4 pro pre orders and can't seem to see anything much below the usual £350 mark.

Remembered buying my current PS4 from GameStop.IE (I got the Metal Gear Solid phantom pain release) - and it worked out cheaper than getting it here in the U.K.

Hopefully if the exchange rate gets better it could get cheaper but as it stands on today's rate of 1.18 - this is probably the cheapest i could find.

Constructive thoughts/opinions welcome - voting down because you prefer Xbox not! :)

Why cold? This appears to be cheaper than the current RRP and I haven't seen any other cheaper deals.
Hot from me.
Quick query please, how good is pre-orders from gamestop.ie? When do they take payment? Are they any good for returns if theres problems?
Thanks

My thoughts exactly - not the most constructive response I thought as I thought people would also advise how it could be purchased cheaper..isn't that the point?

Anyway - they take money on dispatch and delivered on release for me. Although on returns I'm not sure as I've never had to return to them.

Hope that answers your questions :)

agreed, the console itself may not be great but the price is. this site is not what it used to be.

People shouldn't neg a thread just because they don't like the item. The compute potential of this device is hard to beat, even by a custom built PC for the same price.

I agree - if people voted negative it would be helpful if they said where it's cheaper as I'm in the market for one so it would help me out and many others I'm sure

Spot on mate, I have said that loads of times but you then do actually get dinlows coming out with some sort of muggy justification that because they don't like the product and/or it wasn't well received by critics that's why it's cold (_;)

Erm nope, this site is about publicisng the best prices for any given product so if something is not cheaper elsewhere then surely that equates to hot.

I'm not planning on getting one of these any time soon but providing the exchange rate stays around the same sort of margin this is a decent price so heat from me.

I'm guessing this is being voted cold on the basis that even sony fans are finding this a bit salty given the level of upgrade over the standard unit vs cost...
The first thread posted for it went stone cold, and it's not often that happens on new release hardware, and this IS only a tenner cheaper, depending on what happens to the exchange rate between now and release, and given how it's been fluctuating so far, it's anyone's guess as to how much you are going to pay!!

I've ordered from Very.co.uk with the first time discount of 10% it comes in at £318.89 (incl. Delivery). Works for me.

Voted hot on this though, as not everyone is a new very customer!

I see where your coming from. In all honestly even I was a bit miffed that Sony made a "pro" version - kinda annoys everyone who's already bought the original unit.

That being said - the site should vote hot on if the product is cheaper than where it's available elsewhere. If they can't find it cheaper elsewhere then why vote cold? Agree on the exchange rate though - hopefully it goes in our favour as I really want a holiday come xmas time!

I know it's only roughly £10 saving - but a 1p cut on petrol and everyone looses their mind on this site..better to save something thank nothing :)

Seems a good deal to me, though exchange rates could change between now and when you are billed.

As for the system itself, I don't understand the negative response. Apart from being dog ugly it's hard to beat in terms of price power ratio.

Good price but it looks ugly but at least it can play 4K Blu-ray disc (sarcastic)

it is sort of funny that the sites/ people moaning about the lack of a 4K player a lot of them are the same people who said blu ray is a dead format and it was silly putting one in the S. before anyone shouts fanboy i bought an S for the player

I think they were being sarcastic about the 'good price' as well.

It's going to be hard to find a preorder with this nonsense. -148 degrees for a tenner cheaper than Amazon?

Just because its a good price doesn't make it a good deal (sarcastic)

Just had a look on the very site - the console is £389..with 10% discount it comes out to 350 ish.

They have a 20% discount going at the moment but that dosnt apply to gaming?

Sorry didn't know if I was missing something obvious!

The console by itself is £349.99 - have you selected the correct bundle? (I.e no bundle, just the console?)

Don't get why this is cold. It's a really good price.

Classic case of people abusing the 'cold' button on HUKD.

No idea mate - perhaps the mods should do something about it to make voters give a reason to provide valid feedback or something to bring this site back to its former glory :)

here are some reasons it may be cold:

- the price is in Euros, depending on your bank they may levy a non sterling charge
- if there's a problem customer service is not known for being stellar
- they have overall poor reviews

The 'cheapest' isn't always the best. Personally would prefer to pay £350 from Amazon and have peace of mind that if something goes wrong they'll have it replaced/refunded within a couple of days.

Now before you lynch me I don't think it's a 'hot' deal but I haven't voted.

As for having to provide a reason for voting that would be ridiculous. People take down votes way to personally. They're not personal. So your deal goes cold. No bother chin up and move on and thanks for posting anyway.

That's fair enough - and thank you for letting me know.

I'm only saying as people love to down vote just because it's a PlayStation. For genuine people like me, it might stop me from missing a potentially good deal..which is the point of this site I suppose not weather it's because more people prefer an Xbox over a PlayStation.

I've not had issues with GameStop but I guess others might have. Annoyed I missed the very.co.uk deal (mentioned earlier) as that would be a much better deal.

Sony really haven't done a good job communicating and marketing this product. They've not really even disclosed what kind of improvement it'll make on launch PSVR games. I'm a Sony fan, but so far I've not pre-ordered the pro (just the VR) because quite frankly I don't yet see the appeal vs cost. Can't help but feel Sony jumped the gun- should have waited until next year as to not give MS the next gaming round on a silver plate.

Not voted either way. It's the cheapest sure but I would rather spend a tenner and get better support and guaranteed release day delivery via Amazon

I'm looking to upgrade my PS4 to the Pro and looking for the best pre-order deal. The Very one looks to be best value if it's still on.

Does anyone know though if they take payment immediately for pre-orders or on release?

Really don't want to have my funds tied up with nothing to show for it for the best part of two months if possible....

i found that the tesco deal to date was the best one but they take payment immediately -
