They’re Micro. They’re Machines. And they’re BACK!

Micro Machines World Series will retain the manic social game play of the classic series, but will bring a new dimension to the experience with stunning HD visuals – taking you to the much-loved household environments as they’ve never been seen before.

https://static.trueachievements.com/customimages/060179.jpg

As well as bringing to you the classic game modes like Race and Elimination, Micro Machines World Series will introduce a new style of game play to the series: Battle Mode. The all-new Battle Arenas will allow you to wreak mass destruction on a miniature scale against your friends or the AI. Meanwhile, Team Play lets you work together using your vehicles’ unique skills with modes such as ‘King of the Hill’ or ‘Capture the Flag’!

The game’s been designed around fun and frantic play at every turn, meaning there will never be a dull moment on the racetrack or in the arena. Micro Machines World Series is the ultimate pick-up-and-play experience for players of all ages and abilities, offering intuitive, easy-to-learn controls that make the controller impossible to put down.

There still no in-game gameplay yet? Hopefully it's top down like the old games.
Think it's worrying when a game is close to release before any actual gameplay.

It's a racing game by Codemasters. I wouldn't worry.

If they where to include Micro Machines + Micro Machines 2: Turbo Tournament, I would be all over this like a tramp on chips!

Exactly my point. If it were like the old games then £20 is a steal... But I would like to actually see some gameplay.

If I'm right, didn't you have to fit the old NES micro machines game on to another cartridge ? Just getting flash backs. Maybe wrong, old age :)

Heated for price, but on something that holds so much nostalgia I'll hold of until release this time

The last Micro Machines game was an iOS game last year, and that was pretty good. Hopefully it's similar to that.

If this is half as good as the original (I played it on SNES) it'll be worth £20 all day long. CANNOT WAIT!!!!

Yeah, agree. I got it the other day on Android - just felt a bit s***. But then again, that's mobile controls, so...

I agree with this http://mygameslounge.com/latest-gaming-news/micro-machines-world-series-is-coming/ that it seems perfect for Switch (and would also add 3DS). I would not rule it out at all appearing on a Nintendo console in the next year. I am interested to see if the game uses split screen, or the traditional try and run your opponents of the screen. This was never ideal as you couldn't see what was coming if you were close to the edge of the scrolling yourself. These methods of local multiplayer are the one drawback to this game in the past. On handheld consoles like 3DS/Switch, there is opportunity to all have your own screen in local multiplayer, which is a big benefit with lots of games.

Online multiplayer should be high quality, whatever system you play it on of course, 12 players at a time will be frantic fun.

When did Codemasters get the rights back? I heard they lost them.

Anyway I hope it is good and does well, not only are codemasters one of Britain's oldest video game developers but I WANT A MICRO MANIACS 2! :D

I'm quite surprised that they are still around. They only seem to make F1 and Dirt titles.

When Codemaster bought SEGA Racing Studio they should of made a new SEGA Rally game. At the time GRID was in production :( was never to keen on that game anyway.

There is no 'best' format. It's what people own or can afford.

In your opinion, but in your own words 'for ease' it's better to use a console.

You can't fault that reasoning, though. "It's the best because when I used to play it it was the best, meaning it was the best." Get him in the Trump administration, stat.

This game will probably be terrible. Like all the other games the studio has made the last couple of years (Toybox Turbos, Micro Machines V4).

From what I've heard it's just a port of that =\

The game will release in the latter half of April so why buy it now?! Literally no good reasons!

I am too but I guess their rally and formula 1 games sell really well? They would have too as they have survived such recent bombs as Overlord Fellowship of Evil and who can forget Bodycount?

There is no best format, it's subjective. The main reason I play video games these days is to enjoy a game with my mates. A bit of a 'social gamer', so to speak. I can't remember the last time I played a single player game. I know 2 people with gaming pc's, who will sit in the pub and try and convince us that pc is best. I know over 50 people with XBOX One's, who I play with regularly. A gaming PC would be of no use to me.

I remember on one of the series there was a sponge you had to sit on while it crossed the bath - the battles trying push each other off into the bath as it moved were heroic. #flashback #howold
