Bought it yesterday, arrived today. The box is not 'retail friendly' as in no fancy prints. Device itself most likely absolutely new, not a single mark or smudge. Hot.

No, that's for the prime now app. Unless I'm mistaken. Warehouse isn't available via prime now as that is dependant on local stock.

When did that happen? I've never seen the Slim model this cheap. I'm still annoyed that I didn't buy the Bundle from Argos with Horizon and the extra Controller. Kept thinking something better will crop up in the Easter sales but it never did
#19
The ps4 was not £150 new.

I got one of these, in a warehouse deal before Christmas for the same price. Perfect condition, all accessories, still going strong. Only thing was a tiny ding in the outer box. So I'd say go for it.
#20
As above, I bought call of duty bundle for £150 in like new condition from Amazon Warehouse just prior to Christmas, everything brand new sealed unused only the outer COD sleeve was torn. The COD game was actually missing and Amazon refunded £50 so it cos just £100 for the new console in all.

Was is the Slim model you got for that price? A similar thing happened to me when I purchased an Xbox One. It was missing FIFA so I got 20% refunded. Amazon are brilliant

tempted with this but my main interests will be red dead 2, star wars battlefront 2 and last of us 2. get the feeling the pro would be the better choice by the time these come around

Admittedly, it might have been a non-slim version that was at £150, in my ignorant eyes the PS4 is the PS4 :D

EDIT: I knew I wasn't crazy, there was a whole midnight store thing going on (definitely non-slim model)

Please elaborate.

In the field I work in we take a European guidance and the UK would then adapt that and improve on it where needed after a period of review. Similar everywhere else in Europe.
It is likely every member state's interpretation of EU directives routinely trumps them.

Basically, the EU directive would have reduced the rights we already had in that the seller is responsible for 6 years. Therefore we didn't adopt it.

Ah right, so trumped as in we exercise the right to have shorter warranties. I guess that encourages people to buy more. Sounds very interesting.

Errrm... no... The UK law actually overrides the EU law in this regard as it offers more than the EU directives, furthermore the Sale of goods act is a much older law then any EU law so there is no 'interpretation' going on here.

Sellers are responsible for items they sell for up to 6 years, EU is only 2 years. How is that less?

Imagine buying a TV and it failing after 2 years? How long should a TV last? I would say much more than 2 years, so with EU law you are out of luck?

with UK law, you can take action against the seller for up to 6 years. If an item fails in an unreasonable time ( depends on the item ) and that which is beyond normal wear and tear you can ask/demand that the seller replace or repair your goods.

Most retailers already acknowledge this, which is why they offer 5 and 6 years warranties with TV's ie Currys, John Lewis, Richer Sounds etc

If they refuse, you can then for example get the unit replaced or repaired at your own cost, keep the receipts and then file a money claim against them. (the seller, not the manufacturer)

These can often be got new for £170. I'd happily pay the extra £15 for not having to use someone else's crusty controller.

Definately! and by that time I'd imagine the price of the pro will have come down to compete with the Scorpio

Really? I've been on the look out for one for a while now because my PS4 is on it's last legs. The best deal I've seen is the Argos bundle that I mentioned earlier in this thread but I've never seen a Slim at £170. The again I do often tend to miss some incredible deals

I was part of that! I was there! Major retailer websites were crashing left, right and centre! Shopto came through for me in the end - bought an OG PS4 with Fifa 17 (yes brand new) for £150! What a night - those were the days! :{

Ah right, so I misread the reply earlier. So basically exactly as I had experienced in another realm, as in my previous response. Goes to show how adaptable these things can be, they are always painted as hard and fast dictates.
Thank you.

I don't own either and I'm not a fan boy of either.

To be fair though, most the sales figures are boosted by the Japanese markets and the fact Microsoft have always struggled to break this area.

On topic, there is no better console, depends on the games you want. For me,the PlayStation is let down by its stupid controller layout which is why i went Xbox for my cross platform games.

You don't understand what "like new" is. More often than not these are in the box returns; a customer has decided "ah, actually I don't want this", they never open it and send it back.

When amazon says "like new" it's normally perfect.

Nearly 25% off for a PS4 that's been sent in the post to someones house, then sent back to Amazon, is a pretty good deal for me.
