Looks to be the cheapest price around. Currently £34.85 at The Game Collection and £34.95 at Shopto with a poster.

PC gamers, fear not. It will be in a Humble before February.

This is the Day 1 Edition which includes the following bonus DLC;

Three Weapon/Item Packs

Extra In-Game Mission

Digital OST Sampler, Digital Comic Book, Digital Novella & Digital Artbook

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided directly follows the aftermath of the Aug Incident, a day when mechanically augmented citizens all over the world were stripped of control over their minds and bodies, resulting in the deaths of millions of innocents. The year is now 2029, and the golden era of augmentations is over. Mechanically augmented humans have been deemed outcasts and segregated from the rest of society. Crime and acts of terror serve as a thin veil to cover up an overarching conspiracy aimed at controlling the future of mankind…

I'm playing on PC - not a fan-boy of anything, very hard to please in fact and yep, played all the Deus Ex games to date and this one stacks up well. It is very similar to the previous game, but ups the game in terms of what the engine has to offer, more vertical environments to explore, ludicrous amounts of detail later on, the 'Aug-ghetto' is incredible and the subsequent battle that takes place in that section was so much fun to play through. It isn't perfect, what is? Some of the negative criticisms on forums levelled at the game are mostly unwarranted though - there are a few minor glitches here and there, especially on PC, but the developer has released patches already and continues to support the game. The dlc shop on the menu raised eyebrows & tempers, but... pft, who cares, don't buy anything (you don't need to) and ignore it.

24 hours in now and still some way to go to complete the game to the degree that I want, ie. close to 100% as possible. Room for second play through at a future date for a different character build & style of play.

If you like the previous game, you'll like this one, I'd just advise avoiding the negative user comments on here and get stuck in, you know what people are like, moan moan moan moan.

It'd be great if it makes enough to warrant a second half (sequel?) to the game but honestly I can see it falling fast, cheapest atm though heat added :)

Apparently it's tracking below 'Human Revolution', which (according to SE's projections) "underperformed"... Don't think we'll see that planned trilogy. Shame.

Are they known for flops?
I heard this is pretty good, but maybe that's just because fanboys?
Or is it cheap because it's just not sold as well as they hoped?

These and many other questions may or may not be answered on next week's episode of GUESS THE GAMES WITH GOLD GAME.

Regardless of the title, Square Enix games very rarely hold their prices (apart from the classic Final Fantasy series, of course).

I'd expect this game to drop quite quickly to be honest. It's currently top of the UK game charts, but as mentioned above has had a less impactful sales hit than Human Revolution back in 2011.

Main reason is because Square games just drop really quick, plus its single player only.

It's mostly because Square Enix always produce and ship far more copies of their games than they plan to sell...it's called "channel stuffing".

Too much inventory=price cuts.

Yep, they'll have threatened to withhold FF15 (which will under-perform anyway) and forced retailers to take more copies than they actually need. Not that every other publisher isn't doing the same thing.

I tend to agree with this and hold off until they drop, obviously if lots of people feel the same way then that may be the reason. Plus I think people might hold off until reviews and by that time wait for it to be around low £30.

Just cause 3 is, however, not playing by the rules. :D

I remember Human Revolution dropping soooo quickly. I can't remember the length of time exactly but do recall it coming out around £40 best deal about then I got it for £10 around 4 months later. Going by the 'half a game' comments and reviews I keep seeing I think I'll wait for the golden tenner......

But heat for the best price at the moment!

great stuff, going straight to cex once i've finished it this week. cost a total of £1.

Always liked the Deus Ex games but wary of buying Square Enix titles on Day 1 as previous games like Human Revolution dropped so quickly - its not about the quality of the games, its just the market response. And I think many people feel the same which leads an endless cycle of fantastic but underperforming games (sales-wise, not quality).

Saying that, I DID get this one on release, loving it so far, and hope to trade it in before the price plummets!

waiting on the full game release. from reviews this seems abit lite. Must have cut alot out

Still have quite few things to do, 27 hours in - depends how you play, I read the books, hunt out all the little caches etc.

Not done melee (fatal guns etc) and going full ghost so it's difficult to tell. There are more sneaking options and they're all just better implemented, so in that respect, it easier. But that's because everything has been polished. Another bonus is, they've removed those ridiculous boss fights that kinda ruined the last game.

Its about the same I think - depends how you play.
I stick to the shadows mostly and just use the stun gun much of the time and snipe with tranquilliser darts.

The AI is dumb at times and easy to trick - so there are usually sneaky ways to get out of tight spots.

This has been getting some great reviews. 9 plus out of 10. Multiplayer isn't everything. This type of game, I'd much prefer a more solid, decent single player campaign then substitute a multiplayer. Heat for the price. But I will wait until later in the year. Want to get stuck into Mafia 3 when it's released.

Never had time to finish the last one, plus the bosses on the non director cut version were so bad I just got bored. But, will I get away with diving into this story wise? Was thinking of catching up via a wiki/YouTube etc

There's a 12 minute or so movie (optional) which gives a recap of HR

I'd imagine a stealth play through would be longer but some of that must be down to restarts/being spotted etc. I'll do a ghost through next I think.

There is a re-cap at the beginning and it is pretty self-explanatory really. I don't play for the story as such, more the atmosphere and engaging with the systems.

The story is typical conspiracy territory. Even the radio host mimics Alex Jones & Picus Network is kind of Fox News and its all set in a 1984-gone-to-**** dystopia, with corporations vying for power and using people like puppets. That's all I need to know personally and then off I go...

[quote=Justme1969] I'd imagine a stealth play through would be longer but some of that must be down to restarts/being spotted etc. I'll do a ghost through next I think.

I am semi-ghosting it and trying not to restart too often. I think the save system can spoil it to a degree, ie. using save/load when hacking terminals (which I have done & do) - so I set my own rules and allow the chaos to ensue at times. They could have had a system where it is a strict 15 minutes between allowed saves (for instance) and then specific pre-set auto-saves when tasks have been completed. As it is, the save/load when you want, is OK, but.... you know what I'm saying.

I go ghost, but also involve myself in gun battles - it adds spice to the mix & I want to experience aspects of the game that are non-existent when pure ghost gameplay is the goal.
#34
I'm the same. mostly stealth, but not afraid to clean up my own mess...

I will say that the end may be nearer than you think, there are some unresolved narrative strands when the credits roll. I thought there'd be more but seems it's been held back for a sequel. I'd disagree with the "half a game" sentiment doing the rounds though. I though the game and the side missions were really well paced.
#35
I don't mind if it ends soon, I am following two side-quests at the moment and exploring other areas. I spend ages sight seeing :p I love the way the city is designed. I reckon I'll get about 30 hours out of one play through.

JC3 actually slipped my mind to be honest :D

We've seen it down to about £15 like new and £20 new on PS4, but that's obviously down to the fact it's a bit borked :D
